Ursa Major House - Quiet family getaway, minutes from skiing, hiking, biking.

Welcome to the Ursa Major House. This house was acquired in the spring of 2022. All furnishings and hot tub are brand new. Every bedroom has had a mini split unit installed, providing each room with heat and air-conditioning. The kitchen/living room also has a mini split unit. This system is additional to the baseboard heating system found throughout the home.

This 4 bedroom and 3 bath house with private wooded yard is your perfect year round getaway. Minutes away from Sunday River resort, Mt. Abrams, Bethel center, Cross country skiing, snowmobile and ATV trails. Amenities include a fully stocked kitchen mudroom, game room, hot tub, fire pit, 2 car garage and air conditioning.

This is one of the only properties in Bethel that comes with garage access. Guests will be provided with a virtual garage door opener via an app during their stay. I have had two full size trucks parked inside, so it is definitely large. Keep your vehicle out of the elements. No need to clean snow off of your car before heading off to the mountain to ski. 1-2 cars can be parked in the garage, depending on the size of the vehicles.

We were a family of seven, 6 adults, one infant and we very much enjoyed our stay! Home is very clean, beautifully decorated, and has everything you could possibly need. Showers were wonderful as was the hot tub. Trevor is a great communicator and got back to us immediately if we messaged him. Great location! Minutes to the mountain and restaurants.We highly recommend and would definitely consider staying here again!!

We absolutely LOVED this property! The kitchen was well stocked so cooking with a big crowd was very easy. The game room was spectacular and gave us lots to do while we were at the house. The hot tub was fabulous especially after a day outdoors. The beds were very comfortable and it was great to have so many bathrooms. The host was very responsive and thoughtful with all the things you might need. Great location, quiet and woodsy but still close to town. If we could rate higher than 5 we would!

The host was very accommodating and extremely quick to respond during check out and check in. Instructions for everything were very thorough so there was no need to ask anything during the stay. The house itself was perfectly set up I didn't fully understand how many features it had until we were actually in the house, from boot warmers, games, mini split HVAC units in each room, multiple tankless water heaters, and even included laundry detergent I was blown away by what this host provided. Location to Sunday river was within 15 minutes incredibly easy to get to/from the mountain. Truly a great house I couldn't recommend more.

I stayed at the Ursa Major House over Christmas with my family and everything was perfect! The house was very clean and nicely decorated. The furniture was comfortable, and there was plenty of space for everyone. The game room was great for entertaining the older kids and the hot tub was a nice treat in the middle of winter. The kitchen was fully stocked and had everything we needed for our family dinners. Trevor was very communicative and the check-in and check-out process was easy. I would highly recommend this house and would love to stay here again if in the area!

We were in Bethel for a family ski trip (5 adults) and this property was perfect for our stay. Excellent and attentive host and a very nice house throughout. Everyone was comfortable, kitchen was well appointed, and the hot tub and games were nice amenities. The location was quiet and close to town and Sunday River. Great space! Big living space around the fire place, and large dining room table to gather around. The kitchen was fully stocked with any utensil, appliance, and cookware you'll need. Plenty of large bathrooms and the four bedrooms were large and comfortable. The hot tub was hot and ready and lights that came on automatically made it a great place to relax.

The home was very clean. Beds were comfortable. I liked that that the master bedroom had its own bathroom with a shower and also two more full bathrooms in the home. New technology for individual heating in bedrooms and living room. A warm gas fireplace was appreciated. Plenty of towels available and they smelled freshly laundered. Kitchen was well-appointed. All in all a great stay. TY.

House was everything and more than it was made out to be, couldn’t be happier. Everything in the house was quality. Privacy outside was great, very clean inside and out, you would never know it’s pet friendly. Very well stocked, plenty of towels, pots and pans, cooking oils and spices, toilet paper, board games and movies, internet is fast and water pressure was great. Heat pumps in every room. My only “complaint” would be that most of the doors were hard to open and close and it’s more of a personal preference but there is no tv’s in the bedrooms. Highly recommend!

