Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. This is a spacious year round home with plenty of beds to accommodate a large family. Enjoy picturesque Sunrises while you walk the Sandy Shores of Hammond Bay. This is a perfect place for a family vacation or a weekend get-a-way. Besides the miles of sandy beach just a short walk from the front door (400 ft), it is located only ten minutes from Oqueoc Falls, the largest falls in Lower Michigan. This vacation home is truly a haven for the outdoor enthusiast, summer or winter it has tons to offer: swimming, hiking, boating, fishing, Kayaking, motorcycling, quading, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.

Wonderful Property!

This property and host were wonderful. It was a very spacious home and had everything we needed. My family and I enjoyed our stay much. The access to the beach was awesome! I would absolutely recommend this property.

Beautiful location & spacious accommodations

This property is in a great location with beautiful beach access, we enjoyed the beach, Ocqueoc falls, and downtown Cheboygan (Step In, Cheboygan roasting, lighthouse park). Spacious cabin (plus toys and books) was great for kids. We were visiting family near by and will definitely check for this rental in the future. Thank you to the host for great stay!

Great Family Vacation Getaway!

While the weather wasn't perfect during our stay, the house was a perfect setup for our family vacation. The 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths were just what we needed. The short walk to a beautiful beach was not an issue at all. Plenty of room for parking too! We would definitely rent this property again!

Family Fun

This is a spacious home with all the comforts and amenities you need. Very clean, and comfortable beds. The beautiful sandy beach is only a few hundred feet away. This is a quiet calm area, with no stores or gas stations close by. There is one nice restaurant close by for dinners. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing vacation then this is the place! Family fun at the beach for sure! Bike riding and rock hunting just down the road at the lighthouse. Ocqueoc Falls was also great fun! Thank you for sharing your place with us Shannon and family! We had a great time!

Misinformed

I was taken by surprise at the location when given directions by the host prior to check in. The map on VRBO and even my App directions (as well as the home listing) led us to believe that we would be on the beach or “just a few short steps from the water” in reality, the home is a 3-5 minute walk down a road to shared access on the beach, where you walk through the side yard of the homes on the beach. Be aware that the neighbors are not thrilled with a rental house down the lane, and be prepared to be questioned as to if you are supposed to be on the beach or walking past their homes. walked down at 520 am to watch the sunrise and was stopped and questioned by one of the homeowners on the beach as to why I was there. The home was clean and smelled fresh, though I had to clean around the toilet bases due to strong urine smell. There was no wifi in the unit and no cable or smart tv. I swore the original listing said there was basic cable, there is just a few local channels no dvd player as it was broken. The beds are very stiff and noisy, with very cheap bedding. There were 2 kitchen towels in the unit and not a single dishcloth, only a sponge. There were plentiful towels but only 5/6 washcloths. Very few extra blankets. The host was prompt to get us a new toaster when we let him know it was broken. Communication was a bit difficult as the host doesn’t like to communicate through the app and only wanted to talk over the phone. Poor cell service and no wifi made that hard.

Thank you Tricia for your review. I am all about honesty and making everyone's stay an incredible experience. The noisy matress protector has now been replaced, also the towels and blankets will be augmented, thanks to your observations. Regarding the wifi, the past guest had mistakenly took it home thinking it was their daughter's. You notified me about that situation on the night of the 7th, after already being there four days. The next day I messaged you through the app and to your phone that I could solve the issue if you were willing to go into the Verizon dealer in Cheboygan, but I never heard back from you. The house is not beach front but does have beautiful access with a very short walk, between 300-400 feet.

The host was very kind and communicated with me in a timely manner. The home was in a great location and we were able to enjoy Lake Huron as well as other cool places around the area (Mackinaw Island, Ocqueoc Falls, Sturgeon River and we could visit my son at the Cheboygan Brewery. We made great memories. Thank you!

I am a husband and father of six children. I grew up spending my summers on the beach in Oscoda MI. and fell in love with the water and what the Great Lakes have to offer. For me vacation is synonymous with WATER and so here we are trying to share with others our love for the water. My family and I love to water ski, windsurf, fish, kayak, quad, snowmobile, cross-country ski, hike, just about any activity that will get us outside. Here in Oqueoc we have found a haven.

This is a very comfortable year round home meters away from gorgeous Hamond Bay. We find it special because its in a very quiet neighborhood that is set on the Sandy Shores of Lake Huron. Once on the beach you can walk for miles in either direction, with no crowds to share it with. The West side might have the sunsets but they have nothing on the incredible Morning Sunrises witnessed on these sandy shores.

This spacious home is also close to incredible day trips like Oqueoc Falls, Mackinac City, Fort Michilimackinac, and Mackinac Island.
