Ridgecrest Roost is your sparkling and remodeled retreat in charming Pine Mountain Lake, just 26 miles from Yosemite.
In this secluded neighborhood, you will find yourself looking out toward the pine trees while taking a deep breath of fresh mountain air.
Here you will find three lake beaches, seasonal community pool, boat & kayak rentals, an 18 hole golf course, restaurant & grill, horse stables & trail riding, creek-side walking trail/s, tennis courts, and more. Enjoy a sunrise breakfast on the deck, hiking in Yosemite, sunset on the lake, grilling with family and soaking in our spa, or a lively evening out on the town! Please note there is a $50 one time charge (per vehicle) to enter the community gates. This fee goes towards the local amenities (same for all rentals in the area).

We had a wonderful stay! The place was very private, clean, and the beds were super comfortable. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub after long days of exploring. The location was perfect, close enough to Yosemite to make getting there easy, but still quiet and peaceful. There’s also a great pizza place nearby, which was a nice bonus. Overall, a fantastic stay and we would absolutely come back!

This was a great place to stay for easier access to Yosemite (still a 1 hr drive). The place was fully stocked, had everything we could want in a vacation stay and more. We stayed over the holidays and enjoyed staying in, cooking and baking in the clean, stocked up kitchen. It was easy to get to, checkin/out instructions were clear and neighborhood felt safe as it is part of a community. We did not try the hot tub but it must be nice on cooler Fall days. Appreciate the host being dog friendly too! Will come back when we want to visit Yosemite area :)

Our stay was great. It was me and 7 of my other friends. It was their first time arriving to Pine Mountain Lake and Yosemite. The listing was well explained and the owner did not delayed our responses. Overall it’s a great listing to stay.

check in was smooth and easy. Owner was very responsive and helpful. the house was clean and as advertised. beds were comfortable and linens clean. location was great, as far as a jumping off point for trips into the park. it is hard to find negatives about the stay but one that comes to mind is the dysfuntional front gate operations at this gated community. you return from a long day in the park and you then have to wait around a half hour to get through the front gate because they only have one lane (for renters) and you have to wait for everyone (including those checking in) to pay and work out the access passes. a half hour is a long time when you have ice cream or hot pizza in the car. hopefully Pine Mountain Lake will figure out a better process. otherwise, it was a relaxing stay. the hot tub was especially nice after hiking all day.

Cozy Home

This is a great option for a Yosemite Trip. We went into the park everyday we were there and it was less than an hour to the park entrance. The property was clean and well maintained. Our only compliant was that the hot tub water wasn’t very clean when we arrived and with no way to clean it, it got worse throughout our stay. It Was still a great way to rest our sore muscles after long days of hiking, just wish the water had been a bit cleaner.

Comfortable and relaxing

We really enjoyed staying at this property while visiting Yosemite. We debated about staying at Rush Creek Lodge but I'm so glad we stayed here instead. After a busy morning of hiking and sightseeing in the heat we looked forward to going back to the cabin to swim at the beach. The beds were comfortable. We like to cook our own meals and thought the kitchen was well stocked. We found everything we needed at the nearby grocery store. The quiet neighborhood was beautiful and felt very safe.

Good choice for the family stay

The property is upgraded and well-maintained, jacuzzi, convenient location and easy communication with the owner. The beds are convenient with the comfort topper making a big difference. Our stay was during the hot days and there was too hot inside during the night, especially in the bedroom with the bunk beds. But after turning the AC ECO mode off the issue was improved. Overall good property, recommended for the families.

Very pretty cabin

Communication was a bit slow. We had an issue getting initial instructions and gaining entry into the house, but were able to work out the problem. Cabin has everything you need, except for foil,wrap, bigger bags, and some Tupperware containers. Location is great, 4 min drive to the marina, 8 min to Dunn beach. Plenty of places to sleep. Comfortable beds. We had a great stay!!!

Such nice host and a great stay. Thank you for accommodating our early arrival. Wish we stayed there for few more days. Faced some issue while parking the car uphill which was a little dangerous for my experience. If there could be an alternate parking downhill I would have preferred to park and walk.

Yosemite fun

Great place to stay if you’re going to Yosemite, quant grocery store and had lunch at the Iron Door Saloon in Groveland. Then at the end of a long day we enjoyed wine and hot tub on the back deck.

Peaceful,comfortable, and close to Yosemite

Great house for our family get away. The house worked well for our family of five with three grown kids. It was perfect for day trips to Yosemite, about 45 minutes away. Kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed the multiple decks. The perfect base for exploring Yosemite!

Pine mountain lake property

Ben was a very nice manager and was extremely communicative. There was a per car fee that was not disclosed to us until the day before arrival But due to the late notification of this Ben was very helpful in rectifying this situation. The place was very cute in a nice quiet neighborhood. The only issue we had was the cleaners did a very poor job of basic cleaning. The floors were unswept, there were cobwebs in the corners, the air conditioner return was covered in large amounts of dust and dirt and all the rugs had copious amounts of debris. The beds we’re comfortable and the linens were clean. The bathrooms and kitchen were also clean other than floors. There clearly was dust on all the side tables and areas that were out of the main use. Despite the above issues we did enjoy our stay and would still recommend this place. I passed along this information to the property manager and he ensured me he would address this with his cleaners.

Very Nice Rental

This a great rental. Very good location and a short drive to the lake. House was well equipped and we had 5 adults and two children and there was room for everyone and the rooms are all separated. We would definitely stay again. Our host was very communicative and accommodating.

Great spot for a lake trip

This house had everything we needed for two families of four. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and the proximity to the lake. The kids loved having their own room too.

Hi! I'm Ben. Originally from San Jose, CA, I moved to San Diego a few years back to attend San Diego State University. Since graduation, I have found myself with an appetite for adventure and when I need a bit of time to get away I stay at this house in Pine Mountain Lake. When I visit, I always play a round of golf (the PML course is beautiful), cruise over to Yosemite for some hiking and sightseeing, and enjoy some downtime at Ridgecrest Roost. When I am caught up in work and the day-to-day in San Diego I cannot wait to be back in PML. Nature truly is restorative!

Pine Mountain Lake is not only beautiful but it is peaceful. Personally, it allows my mind to rest a bit and makes for the perfect getaway. You could spend days hanging out at the house and enjoy being up in the pine trees or you could plan day trips every day for your stay! There is plenty to do in and around Pine Mountain Lake. Everything from hiking in Yosemite, playing a round at the championship golf course, visiting Rush Creek Lodge (a quick drive), and taking a boat out on the lake and that's just the start. You will enjoy your stay whether you plan a full agenda or just hang around the house!
