Sunset Lodge is one of two cabins at UT1 Cabin Rentals and is situated just steps away from Nine Mile Lake in Finland MN. It is a two bedroom + loft, 2 bath, cabin with spacious living spaces, man cave, and large kitchen for hosting. This cabin comes with private gas grill, large patio for entertaining, and complimentary kayak access.

Unorganized Territory #1 Cabin Rentals are located near the beautiful Minnesota North Shore of Lake Superior. Situated just steps away from the beautiful Nine Mile Lake in Finland, MN, and 15 miles from Lake Superior, your visit will leave you with unsurpassed memories for you and your family and friends. Let your days consist of waking up to the sunrise and staying for the sunset while hiking, fishing, chasing waterfalls, or adventuring out on the hundreds of miles of connected ATV and snowmobiling trails.

This home is absolutely one of the best VRBO's that we have stayed in. The view is to die for and the craftsmanship is exceptional! The home was clean, well stocked and very comfortable. Kerry was great to visit with and shared local must see attractions with us!! We will definitely book again.

Serenity on Nine Mile Lake

From check in to check out, our stay was the relaxing getaway we were hoping to have before summer comes to an end! Perfect location for trail riding and close to many hiking options, we were immersed in outdoor activity. The view of the lake and our time in the cabin were both amazing!

Fabulous place on a quiet Lake. Amazing view from the upper deck. Fire pit by the lake. Impeccable place to stay. Beds and couches are top notch. Man cave with bar was a perfect place to hang out at night. Great for side-by-side and snowmobiles. We will definitely go back.

Awesome visit

Property is very clean and as advertised. Wonderful quiet location on serene lake. Owners/host are great and checked in with us upon arrival to show us around and make sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again!

Best Family Vacation

Loved, loved, loved everything about this place. Perfect for my family. My son and I had lots of trails to hike. My husband had a wonderful evening by the fire with the host. This is the spot to stay. We will most definitely be back!!!

Beautiful Cabin!

We stayed as a group of four, and had plenty of space. The cabin has a beautiful view of the lake, well stocked kitchen + grill. We really enjoyed the fire pit by the lake and the kayaks Kerry kindly let us use. I highly recommend this cabin, and I hope to return some day!

Awesome Place

The cabin had everything we needed. Great scenic views. Easy access to lake for our kayaks. Highly recommend. Worth the drive from Southeast Minnesota.

Family Hunting Trip

Comfortable cabin

Very nice, new cabin-worked perfectly for myself and my 2 sons. Note that it's about 10 miles of dirt roads to get there off of Highway 61. If you like peace and tranquility this is the place!!!

Beautiful and Relaxing

We absolutely loved our stay at the property. It’s on a beautiful lake, which is very quiet and pristine. The water is so clear. They had kayaks for our use and we used them every day and absolutely loved kayaking on the lake. We saw loons and the beautiful wildflowers everywhere. The property is absolutely stunning. The owners have a cabin on the property and are they were there the whole time and had family visiting since it was the Fourth of July. Everyone was super nice and respectful and helpful.We loved being only 30 miles away from Lake superior and multiple state parks which we enjoyed.The cabin was very nice and everything was in working order and what a view from the upper level. We had everything we needed and more.We highly recommend.

Great place for adventures and relaxation

Great views, beautiful cabin and not a long enough stay! A perfect get away to recharge. Great trails near by for an ATV/UTV adventure ( trails are near by but you do need to drive some dirt roads to get to the trails in the woods) Cabin has great living spaces, was perfect for two couples. All basic cooking necessities available. Great communication with the owner and was very helpful with ideas of places to visit. We hope to visit again soon.

Met expectations

We were looking for a relaxing place to disconnect. We decided to pay a little extra for this place over some of the other choices in the area because the furnishings look comfortable and refreshing. It met our expectations. Spent a lot of time reading books looking out over the lake in the comfortable leather chairs in the living room. Maybe a few naps in there too. The owners were in helpful and attentive. Kitchen was adequately supplied.

