The Sunflower Cottage is above all cozy and comfortable. Guests love how clean the place is upon arrival and the super comfy bed at the end of the night.

You can get the most out of staying here by setting up your campfire while watching the sunset. With the fire roaring and your s'mores melty, look up and notice the stars and Milky Way have come out to play.

This cottage is ideal for road trippers seeking to break up their trip. It's also at the edge of convenience for a weekend getaway from the Front Range. Couples find The Sunflower Cottage romantic. Singles find it restorative. Dogs approve this location most of all. Adventure seekers will find this quiet Colorado corner has all they can handle.

Booking, finding and staying here is easy. I'm a long-time Superhost and not a large management company. After much trial and error, I've automated a lot of the communications and instructions, but closely monitor my messages to make sure you've got all the information to make things smooth.

The mattress and bedding are supremely comfortable. Quiet and comfort are in place. Your good night's sleep is first priority.

The kitchen is well equipped with a two burner stove, capable toaster oven and a microwave. The coffee and tea station is stacked, and you'll be well supplied for kitchen essentials like silverware, oils and spices.

You might have hesitations about tiny bathrooms. Have no fear. Everything is full sized. Nothing off-grid. The fabulous shower heats instantly, and washes away worries and nature just as fast.

Wifi here is fast and reliable. You can stream and work remotely.

Farther beyond the cottage, you can walk 30 seconds to the edge of our bluff for spectacular photos of the Gunnison River and scenery beyond. There's an old canal road which goes parallel to the river for your meditative walk or run. Keep your eyes open for deer and eagle and fox and quail. Just some of our neighbors.

For the outdoors enthusiast, it's all here. Within 30 minutes you can hunt, ski, hike, bike, fish, raft, sled, snowshoe, birdwatch, climb, go four wheeling and pick your own produce.

Many people are traveling with Pets these days and yours may be a good fit for our place. There is a one time fee which is paid by UPDATING YOUR GUEST COUNT. Please mention your pet in your initial messaging. Pets with uncontrollable drooling/shedding/barking/bathroom problems, etc., are not a good fit for this space.

For foodies, it's hard to get your table any closer to the farm. Delta and Cedaredge, our closest towns, have good choices for fast food/fast casual/mid range restaurants. For those who like their veggies, apples, peaches, melons and cherries fresh, come see us in the summer. Wineries are also plentiful in the area and many offer tastings and good food menus.

Marijuana is a big part of many people's Colorado tourism experience. Please only smoke outside! And be aware that there are no recreational dispensaries in Delta County.

The Sunflower Cottage is a passion project. It is not perfect. Probably never will be. But it may be perfect for you! It would be my pleasure to host you, and to have your positive energy pass through.

This special place is available to anyone. LGBTQ+ people are welcome. So are people of any race or religion or ethnicity or political bent or whatever. If you happen to be an X-Man or alien, please say so. That would be sweet, and you'd be the first.

Guests receive their check-in instructions in the days before their arrival. It is a self-check in process and doesn't require you to meet anyone at the door.

My primary home is in Denver, though I try to spend as much time as possible on the property in one tiny house or another. I'm most easily reached via the Airbnb messaging function, and happy to answer any and all of your questions.

Orchard City is not actually a city. For all the creature comforts like shopping, groceries and restaurants head to any of the surrounding towns. There are so many good ways to support wonderful, local, creative small businesses in the area.

So many folks find this area for our natural neighborhood. The Black Canyon of the Gunnison is calling you. The Grand Mesa is the best part of Colorado you've never heard of yet. Go ahead. Look it up! Hiking and biking and climbing and so much amazing outdoor adventure is just out the front door. Hunters and fisher folk, here is your base camp.

The Sunflower Cottage lives at the end of a country road in Colorado farm country. You're going to want your own car around here. Walking and public transportaion will not likely be sufficient.

This property is very easy to find using a GPS. We have good cellular service here, though you may be out of service on several of the mountain approaches to the area. There is great accessibility to so many things, but it is all driving distance.

Please be aware that I charge a pet fee. This is charged by UPDATING YOUR GUEST COUNT. Unfortunately, uncontrollable droolers, barkers, shedders or property destroyers are not welcomed guests. Please announce your pet in your messaging.

FIRES- Colorado experiences ever increasingly dangerous wildfire seasons. We have fire pits for your enjoyment. We also have periodic fire bans. Please inquire if you'd like to have a fire.

SMOKING- Marijuana is legal and allowed on the property. All smoking must be done outside!
1. PETS-- Please update your guest count to reflect that you are bringing a pet.
Unfortunately, if your pet is an uncontrollable drooler, shedder, destroyer of furniture, or is not well house trained, please consider another option for your stay.

During your stay, pets should be with you on site. If you must leave them alone inside, you must kennel or cage your pet.
