We loved our time at the Cottage. The cozy cabin with the sound of the creek is very relaxing. The Cottage is located perfectly just outside of town and close to where we wanted to hike.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we are ready to return. The cabin was clean and cozy and picturesque. We had everything we needed and our host Liz was close by and was super friendly.

The bed kinda sucks. The listing says it’s a queen size but it’s a full. My husband is 6’4 so his feet hung off the edge a good bit. Other than that the cottage was fine and it’s a pretty good location in between black mountain and Asheville. Wouldn’t book it for more than 2 people tho

Madilyn, we have been welcoming guests via Airbnb since 2014( and more recently on VRBO), and this is the first time that someone has shared the perception of the bed being a full instead of a queen-size. Of course, I hate knowing that you were not comfortable in this way during your stay. And yes, you are correct that the cottage is best suited for an individual or a couple. However, with the futon also in the space, we have welcomed groups of 3 people from time to time, even though it is a bit tight.

Relaxing & Comfortable

Liz & Jason we’re the consummate hosts and the property was magical. Check in was a breeze & we were so comfortable right from the start. The cottage is incredible and falling asleep to the creek sounds every night was so relaxing. We would absolutely recommend it & hope to be back!

I didn’t want to leave

The cottage has such a great vibe about it. You can hear the babbling brook that is like 10 ft away from the bed if you open a window. It’s quite remote, but great for some b quiet time or bonding with your sweetie.

This cozy place was a paradise! Our favorite part was sitging onthe back porch istening to the water from the babbling brook. We saw birds and squirrels. We left our windows open at night to hear the water. It lulled you to sleep. Speaking of ,the bed was so comfortable! Liz and Jason was super host and do not bother you at all but if you nedd something they are therd to immediately mert your need. The shower was great! Great water pressure! Good after a long day of sight seeing. We will definately go back! Its not far from many things like the Biltmore Castle we went to see but far enough to escape the world we both are 65 an it was absolutely perfect!!

Cool Cottage in Natural Setting

I stayed at the cottage for two weeks. This was an ideal place for me: close to nature, but not far from modern conveniences (grocery, laundromat, etc.). Liz and Jason were excellent hosts and obviously put a lot of thought and effort into preparing the property. Loved the proximity to the babbling brook and the setting under the trees. There were little notes throughout the cottage to guide guests on how to use the various conveniences. The convection cooking appliances were cool, literally and figuratively. AC worked well, though I did not use it much as the mountain temps and humidity were much lower than where I live on the western shore of southern MD. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

We were celebrating our 13th anniversary. It's such a gorgeous spot tucked into the woods with the wonderful sounds of a creek and nature all around us. We even saw a deer one evening passing by the window! We also saw a baby black bear on our way out! It's such a cozy place and the hosts, Liz and Jason, are so so kind! I hurt my shoulder before a hiking trip and I didn't have any pain reliever with me so they offered me some as well as ice packs. We hope to come back to this sweet cottage someday. Highly recommend!

Om værten

Vært: Liz Ference

Værtens profilbillede
My name is Liz. My husband Jason and I have enjoyed renting out our beloved Waterfall Cottage for several years. We thoroughly enjoy seeing guests embrace our little piece of paradise! We are also both professional massage therapists and would be happy to offer massage therapy during your stay if we are available.

Derfor valgte værten dette overnatningssted

Waterfall Cottage is truly unique in its rustic elegance and surroundings. Two creeks converge behind the cottage and there is a delightful sitting bench right next to our little waterfall. Hear the sound of a flowing creek as you sleep and take in the view off the back deck over morning coffee (locally roasted right in Black Mountain). In addition to the beautiful surroundings, guests have reported that they love all of the small touches as well as having everything needed for a comfortable, easy stay. We do find that this space is best suited for individuals or couples looking for a relaxing getaway in the mountains.

Derfor er dette overnatningssted unikt

The benefits of Waterfall Cottage include a small woodland path on our property, the sights and sounds of two creeks and a little waterfall. We are also conveniently located 15 minutes to downtown Asheville and 15 minutes from Black Mountain.
