Hale Mar - Gorgeous Oceanfront Home with Private Pool & Hot Tub

Welcome to Hale Mar, your relaxing oceanfront retreat just south of Hilo on the beautiful Puna coast.

After parking in the gated driveway, enter through the double doors and pause a moment to take in the expansive ocean view just beyond the pool and hot tub waiting for you in the backyard. Hale Mar was constructed in 2004 and designed to showcase the oceanfront location.

The great room features an open kitchen with an electric flat top range, side by side fridge and freezer, dishwasher, double sink and all the small appliances and equipment you will need to prepare and serve meals. Standing at the black quartz counters while you cook and prep offers a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. A breakfast bar with a row of chairs completes the kitchen set up.

Just beyond the kitchen, you'll find the dining table to one side, and the living room area with comfy seating and large tv to the other. A ceiling fan cools the space along with the ocean breeze.

Throw open the sliding glass door and step outside onto the lanai and grassy yard that surrounds the pool and hot tub. In the corner of the yard closest to the ocean you'll find a hammock nestled underneath the palm trees. You couldn't ask for a better spot to kick back and enjoy the sound of the waves as they crash against the black lava sea cliffs. Choose from chaise lounges and rocking chairs as you relax by the pool and watch the ocean.

Head back inside and head down the hallway to find the lower level bedrooms, each behind their beautifully carved bas relief wooden doors.

The first bedroom on the ocean side offers a full size bed, dresser, reading lamps, and large closet. You'll also find a sliding glass door that leads to the pool area. The open slider allows the ocean breeze to flow into the bedroom and the ceiling fan keeps the air moving. Another small lanai is outside here as well, with more chairs, an outdoor dining table, and the charcoal grill.

Further down the hall you will find a queen bedroom, also on the ocean side. There's a ceiling fan, large closet, and nightstands with reading lamps. At the very end of the hallway is a single bed bedroom with a ceiling fan, desk, and door to yet another outdoor sitting area with several more chairs, just around the corner from the pool and hot tub.

Across the hall from the ocean side bedrooms is a full bathroom with a shower over tub.

Head back through the great room through the other doorway to find the large laundry room. Head up the stairs to find the expansive master suite with a dramatic ohia four post king bed, sitting areas, wet bar, wall mounted tv, and full bathroom with double sinks and walk-in slate tile shower. Curtains all around provide privacy and - along with the ceiling fan - keep the room comfortably cool. Open up the sliding glass door to let in the breeze and step out to your private lanai with table and chairs, perfect for relaxing with your morning coffee or evening cocktail. External stairs lead right down to the yard, pool, hammock, and hot tub.

Hale Mar is located in Hawaiian Paradise Park, Kea’au, 19 miles from charming, laid back Hilo, 33 miles from stunning Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, and centrally located all that the East side of Hawai’i Island has to offer. Then again, you might decide to stick around the house, enjoy the pool and hot tub, and watch the whales (in season), dolphins and turtles from the hammock!
