The Roost

Tucked on the shores of Hutchins Lake, The Roost is the ideal spot to enjoy lake life during all four seasons!

You will love the waterfront location of this cottage. Enjoy 120 feet of private frontage on this sandy bottom, spring-fed, all-sports lake. Do a cannonball off the end of the dock into the clear waters, set up your pole for an afternoon fishing, or just sit back and enjoy a beverage while watching the water. 

The waterside deck is perfect for taking a nap in the sunshine or visiting with loved ones. Head up to the next tier of decking where you'll find a bird's eye view over the water. Head just a bit further into the backyard where you could take part in a competitive lawn game, gather around the fire pit, or enjoy a meal at the picnic table on the patio. 

The main level of The Roost is spacious and sprawling offering plenty of areas for your group to spend time together or to get a bit of alone time. Flowing and open great room has space for everyone. The main living room boasts full views out over Hutchins Lake, a flat-screen smart TV, ample seating, and a seasonal (winter only) fireplace. You will love the large dining table that seats up to 12 with additional seating for 2 at the adjacent snack bar. Just off the dining area is access to the upper deck. Here you will find outdoor dining and a gas grill for your use. The grill is plumbed into the house gas line so you'll never run out of propane!

If you're looking to cook up a quick breakfast before heading out for the day or a large holiday meal, this kitchen has everything you need. With more than enough counterwork space, plenty of storage for all your snacks, pots and pans, and small and major appliances, we have it all. Even doing the dishes will be a treat as you'll have stunning views of Hutchins Lake to enjoy.

Adjacent to the kitchen area you'll find a sunny den perfect for curing up with a good book or getting some work done. This room has a twin-sized day bed for extra sleeping, but please note there are no doors and no window coverings for privacy. 

Also on the main level are three bedrooms and a bath and a half.  The master bedroom has a king-size bed, full views of Hutchins Lake, and a full ensuite bathroom with a shower tub combo. This is the only full bathroom on the main level. Each of the guest bedrooms have a queen size bed and there is a convenient half bathroom with a bidet. 

Head downstairs where you'll find so much more space to enjoy. The lower level family room has a Smart TV, DVD player, and over 100 DVDs to pick from. This is a great spot to curl up on a cloudy day and veg out with a movie. The adjacent kitchenette laundry area has a washer and dryer for your use, sink, and microwave to pop some popcorn for your movie. There is also a large table which would be perfect for bringing out your competitive side with one of the many offered board games. 

The lower level also has three bedrooms and a spacious full bathroom. The first guest bedroom is a large queen room with lots of space. This room is set apart from the others offering a bit more privacy. Bedrooms five and six offer a total of three twin bunk beds and a day bed with a trundle. These rooms are cozy and cute, but please note there is not a door between them. 

From back in the lower level living room you can take advantage of the direct access to the patio and yard leading out to the tiered decking and water. 

Located on Hutchins Lake in Fennville, you'll be near to many attractions and activities. A selection of breweries and wineries are all within a few miles away including Fenn Valley Winery, Virtue Cider, and Modales Winery. Just up the road, you'll also find Crane's where you can take part in the many seasons u-pick options, enjoy lunch at the restaurant, or pick up a pie to bake at home. Downtown Fennville, Saugatuck, Douglas, and South Haven are all less than 25 minutes by car. Here you'll find shops, restaurants, theaters, art galleries, and more. Our area has something for everyone. 

This home shouts FUN! From the water activities to the large smart TVs to the many DVDs, board games, and even a basketball hoop in the driveway, there will be plenty to keep your group enjoying their time away.

Please Note: 
This home is on a septic system. Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper. Flushing other items, such as feminine products, will result in the sewer backing up into the showers.
This home receives water via a well. The water is filtered and softened, but will still be very different tasting and smelling than city water. If you have never experienced well water, we recommend bringing bottled water to drink.
There is one full bathroom on the main level and the only access is through the master bedroom.
There is a Ring doorbell. It only records when there is motion in front of it. It records sound and video while the motion is happening, not all the time. 
There is not a door between bedrooms 5 and 6. 
There are no doors and no window coverings on the den which offers a day bed for additional sleeping.
