The Space:

Welcome to the brand new Eagles Nest at Elk Highlands property on Big Mountain in Whitefish Montana! This classic lodge style home is the perfect spot for your summer or winter getaway, nestled in a private and very secluded neighborhood right on the mountain this is what Montana vacations are all about.



When you walk inside the Eagles Nest at Elk Highlands you’ll be amazed by this true mountain log home, ensuring you and your family will have a vacation to remember. This home is designed to provide that family closeness and togetherness with a charm and modern amenities providing all the comforts you could want.



This beautiful home has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 8 very comfortably in beds and can sleep another guest in a twin Murphy pull down bed located in the office. The lower level of this home has 3 of the bedrooms with 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds. The lower level main bathroom has an ensuite full bathroom with full tile walk in shower and heated floors. The 2 other bedrooms on the lower level share a full bathroom which also has a full tile walk in shower and heated floors. The lower level also has plenty of seating, a game table and fireplace for family game nights and get-togethers. The main level won't disappoint either with huge vaulted ceilings and windows galore so you can see that nature abounds around this home. The fully stocked kitchen has everything you could want to create those family meals with stainless steel appliances and 2 sinks. There is a large dining table and also bar top seating to comfortably seat 10 guests. The main level also has a theater room with a large smart TV and surround sound speakers and theater style seating. And, just in case you have to bring a little work with you, there is a full office with desk, monitor and printer. The laundry room across the hall has a full size front load washer and dryer for those extended stays where a little laundry is necessary. Now, let's go upstairs and check out the expansive master bedroom and bathroom. The upstairs bathroom has a king bed and sitting area, huge walk in closet and full ensuite bathroom with claw foot soaking tub, dual sinks and giant walk in shower. The entire front of this home has a wrap around deck with a grill where you can spend lots of time enjoying those beautiful Montana mornings or evenings. This house has it all!



In the winter you can access the private ski way trail system that takes you to a private lift for this neighborhood. This trail is right across the street from the house and you can walk there or ski there, whichever is easiest for you. The ski trail takes you to a lift which will take you to a landing which allows you to access the Home Again trail system which will take you all the way to Base Lodge if you like. In the summer you are just a 2 minute drive to Base Lodge where you can enjoy all of the summer activities the mountain has to offer, including, gondola rides to the summit, mountain biking, hiking, tree adventure, alpine slide and more! And after a long day of skiing or winter activities you can rest and relax in the brand new 6 person hot tub that was recently installed.



Just a 5 minute drive away is the historic city of Whitefish. If you enjoy shopping, this is the place for you! There are many Clothing, Souvenir and Antique shops for you to enjoy. Take pleasure in some of the finest restaurants, bars, breweries, and distilleries that the Flathead Valley has to offer! There are fun events including music, theater, and festivals year-round! City Beach at Whitefish Lake is also only 10 minutes away! You have easy access to spectacular hiking, mountain biking, golfing, water sports, fly fishing, whitewater rafting, and all the Flathead Valley has to offer! Whitefish is home to beautiful Whitefish Mountain Resort! The resort is well known for a pleasant variety of runs, short waits in line, and for its consistently good snow conditions, on average 300 inches a year! Praised in National Ski magazine as the #3 place to ski in the country!



When the snow melts, Whitefish Mountain Resort becomes home to thrilling zip lines and an alpine slide, world-class downhill, and cross-country mountain biking, and the unique Walk in the Treetops. Ski Access: This property offers convenient ski access through the neighborhood trail system, but it is important to note that it is not a true ski-in/ski-out property. During periods of adequate snow, you can access the neighborhood trail system from the property and ski via the Home Again trail to Base Lodge, where you can connect to the rest of Whitefish Mountain Resort. For your return, the Elk Highlands Lift provides access back to the neighborhood trail system when the lift is operating and snow conditions permit. Please be aware that snow conditions can vary throughout the season. There may be times when the neighborhood trails are not sufficiently covered, requiring you to walk a short distance to reach the ski access. Likewise, the Elk Highlands Lift may not operate when snow conditions are insufficient. For guests prioritizing ski access, this location provides a great option, but we want to be transparent that skiing directly from the property to the mountain and returning directly to the property is not guaranteed throughout the season.