Fantastic place

We stayed here as a group of 9 friends for a ski weekend and this place was absolutely perfect for us. The house was extremely clean and a great size for our group. We loved the hot tub, living room setup and games in the house. Sunday River is only a 12 minute drive from the house. Trevor, the host, was wonderfully communicative and our check-in and check-out processes were very easy. We would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect Bethel Get Away

House was just as advertised. Very well stocked with everything you need. Kids had a blast with all the games in the basement. Very nicely decorated home. Perfect location for going into downtown Bethel or skiing at Sunday River. Highly recommend! Host was very responsive with questions.

Christmas Ski Weekend

Perfect house for our family Christmas ski weekend and probably our best VRBO experience. The house was clean, fully stocked, and even decorated for Christmas. Trevor made sure we had everything we needed and quickly responded to our questions. The house was spacious and had large common areas for hanging out. The location was perfect for skiing at Sunday River and the hot tub was great for after a day on the slopes. The kids were kept busy with all the toys in the basement. The host has clearly put a lot of thought and effort into the rental to make sure guest have everything they need while there. Would 10/10 recommend this property.

Beautiful House

My family had a wonderful time in this house. The house is very well appointed, we loved the fact that towels were provided for use of the hot tub, this is never the case in most places. The house is decorated nicely and made us feel right at home. I highly recommend this property and I will definitely stay here again, Thank you Trevor.

Amazing stay!

We had a fantastic stay at Ursa Major House. The house was absolutely perfect for our two families with kids. House is well-appointed and stocked with all you need. As a bonus, the hot tub, kids game room, and fireplace were loved by all! Trevor the host was the most responsive host I have ever connected with. Highly recommend!

GREAT family vacation place!

Stayed to ski with out family. House was very clean, well appointed, and Trevor is amazingly responsive. Trevor checked in several times while we were there and answered questions immediately. Great location for Sunday River and close to restaurants in Bethel.

Very responsive

We happened to rent during a week of terrible storms and flooding. Under these extenuating circumstances, Trevor was supportive and helpful. The place is set up perfectly for a family and we would definitely go there again.

Great house and vacation

Ski Weekend

Great property with a very responsive host. Everything was easy from check-in to check-out. House was very clean, comfy and well stocked. Kitchen is roomy. Fireplace is awesome. We had an excellent weekend. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Absolutely perfect

Trevor was a fantastic host and super accommodating. The house is stunning and comes fully stocked with everything you could think of. The locations was amazing as it’s 15 mins or less from Sunday river and even closer to town and stores. Definitely coming back next year!

Great ski vacation with family. Trevor clearly put a lot of care and effort into designing and stocking the house- from games and entertainment to kitchen necessities and more! A very Nice House With a Great Owner

One of the nicest and well equipped VRBOs we have stayed in. The owner was easy to communicate with and very responsive. This house worked out great for a Sunday River ski weekend.

Perfect Ski Vacation

We had a great stay at Trevor’s beautiful home. He was very attentive and answered any questions we had. The house was perfect for our two families. There was plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. The hot tub and games were perfect for relaxing after skiing. We hope to go back and stay there again soon!

Lovely stay close to Sunday river

Trevor was a great host - would definitely stay here again. I’ve been to my fair share of rentals and they tend to provide the bare minimum (exactly 2 trash bags, 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper)… but Trevor made sure everything was thought of! It made our trip so much easier knowing certain household items were available for us to use. The house was perfect and beautiful - well kept with a homey feeling. You can tell they care about the experience for guests. Trevor made himself very available for any questions we had. Overall we had a great time and would absolutely try to book here again.

Wonderful Stay

My family had a wonderful stay in this beautiful and comfortable home. There was more than enough space for all six of us and a few more would definitely work comfortably. Having four bedrooms and three full bathrooms was ideal. The kitchen was fully stocked with all of the pots and pans, dishes, glassware, utensils, and serving ware needed for cooking and serving, and all of the small appliances needed as well – Keurig, regular coffee maker, toaster oven, blender, etc. We were there on Christmas and were able to cook as easily as if we were at our own home. The home was decorated for Christmas as well which was a lovely touch. The game room in the basement was stocked with many board games for all ages. Downtown Bethel was just a few minutes down the road and there were restaurants / places for takeout there as well as in Newry / Sunday River area. After skiing at Sunday River, getting into the hot tub back at the house was perfect. The large mudroom was great for storing ski equipment and the gear dryer was awesome. Communication with the owner was easy and he was available quickly if we had a question. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely rent again!
