Oceanfront penthouse 40 feet from ocean - 2 bedroom, 1 bath - Amazing View!
From this comfortable and recently updated 4th floor condo, F407, you will enjoy spectacular ocean views, turtles, whales (in season), islands, and sunsets. You will feel like you are sitting right on the water! It has two bedrooms (one of them is an open loft bedroom) and sleeps 6 (4 beds). The primary bedroom has a queen bed and the loft has one queen and two twin beds. Perfect for couples or a family (not recommended for children under 7 due to steep loft stairs). The building has an elevator.
You will enjoy wonderful renovations completed in June 2024, including a full kitchen and partial bath renovation (bamboo cabinets and quartz countertops!) and other updates. A tri-zone AC system was installed in May 2023. The condo is now even more amazing!
Enjoy the sound of ocean waves! You will love your morning coffee and eating meals on the lanai (balcony) while enjoying the stunning view of Molokai and Lanai. Inside, the vaulted ceiling gives the condo a spacious feel. High-end sliding glass doors open fully to give the condo a true indoor-outdoor ambiance!
This property changed hands in December 2022. The reviews from the previous owner (all reviews prior to December 2022) were transferred to this listing to give as much information as possible to future guests. Please do not hesitate to reach out for any information.
Our condo is much better equipped than the typical rental and set up like a friend's beach home, including beach towels, beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, boogie boards, and pool noodles. The kitchen is very well-stocked with everything you may need, including Mai Tai glasses, Instant Pot, Nespresso machine (uses "Original Line" capsules), and a good quality drip coffee machine.
Papakea Resort is located on 13 acres in North Kaanapali/Honokawai and exudes Hawaiian charm, with lush gardens and koi ponds, as well as two swimming pools, two jacuzzi hot tubs, tennis and pickle ball courts, putting greens, shuffleboard, and gas BBQ grills for guest use. Free wifi internet access is available throughout the resort.
Papakea Resort is fee-free as of July 1, 2025! Enjoy all the amenities of the resort at no extra cost: weekly Mai Tai party, weekly lei-making class, exercise classes, tennis rackets/balls, pickle ball rackets/balls, and miniature golf putters/balls).
The location is outstanding! You are within steps of the Kaanapali boardwalk/trail, with breathtaking views. Restaurants, food trucks, a grocery store, a fish market, shops, and more are within walking distance.
The sand in front of Papakea comes and goes depending on the weather and tides. There is a sea wall, and steps leading down. Weather and waves permitting, people swim and snorkel in front of Papakea. Lounge chairs on the grass behind the sea wall provide a delightful area to relax, read, or soak in the ocean view. Sandy North Kaanapali beach is steps away. There is fantastic snorkeling at popular nearby Kahekili (Airport) Beach.
The historic town of Lahaina was destroyed by a heartbreaking fire in August 2023. West Maui is open and welcoming respectful, compassionate, and generous visitors - please bring your "aloha" with you. Lahaina town (and the surrounding "burn zone") remains closed.
State taxes will be applied: Hawaii General Excise Tax (4.712%); Hawaii Transient Accommodation Tax (10.25% in 2025 and 11% as of Jan. 1, 2026); and Maui Transient Accommodation Tax (3%). (These are included in the VRBO total price.)

1. Papakea resort is undertaking a 2-year phased "Internal Renovation" project to update all plumbing, working on one building at a time. The work (8am-5pm M-F) should not be audible in the condo but will be audible and visible on some parts of the property. From August-October 2025, the work will be on a nearby building, and the condo is priced to take this into account. From November 2025 onwards, the work will be on buildings far from the condo. More details are available if you have any concerns.
2. Parking for one vehicle is free. An additional vehicle is $5/day.

My husband and I recently purchased (late 2022) this beautiful condo! I grew up in Lahaina and it has been my dream to have a place of our own to enjoy and share with others.

We have traveled to Maui many times over the years with our children, and Papakea became our favorite place to stay. We fell in love with the beautiful property, including lush gardens and lots of amenities, and its great location, convenient to shops, restaurants, snorkeling, and walking/jogging trails. The oceanfront view from this condo can't be beat!
