Whispering Hillside -Coffee Bar, Hot Tub Fire Pit

Rustic yet refined, this private cabin offers an open and inviting interior with soaring ceilings featuring 2 immaculately designed levels, 2 bedrooms plus a loft, 1 full bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen, nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. So, coffee lovers, wrap up in your favorite blanket and come enjoy sipping your favorite espresso, cappuccino or latte while sitting by the fire pit and marveling over these gorgeous mountain views!

Access and all check in information is provided the morning of check in once guest IDs are submitted. The property is situated on a mountain. The main roads are easy to navigate and there is a elongated uphill drive to enter Tanner`s Ridge Mountain. Once in the neighborhood you would need to drive on gravel roads cautiously for about 10 min, we highly recommend 4x4 especially during snow days. There is a steep driveway with lots of flat space to park at the top.

The Whispering Hillside property was lovely, clean, and offered at a very fair price. The house itself was great, and I really enjoyed the hot tub during the first part of my stay.However, I did run into a major issue when the pipes froze, leaving the house without water. While this was definitely a downside for a short trip, I can’t say enough about the host, Karen. She was incredibly responsive and communicative throughout the ordeal.To make things right, she provided another one of her properties for me to move to and even refunded me for a night. The only real "con" was losing a full day of my vacation to pack up, drive an hour to the new location, and unpack again.Despite the bad luck with the weather, Karen’s professionalism saved the trip. I would definitely use her properties again and recommend them to others!

The house was adorable and cozy! We loved the big open kitchen and island so we could set up some big puzzles. Both rooms were comfortable and we slept well. The cabin was close to attractions in Stanley and Luray when we wanted to venture out.

This was an absolutely perfect spot for a couples getaway. The next tub next to the fire pit looking at the mountains?? Are you kidding??? Amazing!! Cannot be beat. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could need. Everything worked great! Check in was super easy and host was very responsive. The cleaning crew needs to dust behind the barn door where it meets the wall and the shower needed to be cleaned. Everything else was super clean and comfortable. The windows looking out toward the foliage and the mountains are unbeatable. Oh also the coffee needed to be replenished we did not have anything but decaf but it was super close to a great coffee shop and the location and views were unbeatable. The drive was not bad at all. Wi-Fi worked great. Love love loved staying here in the fall. Picture perfect.

The cabin was situated in a secluded mountain setting, exactly what we were looking for. The cabin was perfect, cozy with all the amenities needed. This was the perfect getaway place from the demands of everyday life. It was perfect, absolutely perfect.

Beautiful property

This property was an amazing stay. Peaceful, quiet and very relaxing. Be prepared for an adventurous off road experience to reach the cabin. We loved every minute of our trip. The only downside of our stay was several ( at least 5) wasps nests on the house which made entering and exiting the home challenging. The host did respond to my message about the wasps and stated she would be dealing with them. Overall an amazing property and great for a vacation.

Listing not accurate

We complained property wasn’t clean. Hair in bathroom sink dirty washcloth left on shower rod. Dog hair not vacuumed. We vacuumed and cleaned first day. Also coffee station had little coffee, no creamer and no tea. We had to go back out for creamer and tea. Could not use tv because the remote was not in house. I have some pictures if needed

Amazing Stay in the Clouds

What an incredible property! The home itself is stunning, only to be outdone by the breathtaking views. It was the perfect escape from the city. We enjoyed the ability to explore Luray (recommend Broad Porch Coffee) which was a convenient 20-25 minute drive away. But we really appreciated all of the amenities included at the property: fire pit, hot tub, grill and comfortable lIcing spaces.

Beautiful Stay in Stanley

Amazing property, great view, loved the coffee bar, great proximity to SNP. FYI, the roads in the neighborhood are quite steep and bumpy, not a problem if you have a larger vehicle. Low profile sedans could bottom out and have issues on incline/decline.

Family of 4 loved our stay!

My husband, two little boys, and I loved this cabin. It was plenty of space. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Well-equipped kitchen. The coffee bar was AMAZING! The neighborhood is so quiet and peaceful. We loved access to the firepit and hot tub. We would stay again! (Definitely take any mention of the road into the cabin seriously. It is a steep and winding dirt road that was passable when it was dry, but was a struggle for our minivan after we got a few inches of snow. We actually parked out at the main road and hiked out the morning of check-out! It wasn't a big deal at all, for us; just a heads-up.)

Bespoke and Off the Beaten Path

The location is by far the most unique part of this stay - at the top of a mountain it has spectacular views. The large kitchen was nice, as was the coffee bar. However, the lower level bed was quite uncomfortable. A few other adjustments, including a TV in the main living space, a water filter, would have made the stay more comfortable. The check in process was straightforward and the host was very responsive.

Honest Review

I've gotten used to bracing myself for the listing of vacation rentals falling short to what they are like in real person. But this place was fantastic. Clean, everything was nice, the pictures did not do it justice, gorgeous views, everything in working order, great communication from the host. Coffee bar was an especially nice touch! ;) Can't wait to be back. 5 stars!!

Love this cabin!

The cabin was so adorable, just like shown in the listing! It’s not large but doesn’t feel small at all: we had 2 adults , a teen, and toddler and it was perfect. We all had space and great kitchen area! It had everything you might need for your stay - in the kitchen, games, towels, blankets, charging cords, etc. - which was awesome. The views are amazing! Beautiful in the fall. The host was responsive and helpful! Just be sure you’re ok with the (sometimes steep) gravel road leading to the house, which is common for area, but not everyone aware of - we had no problems though! We loved our stay and will hopefully come back again!

This property is very close to the park, but not the entrance. It’s about 50min to get in skyline drive. At the house you do feel like you’re in the park because you can’t see any neighbors.

Great little home with a great view!

The house was in great condition and very modern/farmhouse looking inside. We enjoyed the seclusion of it, but it is down a hilly dirt/stone road to get there so just be careful down that road. Also the drive to skyline drive is about 45 minutes so a little bit of a drive if you’re going there. The hot tube was a great addition! Would stay here again!
