Unfortunately, due to insurance reasons the boat and jet ski are not available to guest. However, there is a boat launch 1 mile from the house if guests would like to bring their own.

Morrow Mountain State Park - Located in Stanly County only 10 miles away, Morrow Mountain State Park provides a myriad of adventures from the summit of the namesake mountain, along the banks of the Yadkin River State Trail, and to the shores of Lake Tillery. The mountain is a study in geologic wonder with Native American artifacts made of rhyodacite to argillite mined by the Civilian Conservation Corps to create many of the park's structures

Respite

Unfortunately I was not there for vacation.A friend of mine that lived nearby had just lost her father and brother within days of each other so I was there to offer comfort and care and give her a different view.The view was absolutely beautiful.The house was very comfortable and well stocked. Just as described. A respite in a rough sea. Would definitely rent again.

The room closest to the lake has a great view of the lake, perfect table for playing board games (or mahjong, in our case), and darts for the kids. We also caught a catfish off the dock! We'll definitely consider it for future visits!

So peaceful!

The house was beautiful! Thank you for opening your home to us, we had a great stay! I could absolutely live there, it’s so peaceful especially on that side of the lake, and so much space on the deck to enjoy the views. Yes, there are a lot of stairs going down to the dock, but I actually enjoyed getting some steps in! And it wasn’t a big deal for our 3 boys. We thoroughly enjoyed our week!

Perfect for a family getaway!

We had a great time in this well appointed home with a spectacular view! We brought our own boat and had a blast on the water. The home was very clean and comfortable and the dart board and shuffle board were well utilized. We will definitely recommend this to our friends and hope to return with our family again.

Perfect Get-a-Way

Everyone was impressed with the property! It was a comfy & cozy space and the beds were actually comfortable! The house is well-stocked in case you forget anything (like extra towels, papertowels, trashbags, etc.) The kitchen is well-stocked too so if you did need to cook, you would have pretty much everything you needed. The view from the decks are amazing! There are a LOT of stairs to the water, but to enjoy a glass of wine or coffee on the deck, you just need to walk out of the doors. We spent most of our time enjoying the view. Everyone really enjoyed their stay and would highly recommend!

Overall a decent stay

Had to call about check in due to the code wasnt set as my last 4 digits of my phone number as was stated in check in email. Quick call and the girl at the office updated the code so we were able to get in. The property looked like the pictures. There wasnt any lights going down the stairs to the dock. It would be really helpful to have them at night time. I personally dont like the door knobs for the outside doors. If your going to have door knobs like that its a must to have a dead bolt. When would email it would take a day or so to get a response overall good area and clean home.

Perfect Lake House

The kitchen was well stocked. There were games to play. Sitting on any of the decks at any time of the day was pleasant but...oh that sunset! We had a horrendous storm come through and had to contact the owner. He was very responsive and only concerned about our safety. I would definitely return and highly recommend this home.

Upscale Lakeside Cottage with an amazing view.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cleaning was not complete from previous renters stay.Floors were not cleaned at all in bathrooms. Trash left behind from prior renters. Deck furniture was spared out- me & my daughter were cleaning up after the prior renters to keep us from being charged a fee. Check out times differed & was really disturbing to schedule the last day of departing at the last minute...Interrupted on the evening of the wedding we were attending- we were getting ready & the housekeeper came & talked explained-yet took time from us getting ready. (B/c of prior renters mess) She cleaned the bathroom floors-grateful! Yet, still the floors were dusty & trash left behind from previous renters. The kitchen counters had not been wiped down from prior renters as well. Dishwasher started to leak as we were departing on check out day. A lot of opps in this stay. Yard was not well kept. Overgrown grass and weeds everywhere-especially driveway... snaky. (The housekeeper came out the second day & pushed mowed the driveway for us to walk to our vehicles.) This home is very lovely inside with the decor and furniture. The half bath is in a unfinished utility/laundry closet! The train does go by on the tracks and it is amazing to witness. Hawks and other wildlife are a bonus in capturing the lake itself when outside. Very off the beaten path-make sure you are stocked with groceries- b/c you will not want to leave when you get there.

Amazing home

Very clean and beautiful property. We enjoyed the darts and shuffleboard inside the house, but spent most of our time on deck and dock. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

Sunset Cottage was amazing!

We had a wonderful long weekend at Sunset Cottage on Badin Lake. The house was beautiful, comfortable, very clean, well stocked and had wonderful outdoor spaces to enjoy the views and the water. The listing was accurate and the house was even more beautiful in person than the pictures indicated. I think it’s worth noting that there were several long flights of stairs to get to the dock and water so this house would not be ideal for anyone with mobility issues if they wanted to enjoy the dock, however this was not an issue for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful location!

The House Made Up For the Weather

Such a warm home

I did an early Thanksgiving with my kids, two who are High Point. We walked in the front door on Friday and didn’t open that door until we left on Sunday. It was perfect and we hope to come back again.
