Incredible location on Glenn Creek. Peaceful and relaxing. Close to Silver and Golden falls which are both easy beautiful hikes. The kitchen had everything we needed. Shane was a pleasure to deal with and the sauna was a special bonus.

Gorgeous and very unique home. We had a wonderful time here. The location on the river is absolutely stunning. Clear communications from the host. It is a long winding forest drive from town, so plan accordingly to get groceries before it's dark.

This place is a true sanctuary and better than I had hoped for. The creekside retreat was built by a true artist craftsman. Thank you, Shane and Maria, for sharing this place with those who seek to get away from the hustle of the modern pace of life. The falls upstream are a wonder to explore. I miss waking up in the swinging bed with the serenade of the stream. Thank you for letting us bring our dog!

Truly unique experience, we loved it! Everything was easy, from check-in to check-out, no issues. Quiet, private, dark and dreamy. Rain poured down during our stay, making the home feel even more cozy and comfy. Enjoyed the sauna thoroughly, as well as the tv room and well-stocked kitchen. So many unique touches throughout the entire home. You can tell this home was built with love. Would definitely recommend!

This is an amazing place to stay….it was built with so many cool touches like the juniper tree built into the staircase. It had all the comforts of home and is tucked out in the woods next to a stream that lulled us to sleep. The hanging beds were very comfortable (if you get motion sickness it might be not be for you!) We didn’t have enough time or good weather to enjoy the property and couldn’t do the nearby falls hike. There was a tree down along the dirt road that our rental car refused to go under. Wish we lived closer to take advantage of everything it had to offer!

The only thing I would recommend would be to write down any information you need before you go. There is no service there and you may find yourself wondering how you will get in.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The home was beautifully rustic with incredible craftsmanship throughout. The remote setting was peaceful and tranquil, making it the perfect getaway. We loved exploring the trails and discovering the waterfall nearby. The unique beds swinging from ropes were such a fun touch, and spending evenings under the stars made it unforgettable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a serene and memorable experience!

Hidden gem!

Such a beautiful place to stay with lots to do! We went in the creek multiple times, sauna, hammock, and hiked the falls. I can tell how much love they put into this place because there is artistry put into every detail. A true hidden gem in the woods.

Below the Falls lodge is the ultimate escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. You feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, and it's easy to unwind in this beautiful lodge. Shane, the owner, gives excellent directions and recommendations for the Coos Bay area. The lodge itself is private and gorgeous, with comfy furniture, elements of nature throughout, and nestled right next to a creek. The beds are suspended by rope, which made me a little dizzy at first, but I quickly grew to love the gentle sway lulling me to sleep. There's a sauna on site, though a lot of the words on the knobs are rubbed off, so you have to be creative figuring out how to use it (wi-fi+picture+ChatGPT helped us get there easily enough). Lots of outdoor seating, and a firepit perfect for s'mores under the stars. The kitchen is stocked with any pot, pan, or gizmo you'll need. A lot of basic condiments and tools on property as well. Definitely stock up on food in Coos Bay before you go as there are no grocery stores close by. Washer and dryer, with soap, available in the garage. The drive is mostly paved, except for the last few miles are on gravel. Just take it slow and know you're going in the right direction. A relaxing place to spend time with family; would certainly come again.

The home is very beautiful and the property has several nice options to sit and enjoy nature. It is slightly more rustic inside than I expected, with very light doors in bathrooms (just means not much privacy visually or for sounds) and lots of creaking and cracking while walking around. Again-this is not an issue if it doesn’t make you uncomfortable! I loved the idea of the hanging beds and they are absolutely great-but if you can’t go on a park swing without getting dizzy (like me) you might not enjoy them. There is a decent amount of whole bed movement with just turning over in bed. We didn’t do our research on how far out the lodge was and that’s no fault of the property obviously, but I personally felt it wasn’t close enough to Coos Bay to be considered a place to stay while visiting that area. It took a solid 45 minutes for us to get there. We also did not have the wifi or phone access (due to maintenance the host didn’t have previous warning of) and cell and satellite are not available. If you are going out there for multiple days and plan for no other trips in/out out it would be great. Host was lovely and helpful.

This place probably doesn’t even need one more fantastic review but it does deserve one.What our family (mom, dad, and four children ages 18-23) loved: Beauty and love- it is so apparent this home was lovingly crafted- the love in the details of every square inch literally reaches out to hug you. Each area makes you feel like you are one with the forest right outside. You can hear the creek that runs through the “back yard” (a seemingly bug-free forest) when you’re inside- and if you love nature as much as we do, that’s perfection you can’t find just anywhere.Some mentioned the swinging beds being problematic but we loved them- they felt soothing and peaceful.There were burning restrictions so we couldn’t have a fire but we were happy to grill on the deck and, as others mentioned, the extremely well-stocked kitchen was super appreciated. It is waaaay out and not near any provisions- we’d done our homework and packed everything we could need, so this didn’t trip us up. The only thing to be aware of is that while there is a futon and a pull-out couch, neither of those options would be good for someone with a bad back. If you’ve got old codgers in your group they will need to sleep in one of the beds for sure.We spent a whole week exploring Oregon and this was nights three and four of our stay- several of us enjoyed the time here as the best time of the entire trip- and we all had great fun hiking and climbing around the falls nearby.Thanks for the dreamy stay
