The property was perfect for our 4 day mini staycation with our grandkids. The house offered options for cooking, playing games and swimming along with space for everyone to find their niche. A few things to remember; bring toiletries, extra towels and pool toys (if needed for your family-can also rent) Excellent location to beautiful beaches and all attractions. Lots of stores and restaurants-all price ranges and specialties. We will definitely stay again on our next trip to the area

Quiet Neighborhood Great Location

Our stay at Sarasota was a delight. The house had plenty of room for my family and was very comfortable. The fenced in backyard was great for our dog. There is a big and walking path right next to the neighborhood which we used often. I would highly recommend this this rental.

Perfect for your family getaway!!

I’ve done other short rentals of properties before, but this was the most clean and welcoming property that I’ve visited. You can tell there have been so many updates done to this house and they have been so well done. If you plan to visit this part of Florida I highly recommend this property. Joy was wonderful to work with.

We were disappointed with our stay. We booked this property because it had a washer and dryer. When we checked in, we saw a note that the washer was broken and that a new one had been ordered but couldn’t be delivered until the following week. We should have been notified prior to checking in that there wasn’t a working washing machine. We were notified that a laundromat was nearby and we would be reimbursed, however that kind of defeats the purpose of booking a house that is supposed to have these utilities already in place and functioning. Additionally the shower rod and curtain in the master fell down twice. There were visible holes in the blankets with the bed with the pull out couch and those blankets were definitely not washed prior to our arrival. Finally the pool was pretty but also a home for 4 ducks who pooped daily in and around the pool.

Thank you again for your stay and for your feedback. I truly appreciate you choosing our property. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the washer not being available during your 5-day visit. This was an unexpected situation, as the new washer—our third replacement in two years—was scheduled to be delivered two days before your arrival. Unfortunately, the delivery was pushed to the day after your arrival and then delayed again. The new unit, a top-of-the-line Speed Queen, was ultimately delivered on the day of your departure. I did reach out several times during your stay to offer reimbursement and even offered complimentary laundry service, but I did not hear back. I would still be happy to make this right if you’re open to it. Regarding the pool, I’m sorry to hear you experienced issues. When you arrived, the pool was spotless with no signs of any visitors, as I personally clean it before every guest’s arrival. I do wish I had known during your stay t, as I could have quickly addressed any concerns. The situation you described can usually be prevented by use of the pool or placing rafts in the pool, and I would have gladly taken care of that for you right away. I also want to address your concern about the blankets. I will go through all five spare blankets to identify which one you’re referring to and address any concerns. I’m truly sorry if your vacation experience was impacted. Please know that I do everything I can to ensure my guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. It’s disappointing when circumstances outside of my control affect that experience and I’m not notified during the stay so I can rectify the issue, but instead only learn about it afterward in a review. Thank you again for your visit, and I wish you all the best in your future travels.

Great Location!

This property is convenient to everything in Sarasota. Two negatives. One is that we didn't have the entire property to ourselves. You are not told this in the listing. Apparently, the host stays in part of the house with a separate entrance and separate backyard. The host has a dog that cried all day one day. I guess because the host wasn't there but the dog could hear us. At first we thought it was next door but then we figured out it was on the other side of one of the interior walls. My daughter was very concerned about the dog. The second negative was we didn't like having to schedule with the host when we used the washer/dryer. If you don't want guests using it, then don't list that you have a washer/dryer.

Property as described

Pros: Property is in a perfect location, central to everything. The pool was clean and goes pretty deep. The lanai was clean and cozy. Lots of towels for all of your water activities. Kitchen had everything that you needed. Cons: Tenant or owner stays on property in mother in law suite, which is the 4th bedroom/third bath in the house that is blocked off. The third bedroom bed is a pull out couch that is so uncomfortable that my father was unable to sleep on it. The TV in the third bedroom didn't work. There is a lock on the AC that will not allow for it to go colder than 72 degrees. Live cockroach found in bathroom, but it is Florida. Second bathroom toilet backed up and needed to be plunged without a large deposit. The door jam seal out to the lanai needs replaced, that could be letting the critters in.

The home was very nice and in a decent location in the vicinity of our family activities. The home was clean. However, the fridge was not properly cleaned and there was food from a previous guest. Most unopened so I left it there. The water pressure in the master bathroom sink was almost non existent and the toilet was constantly running. I traveled with my fur baby and her food and water bowl was overtaken by ants in the master bedroom. We noticed that they were coming from the bathroom. Also, our family reunion cupcakes that were on the kitchen counter were also overtaken by ants. I acknowledge that it's summer and ants will come in but there were just too many. Other than that the home was spacious and great. The pool needed cleaning probably due to the constant rain but we enjoyed the outside area. Overall, the home was in good condition with minor issues.

Fabulous Christmas Vacation

This was my first VRBO vacation. I was skeptical, but I have to say it was a wonderful experience. I was able to have my entire family and friends over for Christmas Eve. The house was immaculate, fully stocked and very comfortable for everyone. Will definitely rent this home again.

Outside space sells this place

We came in for a family wedding and used this house as our base. While the inside was sufficient for our needs, the lanai and backyard with pool were the real draw. Comfortable lounging on the lanai and a beautiful clean pool with plenty of outdoor seating. The kitchen was well appointed and easy to keep clean. One suggested improvement: more lamps/lighting in the living room and master bedroom. Thanks Joy!

Ever since I was young, I dreamed of owning a boutique hotel in the Florida Keys. While that’s still on my bucket list, I thought—why not start right here in this little slice of paradise?

I’m originally from South Bend, Indiana, but I’ve called Sarasota home since 1985. After graduating, I moved here and launched a magazine with my then-husband. We raised two wonderful kids, and I’m now a proud grandma to three amazing grandkids.

Life hasn’t always been easy. As a single mom, I juggled my printing company and freelance work, often putting in 50–90 hour weeks to support my family. Like many people, COVID turned my world upside down, forcing me to close my business. But it also gave me the chance to pause, take a breath, and start living for myself again. My daughter and I (my little “mini me”) set off to explore the beauty of the world—and I’ve been chasing sunsets and adventure ever since.

I’m passionate about music, live bands, motorcycle rides, paddleboarding, whitewater rafting, kayaking, hiking, snorkeling, boating, parasailing—you name it. If it involves nature and fresh air, count me in! And I never tire of walking the white sandy shores of Siesta Key, right here in our backyard.
