Fred was very welcoming and helpful for all questions we had. The house was great overall. Walking distance to great food options, downtown, and sunsets over the small beach just across and down the street. Also shopping within walking distance, but a short drive to a larger grocery store. Much quieter than the major resort areas. Had some issues with the coffee maker, but that's really our only issue.

Fred was an awesome host. Always available and attentive to our needs. We spent a few evenings with him on our patio table getting to know each other. We had a later flight out and didn’t care that we checked out a little late.

Perfect Location

This is a nice, well kept, clean apartment on the second floor of a large house. Beautiful gardens surrounding, responsive landlord just the next door over, and a comfortable balcony overlooking the street. Walking distance to good restaurants, the down town and a nice beach. Safe neighborhood, and even had nice chats with the neighbors. Only 2 small downsides for us. My wife is visually impaired, and the lighting is quite subdued in the apartment, a few lamps would have been nice. Shower is pretty small too, but overall a lovely experience.

Wonderful vacation and host

The apartment was spacious and very comfortable. The garden sitting area gave us a quiet shaded area perfect for our morning coffee and a glass of wine at the end of the day. We did not rent a car and made use of the convenient location close to downtown restaurants, activities and just across from a quiet beach. Our host and his son (visiting from NY) were exceptional. 39 Days in Paradise

This was our first trip to Aruba. Location of this property was great - close to beach, close to downtown without being in the midst of traffic and people. Hosts were awesome - very hospitable, quick to respond to any question or need. Good neighbourhood, safe to walk. Our unit was spacious and ideal for our long term stay. Had everything we needed.

We were extremely happy with our stay. The villa is in a perfect location.

The villa is beautiful. The king size bed is comfortable. We really enjoyed sitting out on our patio in tthe morning, drinking coffee and relaxing. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a full size refrigerator, microwave and stove. The villa and surrounding property is very well kept and secure. The owner lives upstairs and he is very accessible for anything you might need. The villa is within walking distance to many great restaurants and shops. The owner has a great personality and provided helpful insight about Aruba. We look forward to staying here on future visits. It was a 100% positive experience.

Great little villa! Nice location.

If you want to live like a local this is a nice safe place to stay. Fred was so welcoming. The villa at his "sister" property was very nice and clean. 5 minute walk to the downtown area. We enjoyed it for our honeymoon!

We were very happy and impressed.

Our experience was fantastic. Fred was very nice and accomodating and has a well run home.we had all the privacy we wanted and it was very close to one of our favorite bar/restaurants the west deck.we brought fresh frozen scallops from maine for a friend and fred will get some the next time we go.(Okay Fred) lol

Convenient and nice for the money

The house is lovely but not quite like the picture. It's an older home right next to the one next door. This isn't a problem, however. Our unit was a one-bedroom and it was adequate. The shower in the bath was small but okay. The bed was very low to the floor with a nice mattress (no box spring) on top and quite comfortable. We didn't have beach chairs but beach towels were provided. Needs more glassware for the kitchen but had plenty of cookware. Very convenient to downtown -- can walk to shopping and restaurants. The beach is across the street a block or so away, but it's not really a good one. Really need a car to drive to a park about a mile or two away with lovely beach with chairs/umbrella to rent, restaurant and nice facilities. Fred is a wonderful host. He invited us to his place to watch the Carnival (parade) and served sandwiches to all of his guests. He had lots of good suggestions for any activity/restaurant you wanted. Aruba is windy, and that is putting it mildly. But, you never really get hot either. The people that live and work in Aruba are the nicest/happiest people we've ever dealt with on the many islands that we've visited. Made the trip even more wonderful.

A wonderful winter getaway

We have just returned from a week in Aruba. The apartment was nice, clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The location was very convenient and we were able to walk anywhere we wanted to go. There was no noticeable noise from the busy street. We especially enjoyed the private balcony on the back. We left home in below freezing temperatures and thoroughly enjoyed the warmth and sunshine. Fred was a most hospitable host. Upon arrival we had a mix-up with bags and he went beyond expectations with advice and helpfulness. Thank you, Fred, for sharing your home and for the aid you gave us.

