This home had everything we needed to host the girls swim team for an evening dinner and game night. The kitchen was ideal for cooking a meal and the lounge was comfortable, supplied with games for entertaining. The host checked in to make sure we were doing okay.

Bucolic getaway

Quiet and spacious. 5 minutes from Bucksport shops . Lovely backyard.

This property is one of a kind! It has plenty of space for a large group of people to enjoy for any occasion. We came to celebrate our son’s college graduation with extended family. It was so much fun to discover the various antique pieces all over the property. If you want to step back in time for a short while- this is the perfect place for you! This historic house has so much to see in every room. Beautiful private backyard with three decks to enjoy. Had access to the bbq grill and even boiled 12 lobster in the XL pot provided. Plenty of parking. Lovely three season porch and a huge dining room area for meals. Beds were comfortable and four bathrooms allowed for easy preparation for daily activities. If the weather permitted we could have had a fun with the kayak or canoe. I would recommend this for small backyard wedding, family or holiday gatherings. It would make your event extra special!

Historic Home

This is a beautiful home with a stunning back and front yard. Very relaxing sitting on the back deck, listening to the frogs. The bonus room was spacious and comfortable. Owner was quick to resolve television issue. Would definitely stay again.

I need more than 1500 characters to express our appreciation for the property and our host! We arrived first. We made audible gasps upon entering! It’s almost overwhelming: we wandered, mouths agape, at antique furnishings & decor. We so enjoyed the arrivals of the remainder of our party - their enthusiasm and awe just seeing the entry room alone was fun to see. The property is museum quality, decorated to the extreme with vintage and antique items in every room. I took dozens of photos, just so we could look at all the eye-candy later. So much to look at, so much fun for us, as we enjoy vintage things and antiques. This is not a place for small children: Staircases are quite steep & potential damage that could be caused by inattention is huge. Every hallway, room, wall and surface has something of interest displayed. It is absolutely amazing. We could have stayed a month and not seen everything! Bedrooms are large, well appointed & extremely well-kept, all with balconies. There are many places where people can gather together or split off into groups. We were there for a nearby wedding, 3 generations housed comfortably. After dinner, wedding party enjoyed the beautiful grounds and many seating areas; in the evening, hung out in the huge lounge while older folks visited downstairs. Kitchen is small, well designed, has everything you need. Lynn quickly responded to the few questions I had. The property itself could be an enjoyable vacation! Hope to return someday! The best!

Perfection

Our family and friends of all ages are still raving about Lynn’s relaxing, clean, intriguing, historical, and private property. We surprised my parents for their 40th wedding anniversary and my father loved the comfortable porches, balconies, and ample places to sit and enjoy coffee and company. My mother could not get over the endless rooms filled with antiques and history. She said the whole experience was out of a movie. Would HIGHLY recommend for anyone looking for a special spot in Maine.

Beautiful and Relaxing Oasis

This property is beautiful and relaxing. The pictures do not do it justice. There is so much thought put into the decor and it is very comfortable and cozy. We had a party of 10, 8 adults and 2 nine year olds. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their space, when needed, as well as plenty of spots for togetherness. Lynn have a lovely tour upon arrival and was super responsive to all of our inquiries. My only regret was that I did not have more downtime to spend on the property itself. I will definitely rent again if I have a larger party.

Lovely place with an awesome experience!!

We loved the the listing as soon as we saw it, seemed something like right out of Downton Abbey. We were little hesitant to book as this place is new listing and the photos were too good be true. We are a group of 8 and everyone got excited looking at the photos and we booked it. And boy did we make a right choice, this is a beautifully decorated 18th century mansion. There was so much care taken in obtaining antique decoration stuff and accessories. It felt like we time travelled into 1800’s. I can only image how much time the host spent in putting all the decoration together. Every room , even the restrooms are aesthetically put together. There is a huge hall with 85 inch tv, where we had game night watching tv. In the morning we had a photo shoot in the beautiful backyard that comes with a pond . You can spent hours in each room going over the details. This house itself can be a trip and we are really glad we chose it and had a huge surprise in our trip. This is a huge house that can have 10+ persons and even great for people to experience the lifestyle of 1800’s. Kudos to host for putting an experience with the stay! P.S The house is well equipped with washer/ dryer/ fridge/ stove etc Highly recommended, go book your stay now!!

Magical Weekend

I first found this property while looking for a wedding venue. I reached out and Lynn was quick to respond and organize a tour of the property. From the first step inside, I was blown away, and it only got better as we saw more of the house. While I wanted to have my wedding here, we soon realized we had too many guests, however decided to keep the rental so our families could all be together. I cannot put into words what an incredible weekend we had! The Emerson House is not only stunning, but had room for everybody to be comfortable. There was something for everyone to do, from hang out on the deck, to sit around the fire pit, to play horseshoes, to canoeing. The house itself was an attraction for both family that stayed with us, and those that popped by to visit. It is full of incredible antiques, and each room is put together with detailed thought and themes. The backyard is magical, complete with a beautiful frog lily pond. Each and every person barely had the words to describe how incredible it was. Lynn was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating when it came to questions and even needing to pop by and take one more look to figure out room assignments. I cannot thank Lynn enough for opening up her house full of treasures and sharing with us! We will be back the next time we have family visiting us in Maine!!! 💛

Great stay!

Our friends stayed at this property, and they found it to be well located, nicely appointed, very clean and the perfect property. Lynn was incredibly responsive at all times, and we couldn’t have been more satisfied. What a beautiful spot, and what a great place to stay!
