Fantastic Ocean View Villa

Seagrove is around one block away from the Grand Pavilion and the new Sweetgrass Hotel in Wild Dunes. So whether you are coming to Wild Dunes for a conference, a wedding or a relaxing vacation, you will love this perfect Ocean View Condo.

This perfect, very spacious family getaway is arranged over two floors with the master suite on the second floor and two beds and two baths on the first floor. The kitchen is fully equipped and ready for you to prepare meals and is open plan to the living / dining area so you don't miss out on the family fun. You might want to relax on the patio with your coffee in the morning, or enjoy cocktails on the patio at sunset, whatever you decide to do, it is impossible not to fall in love with this lovely condo which is only steps away from the pool and from the beach with a soothing tropical feel.

The first floor hosts two bedrooms and two bathrooms. One with a queen bed and the 2nd with two twin beds. The laundry room is on the first floor and so is the living area and dining area with sliding glass doors to the patio and stairs from the patio leading you to the beach and the pool. Upstairs hosts the main suite with a king bed, en suite bathroom and ocean views.

This is a second floor unit with two flights of stairs to the front door. WiFi. Linens included. No Smoking. No Pets.

The beds were so uncomfortable. I had someone bring up extra comforters that I piled on top of my mattress to make it more comfortable. The hot water in the bathroom with the twin beds - no hot water. They checked it and realized the shower handle was reversed - hot was cold and cold was hot. The stairs were terrible. I knew there were stairs but did not know there were 24 stairs. Bringing up our suitcases and groceries were not fun. The outlets behind the twin bed closest to the window was so loose - the plugs would not even stay in. The toilet seat in the twin bed bathroom needs to be adjusted. The handle on the recliner is sharp because it’s broken. Maintenance and housekeeping did bring extra comforters and blankets and they did tell us that the tub hot and cold faucet was reversed - a n note or label would be helpful.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Condo was clean and in good condition and as described, partial ocean view over looking the pool. Unit is two levels with living room, kitchen and two bedrooms on lower level with master bedroom on upper level. The lower level of this second floor unit is actually on the third floor with master bedroom on fourth floor. Bottom level of the building is for parking. There is no elevator. We had no issues with telephone and computer connections, however TV is another issue. there are TV's in all bedrooms and in living room. Good thing there are several TV's as we needed three separate remotes to get the TV in living room to function. One to turn on TV, one to select connection to network, and the third to change channels. Had to take remotes from other tv's to make it work, but only in standard definition, HD was not available. Watching TV in bedrooms was out as we used those remotes for living room TV.Island Realty was very helpful and did their best to help with the TV system - but system needs attention.

Filter was clean. Maybe discharge line is clogged.Twin bed bathroom toilet flushes only with difficulty. drains slowly. often takes 2 flushes.Lamp on table between chimney and bar is broken. Was not disclosed that two beach access paths in Seagrove were closed...even when I called twice before arrival to ask about this, I was told that all the beach refurbishment in front of Seagrove was completed and that everything was back to normal.Door from back stairs to balcony is hard to open and close. It needs to be planed to fit the door opening. It jams. dead bolt lock on it is difficult to operate.Cable TV in main room did not work until maintenance replaced the inoperable remote control device.

Reviewer Comments: The Seagrove 8D was not as clean as we would have liked overall, but worse than that there was a large black mold growth in the master bathroom beside the shower. It almost looked like 2 black mushrooms growing out of the wall. Additionally, the mold was growing within the a/c vent of the guest bathroom. Someone with us had respiratory problems and this was a huge concern for us. Unfortunately, we didn’t see it until our last night there.

Tons of potential

Owner needs to spend some money. Rust/mold around AC ducts. Twin bed room ceiling needs repair, ceiling pealing and in need of repair. Old/stained drinkwear in kitchen. Mattress in downstairs master was worst I’ve seen in awhile. This place could be pretty nice, close to the pool, decent ocean views, plenary of sq ft. I wouldn’t stay here again unless they reinvest into the unit to make it usable.