Quiet, peaceful and pretty

This property was very nice and comfortable. If we have the occasion to stay in that area again, we would definitely book it again. The area was so peaceful and while we did not have time to utilize the kayaks, lake or fire pit, it would have been awesome to do so. Make sure you have the code to enter the house written down somewhere as you have no cell service until you enter the house and connect to the Wi-Fi so you are unable to pull it up on your phone.

Awesome cabin in perfect location for exploring the Superior National Forest

The cabin was very well appointed with everything you'd need. The pictures and advertisement were spot-on. The beds were comfortable, we had all of the kitchenware we needed for the weekend. They had Wi-FI which was helpful since cell service is very intermittent or absent in this area usually. The cabin was conveniently located for ATV trail riding and hunting in the Superior National Forest. The owner lives in a hose in he neighborhood and stopped by to introduce himself and let us know he's available if we needed anything. All-in-all it was a great property and we'll defnitely be back in the future! The directions to the cabin were easy to follow from the e-mail we received from the owner (in case your GPS doesn't work due to lack of cell service).

GIRLS TRIP!

We had the great privilege of renting both of the cabins at UT1 Cabin Rentals for a girls weekend. Sunset Lodge accommodates our group so well and had all of the features that we needed to enjoy from sunup to sundown. This was our "meal cabin" as the island and kitchen was perfect for our group. It had everything that we needed from crockpots to multiple fridges to store our food. The private outdoor firepit by the lake was wonderful and we really enjoyed the complimentary kayaks for a sunrise paddle on the lake. We spent a lot of time exploring the beautiful waterfalls of the area. Sunset Lodge was far enough from the hustle and bustle that often comes on the North Shore but a perfect location for a day trip. Thank you for your hospitality, we will definitely be back! (PS. Thank you for your recommendations of "places to visit" we were not disappointed by any of the state parks!)

Perfect Cabin!

We stayed at this property with our children and absolutely loved it! Our plan was to snowmobile and the location was perfect as it is close to the snowmobile and ATV trails. It is a bit out of town though and while there are restaurants nearby they are more like bars that serve food, which we knew ahead of time and utilized the kitchen at the cabinet. The owner has all the cookware and utensils available (even a crockpot!) so this worked well for us! There are movies and games available to use which was a great way to relax as a family. Bedrooms were spacious and the loft worked well for our teens. The loft is higher so wouldn't work well for small children, but has a railing and plenty of room to stand. We had great communication with the owner prior to our stay and met them when we arrived and they offered to answer questions and make sure we got settled. Overall, highly recommend this cabin and we look forward to returning!

A Great Escape

What a great escape of a stay this was. It was my dream to visit the North Shore 10/5-10/10 to ring in my 30th birthday. The location of the cabin was great - within an hour-ish drive from numerous sights along North Shore. Driving on the dirt roads and taking in the beautiful scenery (but, sadly, no moose) was a great contrast to city life. Looking out at Ninemile Lake was beautiful. Taking the kayaks out is so fun when the water is calm! I will say the other houses surrounding the cabin feel a lot closer once you're there than they look in the photos. Inside the cabin, the gas fireplace creates the coziest feel at the flip of a switch. It gets quite toasty in the loft, but an oscillating fan is provided. Consider bringing a pair of slippers for extra comfort since there isn't any carpeting in the main cabin area, but the floors are heated. As for this cabin's amenities, do not worry about any kitchenware! Or bath towels! Connecting to the free wifi is important because cell service is not great... but that's the point of an escape, right? 🙂 There is a landline on site for calls or emergencies. Note that you don't need coins to operate the washer or dryer and it'd we wise to bring your own detergent/softener. Unless it was hidden under the many towels, I didn't see a hair dryer so ladies, pack that too if needed! Kerry and Patti are so kind and accommodating - if you have any questions, just ask! They sure helped make my 30th birthday dream a reality!
