Set atop a granite hill, this comfortable 2BR / 2BA cabin blends privacy and convenience. Spread out in the cozy living room, cook in the well-equipped kitchen, and unwind by the indoor wood-burning fireplace. Sip coffee on the front porch, grill on the back deck, and let the dogs zoom around the yard.

The pup and I enjoyed our stay. We wanted a quiet place to relax for a few days and Alex's home was just what we were looking for. We also received a lovely gift basket of goodies from some local farm stands. Would definitely recommend the Bark Bungalow!

Just a heads up to travelers to the area. Cell phone service is very limited. Luckily the host had good internet or we wouldn’t have found our destinations. Disc golf in the area was good but pay to play. Never made it to Bobby Brown disc golf because our friends vehicle caught fire two miles from park and burned to the ground. Again no cell service to call 911

Thank you for your feedback, and I’m very sorry to hear about what happened to your friend’s vehicle. I do want to clarify the comments regarding cell phone service for future guests. There is cell phone service at the house. I personally use T-Mobile and consistently have three to four bars throughout the property. Over the years, I’ve had numerous guests, contractors, vendors, and work-related visitors at the house, and this is the first time I’ve been made aware of an issue with cell service at the property. Of course, coverage can vary depending on the carrier. The house is only about four miles from downtown Elberton, with multiple commercial businesses within approximately half a mile, and the property also has strong, reliable Wi-Fi. There are rural areas farther outside of town, including around some of the state parks and disc golf courses, where cell coverage can be limited. I also want to clarify that the reference to being unable to call 911 did not occur at the house or on the property. That occurred while the guests were away from the house, near the park where their friend’s vehicle unfortunately caught fire. Again, I’m very sorry they experienced that situation, but I think it’s important to make that distinction clear for future guests reading the review.

My husband and I could not have found a better place to stay during our weekend in this beautiful portion of Georgia. Not only was the bungalow full of every amentity a person could want when getting away from the hustle and bustle of life, but the nearby sweet town of Elberton is full of artsy surprises. The host, Alex, is very engaged and responsive, I cannot imagine anyone not enjoying their stay.

The home was exceptionally clean and organized. The property was very private with large porches / decks to enjoy the natural beauty. Conveniently located close enough to town, but far enough away to have a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. For people coming to Lake Russell for fishing or boating, it works out perfectly.

Alex was a terrific host and a great communicator and the property was as advertised. The kitchen was pretty well stocked, including spices, coffee, sugar and other non-perishable items. There was plenty of toilet paper, dishwasher pods, garbage bags and other items that many other rental units only have a "starter" supply. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated the heavy curtains so the bedrooms stayed dark even after the early sun rise. The icing on the cake was a personalized gift basket waiting for us with local products and a letter with information about those and other local retail establishments.

The house was top notch in the clean department, it was conveniently located near food shopping and restaurants. Although within 6 minutes of Elberton, the house is far enough away to have a country feel to it. The Bungalow has a big front yard, large covered porch in the front and a large private deck in the back. The neighborhood was quiet and felt completely safe. The owner, Alex, was outstanding. He could not do enough to make my stay a great experience! I stayed at the bungalow for 9 nights, I was in the area to clear land for an upcoming retirement home my wife and I are going to have built this year. Although the bungalow is 30 miles from our land I would gladly stay here again for all of the aforementioned reasons. Anyway, I would like to finish this up with a; Thank you Alex for being so accommodating and attentive in answering my questions! .......Jim.

Fishing trip

The house was great for us. The 4 of us had plenty of room.

Friendly host

Host was very nice and gave us great info on restaurants and things to see. . Place was clean and in a nice neighborhood. Great for our dogs who traveled with us as there was a large fenced yard for them to run around. Would recommend.
