Vidunderligt strandhytte mellem motorveje i Kill Devil Hills NC. Dette sommerhus tilbyder 5 soveværelser, 3 komplette badeværelser, stor stue, køkken og spisestue med plads til 16 personer. Rec rum med poolbord, Air Hockey, fladskærm og bordtennisbord. Børn Den med TV og DVD. Indhegnet i baghaven og udendørs bruser

Gåafstand til stranden omkring 2 blokke eller 300 meter. Forfærdelige Arthur's Restaurant, nærbutik og indkøbscenter alle inden for gåafstand. Kmart, Teater, Food Lion, Belk's og shopping inden for 1/2 mil. 5-10 minutter til Nags Head, Kitty Hawk, Wright Brothers Memorial. En god dagstur ville være at køre ned ad stranden og virkelig se det bedste, som de ydre bredder har at tilbyde. Kort køretur gennem områderne Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo og Hatteras fører dig til færgen og en 30 minutters tur over til Ocracoke. Dette ville virkelig være et utroligt dagstur eventyr.

Se solopgangen med din morgenkaffe. Praktisk til golf, shopping, god spisning og sightseeing. Det forfriskende Atlanterhav ligger kun få skridt væk.

Lack of Communication

Older updated cottage. Needs some more updating in places.Dual coffee maker leaks on counter and in need of replacement. Hot water supply spotty. Leak under kitchen sink. Horrendous Wi-Fi as you can connect but no internet connection????? Contacted host via VRBO on Friday evening as of Monday when we checked out never any answer from host? I owned short term rental property in OBX and used a management company with much better experience. Is this reflection on VRBO or specific owner???? Unsure if using private rental in the future or stick with properties under property management services so guest communication and amenities are monitored in a timely manner.

Great family house.

Stayed over Thanksgiving and kitchen had everything we needed for a proper meal! Property just as description says! Clean and very easy to communicate with owners. Family of 9 had lots of room to play pool and ping pong, walked to fishing pier and tie dye shop. Would definitely stay again. Thanks.

Perfect Labor Day getaway

This was a wonderful stay . Location was great, very short walk to the beach and to Avalon pier ( great food and entertainment there btw). Home was clean and spacious . Well equipped kitchen if you want to cook ( We chose to enjoy local foods).Owners/host were very gracious and responded quickly . I will definitely stay here again !

Convenient large house 2 blocks from Avalon Pier. Great location and the game room basement is a plus for the kids

A Week Bacon In The Sun

Overall the cottage is comfortable, reasonably close to the beach as well as other restaurants and places we like to visit. There were a few items of safety concern, mostly because of the 1-6 year olds that were with us, that I submitted to the owner and property manager who took care of them immediately. We love the area and would be happy to return to this cottage.

Great Stay at Bacon in The Sun

If you are looking to stay in Kill Devil Hills, NC, I highly recommend Bacon in the Sun. The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic. The Darden’s have absolutely thought of everything for a great vacation. The house is a short 5 min walk to the beach and the Avalon Pier which has music every night. The house was clean and felt like home. The fenced in backyard was perfect for our dog who was able to run and play without worrying about being on a leash. There are lots of great restaurants close by also. You won’t be disappointed with staying here.

We were very pleased with the property, it was very clean, and was stocked with everything we needed. The location was great, and close to the beach and pier! We will definitely be back!

family beach vacay

We enjoyed our stay at BACON in the SUN! Location was great, easy walk to Avalon pier and the beach, and easy drive to grocery stores and restaurants. The house was as advertised, and everything was clean and in good working order. Young adult kids really enjoyed the game room. Older adults appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, and easy parking for 2 or 3 cars. The AC system worked very well, keeping the entire house cool even on hot days. The outdoor shower was clean, and even has hot water. Check-in and out was clearly explained and straightforward. Traffic noise was significant when on the deck, but not an issue inside. The property is only one house away from the busy highway running down the center of the island. Overall, would happily recommend to others.

