The Wonderer is a private club in Downtown Charleston, offering a 2-acre campus with resort-style amenities. As our guest, you will receive access to their Tulum-inspired pool, cabanas, restaurant and bar, fitness studio, wellness classes, and a recovery room unlike any other! Day passes and cabanas have associated fees.

Two weeks before your reservation date, all guests will be provided with a one-pager that includes booking information to reserve access to The Wonderer.

Please note: The Wonderer is a private membership-based club, and access is not guaranteed.

I will be available for whatever you may need as I live very close to the property. I will very likely be in the Charleston area as well, but it not, I can still provide guidance or recommendations for activities you may be interested in.

The house is located right off upper King St. just steps away from all of the bars and restaurants Charleston has to offer.

You will be able to walk to most places on the peninsula. Uber and Taxis are available as well. 20 minutes drive to Folly Beach, 5 minutes to Mt. Pleasant, 15 minutes to Sullivan's island, 20 minutes to the airport, and 25 minutes to Isle of Palms!

Hurricane/Weather Policy:
In the event of a mandatory evacuation order issued by the Mayor of Charleston County, guests must contact us within 24 hours to receive a full refund. This policy applies only to official mandatory evacuation orders.

House Policies:
To maintain the quality and condition of our properties for all guests, we enforce the following rules:
- No Parties: Hosting parties or large gatherings is strictly prohibited.
- No Smoking: Smoking is not permitted inside the property or in areas where smoke may linger, such as porches or balconies.
- Property Damage: Guests are responsible for any damage to walls or property caused by hanging decorations or other actions.
- Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM to ensure a peaceful environment for all.
- Firearms Prohibited: Firearms are not allowed on the property. Any firearm found will be considered abandoned and handled accordingly.

Charleston is a vibrant, growing city, and guests may experience typical urban sounds, including traffic, nearby restaurants, bars, or general street noise. Construction noise may also occur in the area. While we strive to inform guests of potential disruptions, we may not always have advance notice of such activities.

Ideal Family Vacation Location

Property us very convenient to all that Charleston has to offer. We walked to nearby coffee shop, restaurants and retail shops. Downtown tourist attractions were less than 10 minutes away. Host was very prompt in responding to all inquiries. Both homes were recently renovated and had updated appliances. I would highly recommend this location for anyone with a group of 10 or more people.

1975 HS Graduates Girlfriends Getaway

I have re-read the VRBO listing before writing this review. My intent is not to be negative, but only to give some advisement of the difference in what we perceived from the website pics, description & offerings as opposed to what we experienced. I would rate this property as 'OK' for the size of our group of 7 and the amount of time we actually spent in the units. Positives were enough bedrooms/bathrooms with nice showers & quality bath amenities for our size group. Another plus is that the host replied very promptly when communicating :) Now to our misconceptions from the VRBO site... To be fair, it was probably our misunderstanding that the 'duplex' labeling meant all in one building. We are from WI and that is what duplex means. However, we made it work for our group. Next would be how far from this location the downtown Charleston tourist area is. We are a group of retired ladies in fairly good shape, but felt that it is quite far walking to (and back) for any shopping, eating/drinking places, and other tourist sites. Thank goodness for the availability of bike taxis! Mentionable is that the neighborhood is not as clean looking as the site pics & is quite noisy due to construction. This may be temporary but would suggest checking with the host as to what's happening nearby. And finally, if no vehicle, getting to The Wonderer private club 'with resort style amenities' is not reasonable (52 minute walk according to my GPS).