We'll be back!!

This centrally located Villa was just perfect for our 8 day stay in Aruba. Fred is an amazing host. He was attentive to our needs, and was always smiling. (I suppose I would be smiling everyday if I lived in this house, too.) The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. We chose to stay in the apartment on the lower floor. Although there wasn't an ocean view from this apartment, it felt so tropical. We had a private entrance and shaded courtyard that made you feel like you were in your own private garden. We didn't spend much time at the apartment, so a 24/7 ocean view wasn't that important to us. Only steps from the gate is that unbelievable view of the ocean and cruise ships, with a sunset that will just take your breath away. This Villa is within walking distance of MANY great restaurants on and off the water, and the usual tourist shops. We did rent a car so we could explore the entire island. Parking right on the street was priceless. I would highly recommend this Villa to anyone visiting Aruba. We had the time of our lives. Thanks, Fred, for everything. Very Happy with Property

Property was clean, kitchen complete and bath and bed were comfortable. Secure internet access was available and working. Close to downtown and to the beach. Lots of shopping close and variety of eating places. Really enjoyed the stay and would go back!

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

We just spent 9 days at Le Chateau. It was absolutely perfect. One block from a lovely beach which was almost completely empty, two blocks from the Renaissance, and easy walking distance to downtown (groceries, shopping, etc). The apartment was huge and very clean. The kitchen was furnished with everything we needed. My one concern was that there would be road noise but I was pleasantly surprised to find it very quiet. The home is built of concrete and we couldn't even hear other guests. "Fred", the host, was extremely friendly and helpful. One thing to remember: this is a vacation rental, not a condo. It does not have a pool and does not have daily maid service. It is a comfortable, fully furnished apartment in a gracious host's home. I highly recommend it to someone looking for an independent experience.

Host will make you feel like you are at home!

We went for our honeymoon and the owner was very friendly and very accommodating. All we wanted to do was sit on the beach and that's what we did. Cabs were easy to get for other things and we rented a car to explore the other sides of the island. Downtown was in walking distance that have shops and restaurants.

The appartment is one of 6 appartments in the house but the one in the pictures is situated on the backside of the house. It is a nice place to stay though, but dark inside and without any 'view'. The pictures made from 'the penthouse' are not the views you will see from your appartment. I think this is misleading in the advertisement. The place is kind of noisy (barking dogs, traffic) but it is close to the sea. You can stroll along the seaside to 'down town' for diner every night and watch the sunset. I advise to rent a car and drive to some nicer beaches to get your rest.

Robert and I have not had a real vacation in a very long time. He decided he wanted to go to Aruba. He refused to go if we were going to stay in a typical hotel. Le Chateau was perfect!!! The property was just as described. Fred, owner greeted us, upon our arrival & offered to show us the local stores. He was very helpful & accommodating. He was better than any hotel manager, anywhere! There is a new condo building being built across the street from this property, but even the minor construction noise did not effect a most wonderful stay. The proximity to downtown could not have been more ideal...... beaches, shops, movie theatre, restaurants, night life, casinos, all within a few minutes walk, who could ask for anything more. rest & relaxation...the best of both worlds while we were here. We are sure to vacation in Aruba again...and if available, stay at Le Chateau. We have already told our friends about this property before we left and we raved about it upon our return.(While out on the town we even heard regular hotel guests complaining about the noise and lack of privacy in the big chain hotels...I told them where we were staying and gave them the particulars...all they could say was...next time no hotel for them.)

Condo near downtown in Aruba

I was there in February 2010, and I enjoy my staying in the executive suite with the garden view. This is the spot near almost everything, even the carnival. Every night we were taking a walk downtown. I would recommend to my friends. The owner is always at your service, with nice attention.
