Halibut Hideaway - New Oceanfront cottage
Come enjoy the Halibut Hideaway, this high bank waterfront condo with amazing ocean views. Our new cottage is the perfect spot for a friend and family getaway. Many amenities will help you enjoy your time here, like a fire table to enjoy the views, BBQ, free wifi and cable.
The space
- WHAT PEOPLE LOVE –
We have tried to think of everything you will need to relax while you’re on vacation, including:
- Oceanfront unit overlooking the ocean and marina.
- New luxury unit with new and beautiful furnishings.
- Remarkable views of the ocean from a large deck with plenty of seating.
- Open concept floor plan that is great for groups and families.
- Short walk down to the beach, marina and restaurants.
- A fire table and BBQ to enjoy the ocean setting.
- Parking connected directly to the home.
You will also find many conveniences of home:
- Fully stocked kitchen
- Wifi and cable
- Washer/Dryer
Here’s what you may not love:
- If you are lucky to be in Port Renfrew during a storm, you may experience a power outage, but we have equipped the home to help maintain a good experience such as candles, propane stove, fire table and BBQ. Power outage can occur year round in Port Renfrew, so it's best to come prepared with food, and enough fuel in our vehicle to make the return trip to Sooke or Lake Cowichan
- Cell phone service is only available for Rogers and Telus networks and any small providers that use that network. Emergency (911) calls can still be made with any carrier. It's sometimes possible to be able to connect to an American network in the right areas.
- Since our unit is located in a fourplex, you may hear some minor noise from the guests above as would be typical of a condo unit.
- HOME DETAILS AND AMENITIES -
This rental easily has enough room for two average size families with 800 square feet of living space. It is also well suited for anyone that has trouble with stairs as you can access the home from the parking lot directly.
KITCHEN: The new kitchen is well equipped with utensils, pots, pans, coffee maker, etc. along with all stainless steel appliances you will need for your vacation including a dishwasher.
LAUNDRY: There is also a stackable washer and dryer for your convenience.
LIVING ROOM: The living area is off the kitchen with plenty of comfortable seating, an electric fireplace and one pull out couch with queen bed. There is a large TV with a DVD/CD player, and cable as well as books and games.
BEDROOMS: 2 bedrooms both with queen size beds
BATHROOMS:
- Bathroom 1 – The main bathroom with tub, sink and toilet.
- Bathroom 2 – The ensuite bath to one bedroom with shower, sink and toilet.
- OUTDOOR FEATURES –
DECK: The single-level deck overlooking the San Juan Inlet and the marina has a propane fire table and seating as well as a Weber grill for a memorable BBQ overlooking the ocean after a long day of fishing or enjoying the many natural wonders around Port Renfrew.
PARKING: Easy access from your car with 1 spot in front of the home as well as additional visitor parking steps away on Baird Rd.
- AREA ATTRACTIONS –
THIS is the reason we chose this beautiful spot! The attractions are endless with Port Renfrew being the ultimate nature’s playground. Enjoy world renowned fishing with a fishing charter at the marina steps away from the home.
Numerous breathtaking beaches are 5-20 minutes away including Botanical Beach, and Sombrio.
Enjoy nature walks or hiking including the WEST COAST TRAIL, and Avatar Grove with Canada’s gnarliest tree and old growth forests.
Visit local attractions such as Fairy Lake with a roughly 40 year old bonsai style Douglas Fir tree, and Big Lonely Doug.
- RESTRICTIONS –
This is a non-smoking home. No parties or events to respect the surrounding neighbours.