Needs Serious Update

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit is in a great location! 100 steps to the beach and toes are in the sand. That said, the unit is in serious need of an update including kitchen, furniture and bedding. Bathrooms were okay. We had to have the furniture and carpets cleaned during our stay. Nasty stains and just gross. The wifi and televisions are not the best. We could not stream anything on our computer or kindle; the wifi could not handle streaming. My advice is to stay at Seagrove, just not this unit until it gets updated and deep cleaned. We were VERY disappointed in the overall condition of the condo.

Good location, too hot inside

Pros-Easy walk to pool/beach. Parking assigned under bldg. Relatively quiet. Kitchen equipped for cooking. Adequate seating for dining & living space. Balcony w/ partial ocean & pool view. Prop. Mgr responsive (TV issues). Kitchen, dining & living area stayed cool/comfortable. Cons-Stains on carpet/furniture. Kitchen cabinets could use knobs-some doors are sticky from use & difficult to open Too HOT inside. Outside temps stayed in the low 80’s but bedrooms too hot. Blackout drapes on all bedroom windows needed. Queen bedroom on main floor significantly hotter than the living space. Overall the unit is okay but b/c of the inconsistencies with cooling we would not stay again.

The layout was appropriate but the furniture, the carpeting, and the overall cleanliness of the condo was very disappointing. The whole place needs an overhaul from top to bottom. It’s a shame to drive quite a distance and pay a hefty sum to stay in a place that is as depressing as that was. We couldn’t even enjoy the balcony because there is a bee population going on there that needs to be addressed. Get it together owners, have some pride in your property.

Close walk to the beach!

Can’t beat the easy walk to the beach and pool! The place is a little dated, there were no knives, one room has no hot water. Other than that, great check in, very quiet, and great views. We would stay here again! Bring your own laundry detergent and pillows.

Great location but unit is quite dated. Minimal kitchen supplies, very hot in 3rd bedroom. Outdated appliances and tv's. Overall a nice place and great location but could use some updating.

Adequate but a little shabby.

The three bedroom condo was large and the partial ocean view as as advertised. It was disappointing to see chipped paint on the front door, water damage, rust and peeling paint in one is the bedrooms. Most perplexing was the lack of beach towels.

We enjoyed our stay as far as roominess and location and the unit was very clean, BUT: Need more than 2 rolls of tp in bathrooms and more than 1 roll of paper towels. Had to buy both. Suggest having non-stick frying pan. The air conditioning was not consistent in temp in bedrooms downstairs. The bedroom with queen bed was too warm, making sleeping difficult. Also suggest room darkening blinds in queen bedroom. The twin beds room was cold! Suggest better quality mattresses in these bedrooms. They were hard! TVs need to be updated to HD. Picture fuzzy as it is now. Master bedroom TV did not work! Carpet has stains. Key for storage area did not open door so couldn’t use. Had to keep some things in car, like golf clubs. No Kleenex tissue so had to use more toilet paper. Need more than 3 large trash bags. Had to use shopping bags on last day for trash. Sliding door to balcony squeaks and needs wd40. Make it clear in advertisement that there are 30 steps to unit!

While condo was nice, there were some upgrades needed. Carpet in a unit like that seems old ... there were some stains that kind of made me feel like it was dirty. Distance to the beach was the best. And showers at end of bridge was great too. Beach wasn’t crowded and it was quiet and peaceful. I’m not sure I would go to this condo again but our experience was a good one.

Inside could use some updating. The real bummer is the lack of towels. One towel set per person is provided, but when you are vacationing at a beach destination you expect to have some beach towels, or at least be warned ahead of time to bring your own. When I inquired about more towels with housekeeping, I was told it would be an extra charge which we have never encountered in other beach rentals. Also - the condo is on the 3rd floor which was just fine for us but could present a problem for those with less mobility.
