Vi var meget heldige med orkanen Irma ... vi havde minimal tagskader, og vi er glade for at sige vi havde et nyt metal tag installeret. Hjemmet er friskmalet, og vi er klar til dit besøg i Paradis!

Velkommen til 'Shangri-La'. Det er her du kan slappe af og nyde de rolige skønhed af sol, hav og sand af Florida Keys. Tilbring eftermiddagen 'lazying rundt' på den rummelige veranda / Lanai eller den store åbne dæk med udsigt over kanalen.

Denne CANAL-FRONT HOME er indrettet i klassisk Keys stil. Denne tre-værelses, to-bad hjem har alt hvad du kan ønske til din tropiske ferie flugt! Seks mennesker sove komfortabelt med en king-size seng i soveværelset, en queen-size i det andet soveværelse og to enkeltsenge i det tredje soveværelse.

Master bedroom har tv, eget badekar og en dobbelt størrelse skab. Et fuldt udstyret køkken med alt du behøver for at tilberede de simpleste måltider eller en gourmet speciale; for din komfort, er der padle fans i hvert værelse sammen med centrale klimaanlæg. Keramiske fliser gulve overalt hjem, screenet i veranda med udsigt over kanalen og en ekstra stor åben side dæk, fantastisk til solbad. En grill er til rådighed til madlavning din fangst!

»Shangri-La" er også en fisker paradis ..... bringe din båd, fordi vi er kun få minutter til havet og nogle af de bedste baglandet fiskeri omkring! Tag en dag at nyde de mange vidundere Key West eller forbedre din tan på Bahia Honda State Park (bådudlejning også tilgængelige i nærheden for fiskeri, snorkling, dykning, osv). Vi er kun én kanal (cirka. 500 ft) i fra det åbne vand!

Shangra La vacation

Lois and Butch were excellent hosts and did everything in their power to ensure our happiness and comfort while staying in their home. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything needed for our two month stay.

Good water access to gulf and ocean. Home was clean and AC worked well keeping it comfortable inside when it was very hot outside. Short walk to Square Grouper / New New Joint, and drive to Key West. Great vacation.

Great Location

House is in great location, close to Maddie's for groceries, Tonio's for any meal, and the Cudjoe Gardens boat ramp. Pictures are exactly what you see and very clean. You will need to provide everything for staying there..toliet paper, dish soap, trash bags, etc. Loved sitting on porch in morning drinking coffee, though suggest something to create shade on both screened porches and deck area as sun was brutal after lunch into the evening.

Treasure in the Tropics!

I couldn't believe how beautiful all of the Florida Keys were! It was our first time traveling throughout the keys and this Cudjoe Key house was just the home we were looking for. It was clean, comfortable and the location was so close to many amazing restaurants; Not to mention less then a 30 minute drive to Key West. I loved the porch/balcony and the screened in lanai. I cant wait to re visit this house and bring some guests with us!

The rental was beautifully decorated and perfectly located. We loved the porches and the canal. Local restaurants were great. Everything we needed was in the house. The only negative was the living furniture. It was cute but not very comfy for old folks! Still, I would recommend it. Thanks to the owners for allowing us to stay.

Nice, well equipped home

The house was very neat and clean. We loved the "sun porch" and shady deck. It is in a perfect place between Big Pine Key for shopping, etc. and Key West for interesting evenings. The neighbor is an avid fisherman which makes for lively viewing from the deck. A great white heron visited almost every night. We named him Charlie. The owners resolved what could have been a very difficult situation quickly and easily. Thank you for letting us share your Keys home.

Perfect house in lower keys

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Shangri-La the month of March. Thanks to Ed and Lois for letting us stay in their home. They were pleasant to talk with and very accommodating! The house was well kept and had everything we needed. Very comfortable for Easter dinner with friends we invited. We love that area of the keys, being quiet but anything you want only a short distance away. We took our bikes and enjoyed all the bike paths in the area. At the end of the street we got on the transit bus that took us down to Duval Street, the heart of Key West. (Only $1.50 for seniors) Looking forward to staying here again in the future. Second visit just as good as the first!

When we planned on making our 2nd trip down to the Florida Keys, it was without thought that we book The Shangri-La home in Cudjoe. Great spacious home with all the comforts of home & close to so many attractions. Owners could not be more accommodating. From the minute we made our inquiry right up until checking out, they both were so helpful & wanting to make sure we had another 5 star experience. The weather was more cooperative this time around so we got to enjoy the wrap around deck overlooking the lagoon equipped with grill that we cooked our fresh caught dinners on which was a plus! I noticed upgraded bed linens from our last visit and some fresh new décor. Home is well taken care of & we cannot wait to return for our 3rd time! Would highly recommend to others, which we have!

