Enjoy Lake Travis on our cozy classic 42 ft Gibson houseboat: Casa Ocaso!

Watch the beautiful sunsets on our rooftop deck lounge area. Take the paddle board out on the water or take a cozy nap while the waves in the marina rock you to sleep. BBQ/Cook with family and friends right on the water with our propane grill and side burner. Casa Ocaso offers 1 bedroom with a Queen bed, a living room with a pull-out full sofa bed, and its own private swim deck . Well stocked kitchen. 1 full-sized bathroom. The curtains open up to large windows that have a view of the back deck and water. There is also a full bathroom available with a shower, macerator toilet, and sink with plenty of medicine cabinet space and shampoo, conditioner and body soap available for use. Next is the very spacious kitchenette with plenty of countertop space and cabinet space filled with all your kitchen necessities. Please note, there is not a stove top or oven available, instead the propane grill outside provides a burner for your stove top dishes. A mid size refrigerator provides plenty of room for an HEB haul and an equally impressive amount of freezer space. Up a couple of steps you'll step into the Living room where a Love Seat couch faces the large windows/sliding glass door giving you an indoor option for sunset watching. Here you will find some books, card games and another TV with a provided Firestick. When you walk outside, towards the front of the boat you'll be met with the Propane BBQ pit with side burner (propane is provided). BBQ utensils are found in the kitchen. Towards the back of the boat you'll find your favorite place to be. You have an option to stay on ground level and sunbath on the turf feeling like you're in you backyard but surrounded by water, or go on a paddle board ride to explore or bring your fishing pole and have a cold nice beer or even better yet: head up the ladder and sit on the outdoor furniture to the get the best view in the house! On busy weekends and Holidays, enjoy the people watching from the charters coming and going all day!! What an adventure!!
Enjoy a brewery, distillery and restaurants as close as 1.5 miles away!

Please understand this is an almost 50-year-old houseboat at a rental/charter Marina, there will be some bugs, party people, waves, and maybe even rain. Come ready to have fun and don't sweat the uncontrollable!

The boat was great, surprisingly comfortable, and the views of the lake (especially at sunset) were spectacular!

Not impressed

If you need a place to stay in an emergency then this works. Portable ac unit in the bedroom blows loud, ants on the counter and spider webs. Showered in luke warm water.

Terrible

The pictures were not anywhere close of what the property looks like. There were spiders and cobwebs all over the outside. It was musty and smelly on the inside. We turned around and left immediately. I contacted The property manager for a refund and I’m waiting for my refund.

Great little getaway

Very detailed and thorough instructions which made it a breeze. The outdoor area is super cool for relaxing. Would definitely go again.

Great place for the money

Really enjoyed the upper deck and people watching when the party boats came in for the day. It’s a walk, suggest checking in first and getting the wagon provided. Also rented a pontoon boat for one day, highly recommend. It was very hot and AC couldn’t keep up. Needs a hot plate or air fryer. If you do go in and out, parking is 20$. Overall really enjoyed our stay!

the boat house was super clean and cozy! We loved it just the lack of communnication, we didn't know about the parking fee or that we need to download an app to commuincate with the owner of the boat. otherwise everything else was good

Amazing Time

Had an absolutely amazing time! Beautiful sunsets, had a blast people watching as they come in off the charters! Had a couple hiccups, but the property owners were quick to get this fixed and corrected! They were there for any and all questions! I will be booking again in the future!

Romantic & Fun Birthday Celebration!

We were in Austin for business and stayed an extra night to celebrate my husband's birthday, and the houseboat seemed like the perfect adventure! Communication was fantastic with the owners, and the staff at the marina was very helpful! The houseboat is darling, and even though the weather didn't cooperate, we had a great time! The bed was comfortable, and all the unique features of a houseboat made it feel special.

Great place!

The listing was accurate and the place is lovely. We came to town for an event and only stayed one night. It was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The host was accommodating and the communication was excellent and prompt. We will definitely be returning for a longer trip next time!

Hello!! Our names are Royce and Sophia and we would love to host your next stay on Lake Travis! We love to travel, camp, find wild adventures and visit new breweries. We are water rats and always find ourselves near a body of water. Our first date: Lake Placid. Our first house: Canyon Lake. And now our first Houseboat: Lake Travis. We first bought Casa Ocaso during the 2020 pandemic as a means to have a place for a staycation. Night after night we enjoyed the beautiful sunset, the calming waves of boat passerbyers and it finally dawned on us, why don't we share this with the world!! So, after some whole hearted upgrades so guests can feel more comfortable, we present to you, Casa Ocaso, the Sunset House.

Casa Ocaso is found at the only marina on Lake Travis to allow short term rentals, therefore, it provides a very unique stay. Amenities provide a queen size bed in a private bedroom, plenty of closet and drawer space and a TV with a Firestick (please note there is no wifi available, we encourage our guests to either "unplug" or use their phone as a hotspot if wanting to stream).
