Grace is a great host. She went above and beyond to make sure we were safe and comfortable during a difficult time in Hanalei. Would definitely recommend.

Clean house. A little warm overall but great location. Super close to the beach. Rooms are nice and cool with AC on!

We thoroughly shouted our week vacation at Aunty Lydia’s Ohana. We were a family of 6, 4 adults and 2 kids. There was plenty of room for everyone and the 2 outdoor showers were an amazing bonus. The location of the house was perfect, just a short walk to the beach and town. We will definitely return.

Cozy and Serene Hanalei Retreat

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was the perfect place for myself and my 4 teenagers to stay while in Hanalei for 8 nights. The location is absolutely perfect, just a short walk to the beach as well as all the Hanaelei businesses. The traditional Hawaiian feeling of the home was incredibly peaceful and relaxing. The AC in each of the rooms was great and we all used the outdoor shower over the indoor shower the entire time! And the value of this rental just can't be beat for this area. I've been to Kauai several times and will absolutely rent this home again on my next trip!

Location was perfect for us and our 12 year olds to walk to town and to the beach multiple times a day - the backyard and grill were a great hangout to cook fish we bought from the awesome local fish market. We paddle boarded the river to the ocean and hiked the Napali and drove to other locations on the island for other day trips and adventures! We really enjoyed our stay!!

Great location. Ideal for families. Plain but comfortable, really touching story about the history of the home and the family who lived there. Very authentic Hawai’i experience, as someone who lives here in the islands.

It was a well stocked house and everything worked well (except for the TV which was fixed after we reported it)- there was also a lot of noisy sidewalk construction going on outside the house and noise from the street, but the location was good with a short walk to the beach park

The house was clean and the kitchen was well-equipped. Location and proximity to town and beach is nice. Unfortunately the WiFi barely worked and there were a lot of rules about where you are allowed to plug in your devices that didn’t really make sense and were rather inconvenient. The host was nice and responsive when we called about an issue with the lights in one of the bathrooms. The stay was a mixed experience overall. The house would be fine if you’re really just using it as a home base and not planning to hang out there a lot.

Outstanding Stay in Hanalei

Aunty Lydia’s Local was absolutely perfect for our family group - my husband and I and our two adult children and partner. We loved the space, location, and authentic old-school Hawaiian cottage feel. If you want to live like a local in Hanalei, this property is a great choice. We would book again without hesitation.

Best on the Island

We love aunty Lydia’s Ohana. This was our second stay and we just love the location and charm of this perfect spot. Kauai will always be our most favorite.

Great location and layout for family

The location and layout were great for my family to relax in a comfortable house. The kitchen and living room were large enough to lounge in between going to the beach (5 min walk) and downtown Hanalei (12 min walk). The outdoor space was well utilized with 2 outdoor showers (very useful!) and lots of room for gear under the covered parking. Would definitely stay again!

My family absolutely loved our stay at Aunt Lydia’s! The location is in the heart of Hanalei and surrounded by Kauais beauty. The house was extremely clean and well maintained. We will recommend to all our friends and family visiting the increíble island. Thank you!

What a place!

A wonderful Hawaiian experience. Fabulous location, incredible view from the front window and a true Ohana home. Nicely supplied kitchen and the luxury of outdoor showers (sublime!). A magical time.

Wow

GREAT location. Hanalei Bay is awesome. Great body boarding for us in December. The little town of Hanalei is perfect. Not too touristy. Teenage kids liked having their own rooms. Loved everything about this house and location.
