Woodpecker House - One of Vrbo’s 2025 Vacation Rental of the Year

Set in the quiet town of Jewett, nestled among the Catskill Mountains is the Woodpecker House. It is a haven for a quiet, peaceful getaway, shielded from the surroundings, but incredibly convenient for reaching nearby towns and activities. Hunter & Windham are both only 10 min away boasting plenty of skiing, hiking and dining opportunities.

It's a place to enjoy the outdoors with friends and family, have a nice meal, play games, light a fire or relax in the hot tub. A place to make memories!

The Woodpecker House is set on almost 3 acres of land with all year-round mountain views. You can take advantage of the big open lawn in the front for outdoor sports and activities or head to the back of the property to explore the woods.

Our deck features a large wooden farm table and a Weber BBQ gas grill to enjoy a beautiful meal outdoors. There is also a hot tub as well as a large fire pit for you to enjoy. A picturesque old ski gondola completes the picture.

You'll enter the house through a welcoming foyer with space for your shoes, jackets and ski equipment. From there you'll step into a big entertainment space on the lower level of the house. You can enjoy our games corner with a vintage arcade game and table soccer, hang out at the bar mixing your favorite drink or relax close to a charming wood-burning stove. There is also a TV with streaming services available. In addition, you'll find a room with a queen bed, a full bathroom with shower as well as a laundry closet with washer and dryer on this floor.

Walking up the stairs you'll reach the main living space of the house with an open floor plan, vaulted ceilings and a gorgeous window front allowing you to enjoy the surroundings. You can put on a record and relax in front of the large fireplace, watch a movie on a 75inch TV or choose one of the many board games to play. A large dining table and a well-equipped kitchen with numerous appliances and bar seating is available as well. You can also step outside on the balcony to enjoy your morning coffee with mountain views, bird watching or get lost in looking at the stars at night.

There are three bedrooms located on the main level of the house as well as a full bath. All four beds are queen size Zinus memory foam mattresses with toppers and high quality linen. We also provide sustainable bathroom essentials from Public Goods.
