Fall and Holidays season at Hidden Hammocks.


The Star Fish Cottage is a one bedroom unit that includes a Queen-sized bed and TV in the bedroom, a full kitchen, bathroom with a tub/shower, living area with a sofa, TV, table with 4 chairs and some outdoor space on the side of the unit with a table and chairs. It can comfortably sleep 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children. The unit is air conditioned and WiFi service is available throughout the resort. Enjoy the communal outdoor pool and covered patio that has a gas grill, griddle and picnic area. There is a laundry room with washers/dryers for guests to use free of charge.

For those who would like to venture out to the beach, the unit has 2 beach chairs, a beach umbrella, a cooler and beach towels for your convenience.

Guest may request to have their pet, 1 dog of 40 pounds or less, accompany them on their vacation and will be required to sign and abide a pet occupancy agreement as well as pay $75 in additional cleaning fees for the in-depth cleaning required after a dog has stayed in the unit. Guests that bring a dog that has not been pre-approved by management or do not follow resort rules will be asked to leave the resort and all payments will be forfeited.

Fishing adventures, bird watching, water sports or some down time relaxing in nature and the beauty of the most desired key in Florida. We’re twenty-five miles to Key West for dinner and nightlike or walk down the block to the local tiki bar, Tonio’s.

We have plenty of space for your boat and trailer. There is a boat ramp just down the block at Tonio's that can handle flat boats 21' or smaller and the boat ramps at Cudjoe Gardens Marina (477 Drost Ave.) and Little Torch Key (SR 4A & County Road) can handle larger boats for a minimal fee.

We’re located twenty-five miles from Key West for dinner and nightlife. Walk 2 minutes down the block to Tonio's Seafood Shack & Tiki Bar. Bahia Honda State Park, with its beautiful beaches is a 15 minute drive from HIDDEN HAMMOCK RESORT. Our property is not on a waterfront and there are no public beaches in Summerland Key.

Guests are provided with the following amenities: a small bottle of dish soap, hand soap and a sponge, a roll of paper towels and toilet paper, a few laundry pods and hotel-size toiletries in the bathroom. This is to help our guests off to a good start. There are grocery and convenience stores in the areas for guests to purchase anything else that they may need.

Holiday Trip

We were down for the 4th of July and wanted a place to stay that was comfortable, but close enough to family, Key West, and Marathon. Could not have asked for better. The cottage was clean and the property was quiet and full of nature. Definitely a place we will stay at again.

Cottage small, suitable for 2 people. The cottage was not very clean upon checkin. Kitchen was very small, able to cook but difficult to clean dishes. Cottage was not supplied very well with basics like paper towel, dish soap.

New Places

Coming to a favorite area you're not always able to book your favorite place so we decided to try a couple new properties this trip. It did not disappoint. The property was beautiful and well kept and the owners are friendly and easily accessible. It's a bit farther down the keys than we usually stay but it was nice to explore a new area with more detail and the proximity to Key West is a huge plus. We will definitely be back and hope to rent all 4 units and bring the family :)

Nice property, great location in keys

We really enjoyed our stay at Hidden Hammock! Great location in the keys. Cute property with amenities. Our kitchen was well equipped for the couple of meals we decided to not go out for. Refrigerator was full size and appeared to be brand new. The washer/dryer on property was super convenient. My 9yr old son enjoyed the pool while my husband and I enjoyed sitting outside every night. Owners were very quick to respond to the couple of questions we had during our stay. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location, missing some basics

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The location is great for traveling around the Lower Keys. The setting is peaceful with iguanas and a variety of birds enjoying the property. It was nice to have access to a pool, as well. Pros: location; quick communication from the host; good WiFi and Direct TV; comfortable bed Cons: basics such as shampoo, shower gel, coffee filters, coffee, salt, pepper, etc. were not provided; there is limited counter space in the unit; whenever I reached out to the host for assistance, I felt like an imposition rather than a guest

A Rare Get-Away Find In The Lower Keys!

Like one of the prior guests mentioned in their review, I struggled with wanting to leave a review so that others don't catch-on to this amazing get-away spot in the Florida Keys!! My wife and I wanted to vacation in the Florida Keys but we wanted to be away from the bars, the "nightlife" and just have a secluded, quiet, peaceful place to vacation at. This is exactly what the Hidden Hammock resort is! The cottage was perfect for us, it had all the essentials we needed to prepare for all meals throughout the day if we didn't want to go out to a restaurant. The grill by the pool was also very handy, especially for grilling fresh seafood and good cut steaks from the local Winn Dixie. Even though all the cottages were booked, we often had our the pool area all to ourselves as many people were out and about at Key West, doing excursions, etc. We did go to Key West, a 30 minute drive or so away. The closest beach was Bahia Honda, about 15 minutes away. Glenn & Hope (owners) were extremely responsive with any questions we had. The WIFI wasn't working when we first arrived and after we made Glenn aware he fixed it the very next day. Not that we should be using WIFI all that often on a trip like this :) There were days we couldn't get into the pool because it was too cold, but halfway through our week it heated up to a perfect temperature and was very comfortable. We will definitely be back!!

Quite and relaxing

Thank you for a wonderful stay Glen and Hope! We loved the location it was convenient to travel to the Key West, yet far enough from the noise and party. Summerland Key itself is gorgeous! Few great spots for breakfast and lunch/dinner. Also every place around had fresh seafood and live music in the evening. Pool on the property was very clean and heated, which I loved since we got a few cooler days.Overall wonderful atmosphere. If we will be back to Key West next year, we will be back to stay at

9 night stay

This is an awesome location. Quiet yet within 20 minutes of Key West, beaches, marinas, tiki restaurants/bars. Hope was a great host and had great suggestions on things to do and places to eat. Very pet friendly also.

We would highly recommend this rental. The host,Hope was so nice and recommended many highlights of the area to visit and restaurants.The owners, Glenn and Trina were also so friendly and accommodating to us. Very clean unit. Equipped with everything we needed. Heated pool was a nice added bonus.

Beautiful Property in Great Location

Ww stayed for 6 nights as our first time in the Keys. The property is very well manicured with everything you'll need. We had a small issue with one cottage that was quickly rectified by the owners. Hope Nd Glenn were terrific! Not sure if we'll ever return to the Keys, but we highly recommend The Hidden Hammick to anyone visiting the area.

Great property

Relaxed property away from the hub of key west. Access to everything the keys has to offer with your own little slice of heaven at the end of day. Excellent host and communication. Already planning next years trip!!

Honeymoon Ruined

From the pictures you would think it looked pretty great and the fact that it states that it is a 5min walk from the beach was a big seller for us. When we first arrived, I didn't see a beach near it, all I saw was mangroves. When we then talked to another couple staying there and they proceeded to tell us that when they first got there that they had actually went to the wrong unit but that there door code worked in the couple that was occupying that unit, so then we found out we had the same door code as well. That was kind of crazy to me that we could all enter each others units. Yes, my husband did try that theory later, and it was true. The next day I went to take a shower and the water started backing up in the shower, so kind of a concern, but if that was the worse thing, ok but my husband wasn't happy. The next day which was Monday, my husband came out the toilet had backed up and even using the plunger he couldn't get it unclogged. We called the host and then she had the owner call us and he asked us to use the plunger and he would see about someone coming over. They came and we had to wait to get all that done, then it got worse and pretty much in short ruined our honeymoon, and we had 3 miserable days, had to go find a bathroom at 5am to go to one morning because I had to use the bathroom. we were ready to leave. They did put us in another room, and then paid for a dinner but honestly we should receive 3days of what we paid back, this was our honeymoon ruined!!
