The host, Sabine, is very friendly and was waiting for us when we arrived. She gave us a great overview of how things worked in the apartment and made us feel welcome. The apartment is smallish, but cosy and clean and has a good kitchen and is in a great neighbourhood for easy access to good local restaurants and tapas bars and is an easy walk (10-15 minutes) to the balcon (the heart of the city) and the beaches. It is close to a wonderful square with fountains and just a short (2 minutes) walk to the local bus station where you can get local buses as well as buses to Frigiliana (a beautiful "white town" once a Muslim stronghold) or to Granada, Jaen etc. or farther afield if you wish. The apartment is on the third floor so if you have mobility issues it may not for you. One of the best things was the roof access - a godsend in the evening where we ate most of our dinners looking either at the Mediterranean or the mountains depending on our mood. In the warm weather, it is also a great place to hang laundry because it takes no time to dry. The neighbours are all Spanish, but quite approachable and the neighbourhood is fun, lively and less touristy then some other parts of Nerja. All in all, we quite liked it and would come back again if it were available.