Our most favorite vacation!

Thank you Lois and Ed. The house was exactly as pictured. We enjoyed the location-quite close to Key West with none of the craziness. We had a problem with an appliance and the owners took care of it immediately. We enjoyed dining at The Square Grouper, visiting Bahia Honda Park and kayaking through the mangroves. We loved the manatee that visited our canal and having breakfast every morning on the lanai. We did wish for more comfortable seating in the living room-very hard. Our biggest disappointment was that it had already been taken for next Febuary!! We would have definetly returned.

Perfect and peaceful Keys Gem !

This is my third time returning to Shangri La and first time returning since Irma... the owners made a lot of wonderful updates to the already beautiful home right on the waterfront! New deck with pathway solar lights, new sliding glass doors, updated patio furniture and the entire home was freshly painted! The home has everything you need for a perfect getaway... the neighborhood is peaceful and quiet... many evenings just spent on the outside screened in porch watching the sun set! The house is centrally located with nearby stores, restaurants and only 20 mins from key west!! We enjoyed days at the beautiful Bahia Honda state park, fishing trip in Key West and all the essentials needed at the house to cook our fresh catch!! Shangri La is clean and well kept and will continue to be our go to for our Keys getaways! The owners are friendly and quickly available for any questions you may have... enjoy your stay!!

Yet to disappoint!

3rd time staying at the Shangi-La Cudjoe home & it was our best experience yet! We were concerned about the area from Irma, but the owners assured us their home, and all our fav spots, were rebuilt quickly. Many new upgrades to the home included bright, colorful paint colors in every room (really gives it that Keys vibe), new slider out to the grilling patio, new outdoor furniture in the enclosed screen porches (my fav place to relax at the end of the night!) as well as a new dock. We hit a lot of the tourist spots, like Key West for a night {{YOU MUST VISIT THE BUTTERFLY EXHIBIT!}} and even rented a 18' boat from Cudjoe Gardens Marina just a mile or 2 away... That was super fun, we enjoyed lunch on Picnic Island, swam under the American Shoal lighthouse, and even got our very own dolphin show from a friendly school of HUGE bottlenose dolphins! If you visit the Keys, you MUST eat at The Square Grouper which is less than a mile away, we lucked out being down for stone crab season & indulged on those throughout our stay... A perfect stay once again, owners are super easy to communicate with and we can't wait to return again next year!

The GOOD, the BAD and the UGLY

The GOOD :Fishing in area is good. The BAD: Dirty canal can’t swim. Bay very shallow, many prop trails where outboard props have hit. Owners old boat up on dock makes activities along dock very cumbersome, not shown in ad. Living room furniture is subpar, cheap and not very comfortable. Thermostat is wi-fi. Owners can control and they do. It changes to a higher temp. Very small TV in master bedroom that is difficult to view from bed. Shower in master so small you can’t turn around in. Front door rotted at bottom. Sliding doors very hard to open/close. Doors do not lock properly so securing your items is always a concern. Laundry doors are rotted off rail system so don’t open/close them or owners may deduct that from your deposit. Neighbors on left have two German Sheppard’s, one friendly, the other will charge you and nip at you. Neighbors on right leave early mornings on boat and can be noisy , no alarm clock needed. Their dog barks constantly at everything that goes up/down the canal. Linens are in very rough shape. The Ugly: We rented this property August 1-31 of 2016 and 2017. Please note that the review done for August of 2016 was NOT done by us! (How many more reviews falsified?). We decided we liked fishing there and told owners to keep deposit and we would rent for same time in 2017. Owners changed rental contract , we signed the contract in haste, assuming things were the same as the previous year. Owner failed to mention any changes. The home was a pig pen not ready for us when we arrived Aug 1st, 2017. It was cleaned later that night and the owners acknowledged they had made a mistake on the dates. After we returned home we were told our deposit would not be given in full. We had not done any damage to the property but were told half of deposit would be kept for electric bill because we stayed over 31 days. How leaving on the morning of the 31st day is justification to keep half of deposit. What seemed wrong was how owners justified keeping any part of our deposit .They didn’t care that we lost first day due to waiting for cleaning lady to clean a filthy house (she left at 9:30 at night). We wouldn’t bring any of our items into filthy home. Lost first day and second day was spent moving into the property. We overlooked all negatives about this property but we will NOT accept the lack of integrity and decency of the owners. Beware of fabricated reasons to not get your full deposit back. Would NOT recommend.

