Beautiful home, clean, near all the fun happenings. The host was easy to communicate with, we didn't have any issues but she let us know of activities happening in the area and made it clear she was available if anything was needed. We brought our small dog and I felt he was welcome and the fenced back yard made it easy with him. Would absolutely recommend and would stay again if we go back to the area!

Your group was wonderful and I am glad you love that big old 100-year-old house! It is a step back in time since I show a lot of original wood and architecture. And it's so rewarding to bring these old Southern homes back to their glory and share them with guests to our area. Come back any time--we'll be here.

Debra was an amazing host. She was very responsive and proactive in her communication throughout the trip. The house was exactly as listed and I would 100% recommend it to anyone in the Gulfport area.

I'm glad it worked out that your family had two of my houses very close together. I also live in the neighborhood in west Gulfport as it's my favorite area of the Coast--quiet, safe but close to everything.

Yes, the magnolia tree is amazing. I hired an arborist to come assess the health, and he verified it is one of the largest and oldest magnolia trees in the state.

Perfect location

This is a super cute home. It was really clean and well furnished. The yard was perfect for our poodle. Communication with the owner was wonderful.

Quick get away

Great time, getting away for a long weekend. Close and easy location to get to, quiety neighborhood outside of the train tracks.

Thank you for the five-star review; after spending a year renovating this beautiful big home, I love being able to share it with guests. It is a lovely, quiet neighborhood by the beach yet close to everything--including the train. Since the tracks run parallel to the beach all across the Coast, if you're near the beach, you also get the train. Hope to see you again and glad you had a restful getaway.

Excellent escape in coastal Mississippi

The house was great, with modern touches and historic charm. Our host was great, communicating with us throughout the weekend and being helpful with the questions we had. The location was terrific, and the ear plugs that were offered for the train was a nice touch but wholly unnecessary for us. We'd definitely stay again!

I'm so glad you enjoyed this special house. We lost so many historic homes close to the beach during Hurricane Katrina. This house--and the huge magnolia tree in the back yard--are survivors. I'm happy that visitors to our beautiful Coast can experience staying in one of our historic Southern homes.

Hurricane Escape

Property was as listed. Very clean. Owner was very helpful and accommodating. Perfect for the four of us to escape Helene and enjoy being away from stress of weather worries. We enjoyed the casinos and driving along the beach to explore nearby areas. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Majestic Magnolia stay

The 5 of us stayed 4 nights. Everything was perfect and close to everything we planned to do. The house was very comfortable and so charming. We had everything we needed and more. The magnolia tree was an added bonus as we’re getting to hear the trains go by. Debra was easy to communicate with, which, for us was only at check in and check in and check out as we needed for nothing. Can’t wait to come back.

Such a wonderful review! I knew I had to buy this beautiful 100+ year old home when I saw the incredible magnolia tree in the backyard. An arborist who came to evaluate it said it is one of the oldest and largest in the state. The feeling of sitting under it is so tranquil. I live a few houses away and also love the neighborhood and location. You were great guests and are welcome back any time!

Majestic Magnolia Tree

We so enjoyed staying at this property. It is a beautiful old home convenient to many attractions in the Gulfport area. Very spacious home, very clean. The master bath was very accommodating for handicapped seniors. The kitchen was well stocked with any appliance you might need. The beds were very comfy. Our little dog loved the fenced backyard and screened in front porch. The 300 year old plus magnolia tree was so beautiful. Lastly, Debra was fantastic, keeping us well-informed during our stay.

Great Stay and Lots of Room

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were setup very nicely and had plenty of room. The living room was very spacious and lots of sitting space. The dinning room area was wonderful and big enough for all of us to sit and enjoy our meals together. The kitchen was big and we enjoyed cooking every night. The back yard is just beautiful and sitting on the front porch every morning drinking coffee while the breeze was flowing and the birds were chirping (what a way to wake up and start your day). The train is very close so I do recommend ear plugs. The house reminded me of my grandmothers and it brought back very fond memories and make me feel good. The host and co-host were very nice and accommodating.

It was a pleasure hosting your family as our first guests at Majestic Magnolia Beach House. Thank you so much for our first rating being five stars--we really try to make each visit special. It really is a great spacious house built in 1913 and it was fun giving it new life during the year-long renovation. The train runs parallel close to the beach all across the state, so if you stay by the beach, you're near the tracks. You're welcome back any time and thanks again for being our first guests!

Short family vacation

We stayed for 3 nights. The house was beautiful! Check in was easy and the house had anything you could think of to make it feel like home. This was our first time to the area and our host, Debra, was able to answer questions and give suggestions before our stay. Debra’s communication and availability to make sure we made it to the house and checked in ok, or needed anything was superb!! The location of the house was perfect for us. It’s in a nice neighborhood where we could drive a short distance east or west to Biloxi or Bay St Louis for all the touristy stuff. Being so close to the beach was nice. The 300+yr old magnolia in the back is amazing. The room sizes were surprisingly big. They really brought out the charm of this older home and added all the modern touches to it. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful older home. Wonderful screened front porch. Unbelievable magnolia tree in back yard. Great linens and towels. Comfy beds. Yes, you will hear trains. ( Ear plugs are provided. ) Long ( but very narrow ) driveway. Parking on street was not an issue. Note to those with mobility issues : the home is higher than the street / sidewalk.The front yard is sloped. There are a few steps from the sidewalk to the walkway leading to the front door. There are no rails to hold on to. To get into the house, more steps with no railings. There is a ramp by the back door but it is a long way down the narrow drive to get to it. Very convenient location. We enjoyed our stay a lot .

I'm so sorry you had a problem with the two bedside lamps. If you had mentioned it when I stopped by to say "hi" I could have switched them out. I have some cool magnolia lamps in a storage closet there and I'll put them out. No one has mentioned having a hard time turning the lamps on but if you had a problem someone else also might have a problem. I try to do everything I can to make guests as comfortable as possible so I'm glad you brought this to my attention.
