This is the perfect location if you want to be near all of the local vacation amenities but want your own space.

Whether you’re visiting in the crisp winter months or the lush green of summer, Bluebear Cottage offers an authentic, peaceful experience surrounded by forest, trails, and mountain views.

Enjoy beautiful winter scenery, and sledding/snow tubing and hiking, with great views at the top of the private mountain. Clear views of the Milky Way and opportunity for astrophotography at night.

Summer mornings on the porch, you can hear individual bees pollinating clover flowers, waking up one at a time until they're all busy at work. In the summer, private hiking and trails, a cultivated blueberry patch, and the flora and fauna of the backyard meadow exude peace and nature. Swimming and kayaking and other water sports are a short drive away at the Great Sacandaga Lake and Stewart’s Pond. Reach dining, shopping and other attractions in Saratoga Springs or Lake George in 30 minutes. Experience the small town life in Lake Luzerne 10 minutes away, with plenty of outdoor activities.

The space
Bluebear Cottage is a century‑old Adirondack home with thoughtful updates and modern comforts. It’s a space that reflects its history and natural surroundings. Guests who appreciate rustic charm, privacy, and the chance to immerse themselves in the outdoors will feel right at home. Trails are natural logging paths and dirt roads, offering an authentic backwoods adventure.

The covered front porch with several hand crafted wooden Adirondack chairs, are perfect for morning coffee.

The back deck has a charcoal grill, tables, and chairs for grilling and dinner.

Up a short path to the fire pit, you can roast marshmallows and build s'mores while the low light pollution affords amazing stargazing on clear nights, including observing the Milky Way.

The family room is a favorite in the winter time with the fire on. The wood stove gets that room quite toasty, and sometimes you don't want to leave that space!

The office desk with USB dongle includes a screen, keyboard, mouse, and AC adapter, so you can just plug your PC in and work remotely / write your novel / add incredible journal entries with fast WiFi.

Cute cottage just off the beaten path. Beds were comfortable and the house was stocked with everything we needed to relax and cook meals. We enjoyed the blueberry patch and the turkeys and deer we saw while we were there. Not a far drive from Lake George or other small towns with things to do. The lack of cell service was taken care of by the reliable WiFi at the cottage.

Bluebear is located on a quiet rural road but it’s not super remote. Very easy to get out and explore. It’s a spacious house for a larger group. Husband and I only used the downstairs… master BR is on main floor. The WiFi works great for streaming, calls and texts. The large firepit and chairs are located along a lighted path up the hill but was a little far for two old folks to haul wood and coolers, etc. but stargazing from there would be amazing! A small chiminea or firepit just off the back deck would have been nice but we did enjoy fires in the wood stove. Enjoyed seeing the butterflies around all the wildflowers on the hillside. Overall, it’s kinda quirky but comfortable and well stocked. We enjoyed our stay at this cute and cozy cottage.

The cottage was lovely. It was a great escape from the city. Loved sitting on the porch with a book and a cup of coffee while the kids played in the yard. The wildlife in the area was active and enjoyable to see.

This was our second time staying at the Bluebear Cottage and it was just as enjoyable as the first time! The house has everything you need to make your stay comfortable and relaxing! The hosts make check in and check out easy! You are close enough to enjoy Lake George, Lake Luzerne, and Saratoga! We can't wait to visit again next summer!

•Overall Stay & Location: My husband, my 19 yr old dtr & I stayed over Labor Day weekend through 9/9/26. The house perfectly suited our needs. The location was secluded but was an easy drive to Lake George, Sacandaga River for whitewater rafting, and Skidmore College for daughter’s move in day.•Host & Amenities: Communication with the host was excellent. Check-in was a breeze. The house was clean and comfortable. They had a binder full of additional information about the house and the area. We loved having an option of a full kitchen w/coffee machine, sugar and toaster. We enjoyed playing many of their card & board games, and the couch & oversized bean bag chair were extremely comfortable for enjoying a book or TV. •Key Highlights: The outdoor firepit and cozy indoor fireplace were fantastic perks. We enjoyed star gazing a few nights. The online descriptions and pictures of the accommodations were accurate.•Areas for Improvement/Note on safety: The uncarpeted bottom stairs are very slippery; a handrail or treads should be added. The owner were receptive to this suggestion. •Tips for Future Guests: Shampoo/conditioner/shower gel were not provided. Plan on buying extra toilet paper and other essentials if staying more than a couple of days. Be aware that the large living room windows do not have blinds or curtains (though the property is very isolated).We would conser staying again if back in the area in the future.

Perfect get away

This was the perfect house for us to enjoy our stay in the Adirondacks! It is cozy and comfortable, quiet, but your still able to get to the many adventures that are around there! We enjoyed the fire pit, sitting on the porch, and the house had everything needed for a comfortable stay! The host was friendly and accommodating!

Private Peaceful Gorgeous

We arrived to the property by way of country roads, quaint towns, and breath taking views of the lake. Once there we enjoyed all the property had to offer. The owners instructions were simple, the property was clean and they provided everything, including washing machines and soap. We had a blast and the hostess was amazing work with.

Perfect Escape

We really enjoyed our 3 day stay here. The owners parents live nearby and they were readily available to help or answer questions. Extremely kind people who really wanted us to have the best of times. The house is very cute. The family room was our favorite spot with super comfortable couch and extra large bean bag chair. The property had a blueberry patch and an outdoor fire pit, but we couldn't use it due to weather. You can tell the owner is working on improvements around the property, but it suited our family perfectly. Loved swimming in the lake 15 minutes down the road, which was recommended to us. We would love to stay again sometime.

Another great stay at The Bluebear Cottage! The house is clean, comfortable, and well equipped for our vacation! We love how peaceful and quiet it is! You are close enough to enjoy activities in Lake George, Saratoga, and Lake Luzerne. When you come home you can enjoy the fire pit or sitting on the porch! The host is friendly and accommodating!
