Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property. The house isn't luxurious, but it was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped for our group. We especially appreciated the downstairs recreation area with the pool table and ping pong table, the excellent air conditioning, abundant ceiling fans, and the spacious kitchen, which was fully stocked with cookware and utensils. The supplied gas grill was also a nice bonus. The location was ideal—just 50 minutes from Birmingham—with beautiful open-water views and stunning sunsets on Lake Logan Martin. We also enjoyed renting a pontoon boat from Poor House Marina, which was conveniently located nearby. Communication with the host was excellent throughout our stay. The biggest drawback was the exterior condition of the property. The landscaping appeared neglected, with overgrown weeds and vines around the walkways, stairs, and dock area. The presence of For Sale signs at both the road and dock gave the impression that the property may not have been visited recently. While we enjoyed swimming from the dock, it is fairly basic and not designed as a space for relaxing or lounging.Overall, the interior of the home provided a very comfortable experience, but the curb appeal and outdoor maintenance did not match the quality of the house itself. With some attention to the landscaping and exterior areas, this would be an even better lake getaway.
