Tranquility is yours at this gorgeous, private mountain home located midway between the ski slopes of Sugar and Beech Mountains. Nestled into a 43-acre farm, you'll love the pastoral charm and incredible mountain views, with picturesque barns and a pond in the foreground. Enjoy it each day on 20 acres of walking trails, including five acres of rhododendron thicket. The wooded hills above take you to the top of the northern edge of Beech Mountain. In the winter, you'll be ideally located for sledding, tubing, and skiing at Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain; come summer, you'll enjoy world-class hiking and mountain biking, great breweries and wineries, as well as nearby festivals and concerts

Inside, you'll find incredible mountain views from every room, hardwood floors, and abundant natural light as it pours in the large picture windows. Snuggle up together in front of the gas fireplace in the living room while you stream the latest release and whip up your favorite meals in the full, well-equipped kitchen. Challenge your friends and family to a game of chess; read a book from the small library provided; and keep dinner simple with the gas grill and an alfresco meal on the deck. End the evening with a relaxing soak in the hot tub and a toast around the firepit to booking the perfect Banner Elk getaway.

Home needs safety improvements. Porch stairs are rotten and splintered. Grounds could use som cleanup. Nice view and comfortable master.

Sweet little house

We took a quick trip for less than 48 hours to Grandfather mountain for a parent weekend getaway. Tranquility was the perfect home away from home. It was very clean, photos were accurate of the property. We enjoyed the hot tub and seeing different wildlife right in the backyard. Would recommend.

Wonderful Weekend!

My wife and I stayed for a weekend and had a great time. The house is perfect for a couple or small family. We were able to enjoy a quiet night in the hot tub but we were also very close to Banner Elk for entertainment and multiple ski slopes. We would love to return!

Magnificent

The property is beautiful and the views are incredible! Everything you need is in the house already as well as user friendly instructions for equipment. We have stayed in other houses 2x before and Tranquility house tops them both! Plus I Greatly Appreciate the fact that we didn't have to clean anything upon departure!!! Thank you very much! We would love to come again

Weekend at Oz

Love the space and the views! The home was very clean but the outdoor furniture could have been hosed off prior to our visit (many spiderwebs). The sunrise and sunset from the living room windows and the fire pit were out of this world, and we saw plenty of deer and happy birds every morning. We stayed during Autumn at Oz and this home was fairly close to Beech Mountain. I would most definitely stay here again - wonderful mountain getaway!

Beautiful and peaceful

Love the house and location. A little concerned at first about lack of A/C in early July, but the mountain breezes through open screened windows with fans running were perfect, even in 80 degree weather. Always love a hot tub and it was nice that it is on a sheltered side of the house and porch. Saw quit a few deer, even a fawn in the undergrowth behind the porch. Proximity to town is really nice while the road was pretty quiet.

We loved the comfort and Mountain views. The mountain air is so refreshing.

Loved being able to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary trip in this beautiful cabin and scenery. Very peaceful and relaxing. Walking around the pond was enjoyable. Yes even at our age.

The cottage is the perfect place to unwind relax and enjoy PEACE!! Lots of privacy, hot tub was AMAZING, house is labeled with instructions, close to downtown....just BOOK....U WONT BE DISAPPOINTED ❤️

Great Winter house!

What a beautiful view! Perfect place for a morning coffee by the main window! Great hot tub, comfortable beds and pretty fireplace! Close to downtown Banner Elk as well. We will be back next year!

Great Winter Retreat

The living room has huge southern facing windows which not only create great views but provide passive solar heat when it is cold. We were always cozy without having to turn the heat up. Our winter vacation is mainly reading good books, but during the week we stay is when the college football conferences have their playoffs. Huge screen TV above the fireplace is perfect.

Spectacular views

The views from this house are absolutely beautiful !! we were there for the full season and it was so beautiful. we enjoyed the fire pit in the front of the house as well as the hot tub. The house is so close to downtown Banner Elk only five minutes. Two minutes to the Banner elk winery which we enjoyed and went numerous times. Food Lion supermarket is a short, eight minutes beautiful drive. The location is perfect. We will definitely go back to this house and would recommend it. 👍👍

Amazing Cottage

Girl's weekend trip for Land of Oz..

Place was very nice and had all the amenities you needed and so peaceful.. Unfortunately it rained so we didn't' get to enjoy outside much but there may be a next time I hope.

App State Football Weekend

Wonderful stay! This property was exactly as advertised! Cute and cozy but plenty of room to visit. We enjoyed the fire pit after the game having drinks with friends. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bed was so comfy and the hot tub was great for relaxing in the evenings. The view was amazing. Everything was perfect! Thank you!

Great property!!

This is the second time we have stayed at the Tranquility House and it is a great property! Extremely clean and a view out the front door of the Appalachian Mountains. Roku TVs in the den and bedroom. Well stock kitchen with everything you need for your cooking. Banner Elk is a wonderful town with lots to do. We love walking and there is a lovely park in the center of town. Lowe's is a great grocery with high end seafood and meats. There is a winery right down the street and a brewery in town. There is a property manager who is very helpful. Highly recommend this property!!

Amazing!!!!

What a great weekend!!! Everything was perfect. Very clean and exactly as described. Watching the fireflies from the hot tub was a bonus. We will def stay again.

Pleasant Week

We really enjoyed our stay at the Tranquility Cottage. The mattress and bedding were very comfortable. While we did not cook much except for breakfast, the kitchen was well equipped for cooking full meals. The hot tub was nice to have. We saw many small animals on the property such as chipmunk, gopher, fawn, bunny. The view was breathtaking. We liked that the location was secluded but less than a ten minute drive to restaurants in Banner Elk. Except for the driveway, there were paved roads to get to the cottage. The only recommendation we would have would be for the cleaning people to leave some A/C on or windows open if the weather is above 80 degrees when guests arrive. There is no central Air but 2 room units that are slightly noisy. When we arrived, the place was like an oven and it took many hours to cool it down. After the first day, the weather was in the 70's so we only needed to open the windows and then it was very pleasant. Overall though a great stay.