Paradise to Getaway

Thank you both for letting us stay at your terrific home. Also thank you for your kind words regarding my wife’s cleaning. She’s old school and believes it is important to treat others belonging as if they were yours. I would highly recommend your home to anyone looking for paradise to getaway, clear your head, fish, enjoy your surroundings and all the lower keys have to offer. OK if you're a boater or fisherman

Best aspects of this house were the instant hot water and water pressure for showering. Porch and decks was awesome. Furniture and mattresses were not that great. Cars were constant on the road where 2 bedrooms were located. Decor and supplies were on the cheap side. The WiFi speed was quite poor. When we first arrived, there was a large dog constantly barking 2 doors down. After a week of this we called the SPCA and thankfully, the worker drove over to speak to the owner and it finally stopped. We love the beach and there were none around the area; we'd go to Key West or to Bahai Honda. It would have been nice to have some beach chairs provided or bikes or a kayak.

July 2020 Keys Rental

We stayed at the property for July 2020. We had two boats (22 ft and 24 ft) which were easily accommodated at the dock. For the fishing group like us, there is a new shaded cleaning table and a freezer on site which was great. There is use of the screened lower level back porch for storage and relaxation. The house was clean and well furnished and comfortable and the owners are really nice and returned any calls/messages promptly. This area is great for families looking to vacation in a less tourist/crowded area than Key West or Marathon but each island is only a short ride away. This is a family neighborhood with a mix of rental houses and permanent homeowners and we felt very safe in the neighborhood walking during the early morning/late afternoon hours as well as leaving all of our gear at the rear of the residence.

Perfect getaway

Great home, great location for fishing and restaurants without going to Key West. Kitchen was fully equipped wurh essentials. Owners very easy to work with. Will recommend to others and can't wait to go back!

Wonderful vacation

This is not my first time staying at Shangrila. Upon arrival I found the interior had been freshly painted & decorated. A new sliding glass door & entry door have been installed recently also. The furniture on the screened in porch is very comfortable. The next door neighbor is an avid fisherman & is very informative & helpful. I found the canal to be a good fishing spot. Cudjoe Bay is a great fishing area & only minutes away by boat. Two of the best places to eat, Mangrove Mama's & Square Grouper, are only minutes from the house. Key West is a great place to visit & is only about a half hour away. I look forward to returning to Shangrila soon.

Just what my family needed!

We absolutely enjoyed everything the Shangri-La had to offer! All the beds and linens were clean, it was equiped with all the cookware we needed, the neighborhood is very calm & quiet. We enjoyed everyday waking up having coffee on the beautiful porch watching the sunrise! There is a perfect view of the sunrise facing East with no home obstruction during the Month of May. We were also able to catch the sunset in the evening from the porch also! We had great weather and luckily noseeums were NOT an issue, but the screened in porch surly would have been safe haven if they were to be a problem. The owners were available by phone with a few questions I had regarding the property and they made wonderful recommendations for local restaurants in the area! We will definitely return!!

Great vacation getaway home

Overall was a great april getaway..close enough to key West and other great spots. Loved the lanai for mornings and after dinner cocktails and sitting outside and seeing the stars. Home had everything that was needed. Weather was perfect too! Thank you for a great vacation spot!

Truly Shangrila

This is our 3rd time staying at Shangrila. I have always found the owners to be pleasant & accommodating. We arrived to find the house freshly painted & clean. We enjoyed having morning coffee & snacks while lounging on the new furniture in the screened upper level area. I fished almost every day from the new dock, caught a variety of fish & enjoyed cooking them on the gas grill on the open upper level deck. We all enjoyed the short trip to Key West, only about 25 minutes away. The next door neighbor is an avid fisherman & offered help & advice when asked. We are looking forward to visiting again nest year.

I discovered this little Key called 'Cudjoe' when I was invited to help a friend move from NJ in 1984. I fell in love with the crystal clear Caribbean-like water and the warm year round climate. My family and I knew this was the place we wanted to build our Shangri-La II. Close enough to the excitement of Key West and only minutes to some of the best fishing spots, scuba diving and restaurants around. This is the second home I've built and owned in Cudjoe and am looking forward to others enjoying Shangri-La II as well!!

60' boat dock/wide canal with shaded fish cleaning station. 500' to Cudjoe bay known for its awesome Bonefish and Tarpon fishing! Quick and easy access to the Atlantic or Gulf for fishing, diving, lobstering, snorkeling or just relax watching a sunset in the bay. Shangri-La II awaits you, your friends and family at the end of your adventurous day, comfortably accommodating a family/group of 6. Large outside deck for sunning or stargazing and a screened lanai for entertaining. Wonderful, safe neighborhood minutes away from some of the Keys best restaurants! Square Grouper, 420 Lounge, Bent Prop, Broil, Mangrove Mamas... Shangri-La II is located at mile marker 23 making it easy to access to Key West for more fun and adventure. Come enjoy "Shangri-La II in Paradise"! Long term renters are welcome as well.