Relaxing week near Avalon Pier

We were very pleased with this home. The owners thoughtfully stocked the house with everything you would need to relax and enjoy the beach. Such a great convenience to the beach and Avalon Pier. We look forward to staying at this house again in the future!

Wonderful birthday week!

I have to say this was one of the cleanest homes we have rented in the Outer Banks in many years. It has a great layout for family, with a game room and plenty of room for everyone to spread out. They provided all the amenities that you could possibly need for a great week. Thanks to the owners for a very enjoyable birthday vacation.

Perfect House for Family

Overall we had a wonderful stay at “Bacon in the sun” and definitely want to stay again. We had a few problem when we arrived and I called owner and he made them right quickly. They are a joy to work with. Once again can’t wait to plan our next trip with this house in mind.

Our vacation.

We really enjoyed the house. It was perfect for our family. There were many things to do nearby. The fenced in side yard was perfect for our dogs, giving them a chance to run outside unleashed. Thank you for offering this house.

Perfect Beach Getaway!

Our group thoroughly enjoyed this house! We spent the morning and evenings cooking in the beautiful kitchen, riding bikes, or relaxing on the deck! I will say, this is pet friendly and we LOVED the fenced in yard, but do your research as the beach is not pet friendly. That was my own fault. Thankfully we had rented a golf cart (not exactly necessary, it’s not a bad walk but our group had a lot of stuff) and we drove down to Kitty Hawk on the golf cart or truck. The highway isn’t loud at all and I was worried about that, since I’m not used to any night time noise. I will say it’s hard to get out if you are turning left on the main highway, but not a dealbreaker for us. Overall we really enjoyed it. I quickly booked this for our group really without any opinions because it was such a rare gem and I got so many compliments on finding such a great property! We will be back for sure!

Details to improve

1.-The photos only show how beautiful the house is. 2.- The shared bathroom for 2 rooms needs to be improved. 3.- There is a musty smell in the basement. 4.- The kitchen oven was not clean and we had to clean it to be able to use it. 5.-I think you (VRBO) should have staff that check properties regularly and not just go by the photos that clients post.

Good Experience

Pros: Great price and great location. Very close to the beach and restaurants! The house was very spacious and had a well stocked kitchen. There was a pool table and air hockey and multiple tvs. The deck was really nice. Lots of seating in the kitchen. It is dog friendly and has a fenced in backyard. The beds were very comfortable. Cons: The overall house just felt kind of dingy and had a musty smell. The house needs a deep clean, there was insufficient lighting in kitchen and backyard had old boards & cigarette butts in the yard. The first 3 people who showered got hot water but whoever was last got a cold one.

Beach getaway

Love the house and location. I would give it a 5 all except for it needs a deep, deep cleaning. The downstairs has mold/mildew issues very strong smells making it not habitable to sleep. We did not use the two bedrooms downstairs and squeezed upstairs to sleep at night. Not the greatest communication with owner about this. The house is not inexpensive to rent and we needed the extra bedrooms and basically paid for a 3 bedroom.

Family vacation

The rooms/layout/general provisions met our expectations. The housekeeping staff did not start cleaning this home until close to 4 pm on the arrival day. We did not gain access to the house until about 5:40 pm, and we found the cleaning to have been inadequate. The floor was dirty/sticky; there was sand and dirt swept under a rug in the living room; plates, utensils, and cookware were put away in the cupboards and drawers with solid food residue. We found a wallet with a credit card and cash under a sofa. Furniture surfaces were dirty. There were several items that were broken—a bedroom door broken off its hinges; the pneumatic storm door closer on the front door was broken and kept gouging the inner wood door, necessitating that we take it off; there was broken glass on a carpeted floor in the basement. We had 2 children in our party ages 15 months and 2 years. We shared this information with the owner via email, and he responded with a statement of intention to inspect the property and make necessary repairs. Aside from these issues, our extended family had a great week at OBX.
