The trails in the woods behind the house were beautifully groomed and well marked. Our dog went crazy running through the woods and into the creek.We put our own towels down on the sofas, as our lab really sheds, but the owners did not ask us to. The flooring was very dog friendly, and had areas where we felt comfortable using the water bowl even if it was dripped around!

House and property were awesome. Loved the walking trails and creek. The fire Pitt and grilling area was so nice and the house had everything we needed to make our stay so pleasant.

This had to be the cleanest and best thought out rental we have ever stayed in! There was literally no dust or dirt in this pet friendly home. The owner has put in little conveniences like retractable charging cords and stations throughout that make your stay just a little nicer. There are marked trails right behind the house which were great for walking our dog. We thoroughly enjoyed this peaceful home and would definitely stay here again!

Our weekend at the cottage was fantastic! Eric and Linda clearly put a lot of thought and attention into all the details for guests -- the check-in/out process was super easy, directions were clear, and the website offered great info about the history of the house, the surrounding area, and things to do. Our dog LOVED the trails, and it was a great home base for a weekend getaway of hiking and canoeing. We will definitely book another stay!

Awesome vacation at Little house

We had a fantastic time a the little house. It had everything we needed to feel comfortable and at home. The hiking trails in the backyard were so fun. Somebody put a lot of heart into those trails. Just sitting and reading on the porch swing was my favorite part of my trip. The beds were so comfortable and all of the decor so cute. We saw wildlife and ventured out to white water rafting at Nantahala, lazy river tubing in Helen, zipline adventure at Unicoi and hiking around lake Chatuge. We made great memories and hope to come back sometime.

Everything You Could Ask for

From the time we booked until the time we left, the process was seamless. The owners were very responsive and thought of everything you could possibly need at a home away from home. Each cabinet is thoughtfully labeled with the contents, and there were so many extras in case you forgot something or just to make your trip more enjoyable (different hair products, multiple charger cords, games, ziplock bags, foil and plastic wrap, paper products, and even a few snacks). We loved our time here. It’s the most organized home we have stayed in, and we loved the history of the house. We wished we had more time to explore the trails, but we did get to go on a brief walk. The house is close to town, and the entire area is beautiful. We look forward to visiting again.

The cottage was very easy to find. The property was absolutely beautiful and fully stocked with everything we needed and more. The trails behind the property were great and clearly marked. Eric was very nice and helpful. We will definitely be back for another stay.

Perfect house to stay in the mountains

House was remote enough to give you privacy but still very easy to access. Just a quick drive to the local town, lake, hiking trails, etc. House itself was immaculate, great amenities, easy quick checkout process.

Amazing Stay!

This house is such a great choice. It’s extremely clean and everything is labeled and well organized. My husband and I stayed here with our teenage daughter and toddler and it was perfect. The location is amazing, the trails are clearly marked and well maintained, and the house itself has everything so well thought out. We were super impressed!

Awesome cottage!

We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It was clean, well stocked and the bed was soooo comfortable. The trails were a pleasant bonus. Our pup enjoyed the creek for a cool drink as we took in the beauty nature offered. We would definitely stay here again and hope to finish the trails on our next trip. Communication with Eric was really great as he was always accessible to answer any questions we had. Thanks for sharing your beautiful cottage with us!

Great weekend getaway!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was so peaceful, well maintained and clean. It was plenty of space for a couple of small family. I loved the front porch swing and my husband enjoyed the hiking trail on the property. The internet and tv worked great. All the conveniences were a short drive into town. If you like coffee, visit the Abide Coffee shop. We would definitely stay here again!

House with trails

We loved this cute house with plenty of space to roam. Small yet comfy. We enjoyed walking the trails. Our two Goldens especially loved the trail along the stream. The house was very clean and extremely well organized. Also, very well stocked. The host thought of everything.

Beautiful home

We spent a long weekend for my husbands birthday. The home had tons of charm and was immaculate. There were thoughtful touches throughout and lots of extras in case you forgot anything. We enjoyed the trails and the quire peaceful setting. Will definitely return

Cutest Bungalow!

This is our second time staying here and we love it! The house has everything you need and then some. Cute little coffee bar. Little extras like mayo, mustard, ketchup, assorted jelly, rice, spices, oil, ramen, popcorn, plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, etc…. Eric and Linda have thought of everything. Any time we had questions, Eric was quick to respond and made sure that we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. We brought our dogs and they loved it too! We will definitely be back! We give it 10 ⭐️’s!

Great experience! All property owners/managers can take a lesson.

If I could give it an extra star I would. Place was spotless clean, well organized with everything labeled, had extra of everything necessary, and on top of that it had wonderful trails (with great signage, and QR codes for info!) right outside the back door. The creek is great for kids and dogs to pass the time in. And there are benches to sit on at different spots. Another bonus was a large mud room for when we got back hiking with our dog. Very helpful! You can tell the owner is detail oriented. My only issue is that we were only able to stay for a day and half. But we'd definitely book again! Now... this isn't really an issue, but there is only one bathroom. For the three of us... no problem. Just something to keep in mind if traveling with more than that. Definitely 5 stars.

The Trails!!!

This place was pristine and cozy and wonderful, but the big win was the trails. It was just me having a short getaway from the city, and I loved this place. I went on three walks with a cup of coffee, and still did not cover all the very well marked and maintained private trails. This was the perfect short getaway. I will be returning with the family next time.

The perfect getaway

This house was absolutely perfect. The owners put so much care in every detail. From the cleanliness of the home to the comfortable beds & furniture to the artwork on the walls to the 3 miles of trails behind the home with clear paths, benches & neat things from the past nestled throughout. We really enjoyed hiking the trails and sitting on the screened in front porch looking at the beautiful trees. I work remotely and the internet worked perfectly. We loved this home and can't wait to come back.

We fell in love with this mountain area years ago while visiting friends for a weekend. My wife and I moved full time to our home here outside of Hayesville in 2016. It was a second home for us, until we decided to leave city life for good. We recently purchased the property listed here and renovated the home. We now have miles of well-groomed walking trails along the creek and through the woods. We decided to open the property to short term rentals to share the beauty of the land rather than leave it sitting empty.

This is a beautifully renovated 1940's Bungalow with all new HVAC, appliances, and furniture. It is a cozy little house with modern amenities. Walk out the backdoor and enter a secluded wooded 20 acres with walking trails along the creek and sitting areas scattered along the trails as they wind their way through Mountain Laurels, Rhododendrons, towering hardwoods and Eastern Pines. It's like being in your own little slice of National Forest all to yourself. With nearby attractions such as Lake Chatuge, Nantahala Forest, Casinos, waterfalls, Appalachian Trail, and many dining options...Laurel Woods is the perfect property to launch from and visit all the scenes that the mountains have to offer.
