Welcome to your Capitol Hill retreat! Newly renovated in December 2024, this 900 sq ft apartment is ground-level in front and garden-level in back, with less natural light in the rear rooms. It features a full kitchen, new appliances, a luxurious walk-in shower, on-site laundry, and ample FREE street parking.

The host is extremely responsive and attentive. This property is also in a great location with close proximity to a Metro stop not far from the Capital and a super fun upscale food hall, The Roost! We were relieved in the DC heat to recoup at May's place which was always cool and relaxing. It was such a fun experience staying here for several days to explore the historic sites in DC. Thanks for having us, May!

Great space for small family; towels were stained, and there were several little centipedes running around, but otherwise the place was spotless. Location could be better, doesn't seem like the nicest neighborhood. had some strange interactions on our walk to the metro in the middle of the day, so we took an uber back instead of walking around there at night.

Capitol Hill is widely regarded as one of DC’s most welcoming residential neighborhoods, with many young families and children. As with any centrally located city neighborhood, especially one close to public transportation, guests may occasionally encounter a wide range of people. I’m sorry you had an uncomfortable interaction during your stay. That is certainly not typical of the neighborhood.

This apartment was perfect! Convenient location. Super clean. Comfy bed bed with lots of pillows. Loved the nice fluffy comforter. Absolutely no issues. Keurig was nice for my morning coffee. Will definitely come back and recommend to others.

Apartment was clean and had just what we needed for our stay in DC. The location was the best part of it. You are so close to the metro and really not far from the Mall. We rode our bikes on bike lanes from the apartment to the Mall area without any problems(look up maps of bike lanes online). We also enjoyed Anacostia River trail which is near as well. We will book the same place when we vacation again here.

Stayed for a few days during Easter break. Location made it easy to get around central DC area, either by car or mass transit. We took the subway to National Mall and surrounding areas each day, as it is a 2 block walk from the apt. There's a few decent eateries nearby. Neighborhood appears to be going through a gentrification, so there's a mix of people walking around, especially in the evening. Never felt unsafe. Overall a good experience. And yes, that large squishmallow in the photo is there - this was a primary concern for my 8 yr old. Lol.

This small apartment was the perfect space for our family. It was clean, and super close to the Metro. The Roost on the corner was awesome, had some good food options and a short walk. I was nervous about the free street parking, but that ended up not being am issue as there was plenty of spots really close by. My only recommendation would be to get a larger pot to boil water in, it was small to be able to make pasta. And an updated skillet. Thank you for your hospitality.

The property was clean for the most part. Some caterpillars did follow us in. The kitchen and bathroom had all the essentials. The beds were comfy. Upstairs neighbors were a little loud but didn’t bother us.

My family had a great time staying here while visiting the Museum and monuments in DC. The proximity to the Metro was great. This location was clean and comfortable. The communication with the host was easy and prompt. We would absolutely stay here again!If you are visiting DC and using public transportation, I also highly recommend using the Citymapper app for your phone. It made navigating the area very easy!

Great DC Weekend

The apartment was perfect for our weekend in DC. We walked from the apt to the national Mall and home from a Nats game. Also, very convenient to a metro stop. Be sure to check out The Roost for dinner!

Convenient location and fantastic host

Very pleasant stay in a quiet neighborhood in a very clean apartment. 5 minutes walk to public transport, easy parking situation, and restaurants walkable in a 1-mile radius. We had a partial power outage in the neighborhood and the host responded right away and was super helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Location for Us

We were less than a block away from the family we were visiting which was perfect. The size of the apartment was good. We appreciated the option for the 5th guest as we have 3 teenagers. Will definitely use it again for future visits.

Great location!

Overall, great stay. Clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Location is wonderful. 20 minutes to the Capitol. Easy walk to the metro. Restaurants and a gluten free bakery very close. My only complaint is that the people who live above are up very early and they are very loud! Like we definitely could not sleep past 6:30 am. At least they slept in on Sunday!I would still stay again, it was a nice place.

Nice place for a weekend away

The location was great (near the metro and walking distance to convenience stores and restaurants). Space was perfect for our family. The only negative was not having coffee, but we knew that going in, so it was easy enough to buy k-cups when we arrived. The host was very responsive to communication. Overall, a very good experience.

Great Place

It was great. If you go, know that the door is at street level kind of tucked in between buildings. We were looking at doors with steps. This sounds stupid I know but keep it in mind.

Mother Daughter trip

Listing was just as discribed, very clean and comfortable. Parking can be tricky, but that was expected in D.C but we managed to find a spot just a few doors down. Couple living upstairs but never heard them and I hope they never hear us. Things are close enough to walk to, food, stores etc just use Google maps. Would stay again.

I would have loved to used the backyard in the morning for coffee, but your are not allowed back there. Also the people above you sounds like they are auditioning for the cast of stomp. Make sure you pack your own wash clothes, because there are none in there. I had to use a paper towel for a wash cloth.

Exactly what we needed!

We were very satisfied with our decision to stay in this cute VRBO during our five days in Washington, DC. Everything was exactly as advertised. It was less than a five minute walk to the Metro, which was incredibly convenient. The free parking pass was perfect. We parked our car right outside of the property and never drove once since the Metro was so close. The place was very clean, and our communication with May was constant and easy. The neighborhood was cute and safe. Five stars all around!

Family sightseeing week in DC

Unit was very nice. Clean and quiet, never heard neighbors above. Super convenient to Metro, easy walk to Safeway. The parking pass was great to have since we drove from New England, but then used Merto so we didn’t drive the whole week. Bed was very comfortable. Day bed was listed to convert to a king size. But it was really a trundle bed. One of my teens ended up sleeping on the other sofa instead. Kitchen could use a few more pots as there were only 2 small ones, barely big enough for us to boil pasta and heat sauce. Overall nice unit, we enjoyed our stay.
