Thank you for the feedback — we take it seriously and we'd rather hear it than not. On the maintenance visits and communication: those visits were arranged because the guest raised issues she wanted addressed, and we had someone out the same day each time. Coordinating that involved our property manager and various service providers both reaching out, across VRBO's chat platform, text messages and calls — a lot of threads running at once during a week that was meant to be a vacation. We didn't mean for it to feel intrusive, and we're sorry it did. On cleanliness: the house is professionally cleaned between every stay. On this one, our guest arrived ahead of the 3pm check-in and asked us to have the crew finish up early so she could get settled. We accommodated that. We're sorry the result fell short. On the first level: the house sits close to the ocean and the ground floor runs humid in August the way houses on the island do. There's a dehumidifier down there for that reason. No guest has reported mold, and we checked after this review — there's none. On the beach badges: ten seasonal badges left the house at checkout and were returned only after Labor Day, by which point they had no use as the season ended. We bought replacements at weekly rates so the following guests weren't without beach access. We'd have handled it the same way for anyone. We wish this stay had gone better, and we're grateful for the guests who've told us what worked and what didn't.

As all residents and tourists in LBI and southern NJ experienced on 7/1/2024, there was unprecedented rainfall. When the tenant notified us of the wet floors and plumbing issue in the outdoor shower, we immediately contacted our property manager who swiftly prioritized the tenant’s needs. We had cleaners arrive with a wet vac within an hour to dry up the floors, and sent a plumber to rectify plumbing issues with the outdoor shower. Future tenants can take comfort that we rely on an efficient property manager who resides on LBI to assist with inconveniences caused by unexpected events out of property owner’s control (such as weather).

I have read your review on VRBO and am deeply disappointed in your impression of my home. I take pride in the cleanliness and maintenance of the property. If you were unhappy with the condition of the property, it was your responsibility to contact me immediately. Although I am not in the area, I do have someone that is on call at all times to inspect and repair any situations. If the plates, utensil, pots and pans, oven, stovetop, refrigerator and bathrooms were not up to your standards, you should have notified me and I would have resent the cleaning crew who would have recleaned up to your standards under your supervision. I have beautiful hardwood floors throughout the house with few area rugs. There is no extensive carpet in the house. If there was furniture that was in need of repair, a photo should have been taken and sent to us immediately. Unfortunately, the time you spent there, there were many rainy and windy days. You arrived on Saturday and trash collection days are on Tuesday and Thursday. Prior to your stay, you contacted my manager many times for information in which she graciously took the time to send you. You were sent information that clearly stated emergency numbers in case there was a problem.
