Nestled between Riverside Drive and Central Park, the area attracts residents seeking a quieter neighborhood. Beautifully maintained brownstones and an abundance of good schools make it a preferred choice for families. Popular cultural attractions include the Natural History Museum and Lincoln Center. In addition, Columbia University and Barnard College are at the north end of the neighborhood and about a 15 minute ride on the subway.
