Great experience - only issue was the gas stove- we decided to use only one burner at a time as other burners kept “clicking” when one was on. We were notified about missing knobs that will be fixed after our departure so thanks for the heads up. Otherwise a beautiful stay and highly recommend Halibut Hideaway! Very well stocked kitchen !

Beautiful Location

Went for a few days of R & R and some Ocean air. Great location, beautiful of the bay. Lovely deck, we would definitely stay again!

Quiet and beautiful

Everything about our stay here was perfect. The owners carefully thought out everything someone would need in a short term stay. My family got the quiet and relaxing time away, and we enjoyed the local hiking trails. I highly recommend this rental! Thanks so much.

Beautiful views

Lovely property with amazing views. Very clean. Loved watching the bald eagle and other birds. Very convenient to good local restaurants and Botanical Beach. Would definitely stay again.

Halibut Hideaway Happiness

The place was gorgeous well stocked with games and movies. Bonus was it's across the road from a great ice cream spot. Our first night we didn't have anyone in the unit above us which was wonderful. Second night we had a huge group move in. I missed the notice the host made on the site pointing out that it could be a little loud if someone was in there. We were just a little shocked when they would walk the length of the unit our kitchen table would shake. Not sure if it was how they were walking but something to be aware of. I will say this is no fault of the host as they don't own the upstairs unit. The place is located in a great spot to watch boats and we spent a ton of time on the deck. The hosts were amazing and this would be a great base if you wanted to do some hiking or beach combing.

Beautiful view, brand new condo

Couldn’t ask for a more picturesque view from the large patio. Firebowl was a great addition to enjoy the evening. Electric fireplace inside kept the room cozy on a cool night. Large L shape relaxing couch, well appointed kitchen and comfortable beds. Perfect stay

Incredible view, excellent cottage!

Despite a booking snafu, Steve and Liisa quickly made arrangements to stock us up with clean sheets and towels for our stay. They’re excellent communicators and very hospitable. The cottage was laid out nicely, kitchen stocked with basics like olive oil, good coffee, spices, etc. We loved our time at Halibut Hideway, watching eagles hunting on the ocean. Highly recommend!

Perfect island staycation

Our stay was everything we could have imagined and then some! The whole place was well stocked with games, entertainment and beautiful views. The kitchen has everything you need to function (even decent coffee and good knives). There is a smart TV and great wifi so you can still stay connected in the evenings and watch your favourite streaming services. The neighbourhood is a nice place to walk your dog around when the rain lets up and is as close as you need to be to all the hikes in Port Renfrew. We will for sure be staying again!

Cozy Condo with a View

The condo was clean, and the view was lovely. A clean and cozy place. It was a great location to explore the fabulous Juan de Fuca area. The units seem pretty new, and the landscape is a little barren when approaching the units. But the view off the deck is where you spend your time when not out hiking, and that is perfect. We cooked a lot and would recommend a salad spinner and vegetable steamer. We had a great time and recommend this unit.

Beautiful Place!

This is a beautiful location and we truly enjoyed our stay! They had a very accurate website description so we were not disappointed. The kitchen was fully stocked which was great. Our only complaint was the cleaning staff which must have given it a pretty quick turnover because we found a pacifier and kid's toy under the master bed, a dried puddle of urine in a corner, kids' black hand prints over a wall, leftover butter and crumbs in a cupboard, the folding couch a bed contained goldfish and other snacks...so not quite what I would call clean. This was easily offset by the gorgeous view and the very enjoyable balcony!

I liked the view, the proximity to the marina, the quality of the beds. I didn’t like that I found half done linens in the washer- sitting wet, the hideabed had dirty linen and that I just couldn’t get the coffeemaker to work. The biggest problem was that no one is close by as a caretaker if something is wrong.
