Beautiful Lakefront Home- Crooked Lk-Petoskey/Harbor Springs/Nubs- boat/bike/ski

This iconic home sits on beautiful Crooked Lake just north of Petoskey and west of Harbor Springs. You are just minutes from shopping in the Gaslight District of Petoskey or strolling the streets and shops of beautiful Harbor Springs. Historic Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, and the Mackinac Bridge are 45 minutes north.
In the summer months, you can enjoy relaxing by the lake or take a kayak, paddle board or rent a boat to go out on the water. If you own a boat, there is a private dock available.
This location is just 5-10 minutes from Lake Michigan and has quick access to local biking, hiking, and snowmobile trails. This location is also a winter haven for the snow enthusiasts, with ice fishing, snowmobiling, ice skating, snow shoeing, and cross country skiing. Additionally, you are just down the road from some of the best down hill skiing in the Midwest at Nubs Nob, Highlands of Harbor Springs, and a short 20 minute drive from Boyne Mountain.
Crooked Lake is connected to the Inland Water Ways which can take you to Burt Lake, Pickerel Lake, Mullet Lake, and even Lake Huron and Lake Michigan if you are up for it.
Enjoy the early morning sunrises and after a fun filled day, an evening campfire.

The hosts were responsive and easy to work with. The home was clean, comfortable and well appointed for our group of 7 adults. The location is convenient being close to Petosky as well as the ski hills. We have stayed in many rental homes and this one is one of our favorites!

The place was great. We enjoyed the living spaces. The place was very spacious. The kitchen was great. It was well stocked with all the supplies, tools, pots/pans. There was plenty of towels. Loved the welcome book with recommendations and the history in the house. The location was ideal for snow skiing and short derive to many different restaurants. Our hosts were very responsive. Clark was great. He cleaned the driveway early to make sure we got to the ski slopes early.

I stayed with 3 friends for a birthday celebration weekend. The house was stocked above and beyond with extras. We appreciated everything from the sound machine to the k-cups. The hosts have thought of every detail. I would definitely stay here again.

This property is a Home away from Home with extras! Comfortable, relaxing and with easy day trips to see all the area has to offer. Great for families, couples or just an I need to get away place. Hosts are wonderful and very accessible if needed. We would definitely stay again!

Clark, Kate, and Heidi could not have been better hosts! So accommodating and friendly— Kate responded so promptly to all of our messages!The house is exactly as pictured, very clean and fully stocked. The lake is lovely with swans visiting us every day. The largest swans I’ve ever seen! It was delightful to take my morning coffee on the back porch or even on the dock and watch them fish. This is a beautiful area to visit, and we could not have asked for a better location as our home base. We would definitely stay stay here again when we’re in the area!

We rented the lake house for a soccer tournament in Petoskey and it was absolutely wonderful! Tons of space and amenities… truly a great experience. The bunk beds and huge couch in the game/tv room were a big hit with the players. Grill worked fabulous as we cooked a ton of chicken and brats on it for a team bbq. Kitchen had everything you could need to cook up a storm. Parking enough for 4 vehicles. Clark and Kate were amazing hosts and really did a great job with communicating and providing for a great experience. We are actually sad that this is our last year at the tournament as we really wanted to rent this home again. Instructions for the home were detailed and easy to follow. Loved the history of the home and family! Thank you so much Clark and Kate!

In the area for a wedding. Great home base. Central location to Petoskey and Harbor Springs. Loved the view of the swans on the lake every morning fishing. Charming atmosphere and very kid friendly with a step stool even for the kitchen - loved that. Highly suggest this property.

Summer family vacation

We stayed here with our kids ages 1-9 and plenty to keep them busy with the beach, paddle boards, kayaks. Love the location close to both Harbor Springs and Petoskey.

We are still smiling after our stay here. There is something to offer for everyone from 1 year to 80 years of age at this cottage. There were plenty of kayaks and even a paddle boat. The little ones loved playing in the water and fishing off the dock. The house was updated, very clean and spacious. Communication from the owner was top notch. Thank you Clark!

Fantastic place to stay - Crooked Lake Haven - Oden, MI

From start to finish this was an incredible easy and fun filled experience.Before booking I had some questions on parking, dockage etc., and Clark and Kate very very quickly, (within an hour max., mostly within 20 minutes thoroughly answered eachquestion)The house was very clean, well set up with various amenities, lots of cups, dishes, plates, pots, pans, etc., for cooking. Many jigsaw puzzles and games for a rainy day, which luckily we did not incur. Also had a basket with dog items, big tub with beach kid toys, kayaks, pedal boat, paddle board, great beach and dock.The covered porch and the lake room with huge windows was our favorite. Having early morning coffee and watching the ducks, swans, loons from the porch was a nice reason to rise early. That along with seeing a beautiful sunrise over the lake. Only improvement would be to possibly have some more life preservers for kayaking, and other water activities, or in property description notify guests bring these as needed for their group.

Great Place

Very clean and very spacious. They go over and beyond to provide as much as possible of the little things that you might of forgot or is a pain to pack. We had a great time.

Another Amazing Stay

4th of July on Crooked Lake

It was a great trip. We got to spend time with the kids and grandkids. The house was great with the open floor plans so that we could all hang out and talk having the dock was good also to launch the boat. The Homeowners keep the house very neat and clean.

This property is owned by Middle Brothers LLC. We are third generation property owners consisting of the second and third sons (Clark and Steve) of William B Hewitt. William B Hewitt was the son of William F and Lois C Hewitt ( original owners). This property was bought from the Conway Lumber Company in 1936 when the mill went out of business.

This property has been in the family since the Conway Lumber Company sold this property to our grandparents, William and Lois Hewitt in 1936. Our father, William B and JoAnn Hewitt inherited the property in 1989. It is our desire to keep the property in the family and allow others to enjoy the home and picturesque scenery that we have grown to love.

We hope you enjoy your stay at this historical property and are able to explore all the beauty that Northern Michigan and the surrounding area has to offer.
