Our family had a great time staying at the Mermaids Pearl! The location was perfect, we loved the beautiful back yard and beach access, and all of the amenities at the house. We felt like it was a perfect home base for exploring the area, great for wildlife viewing, kayaking and hiking. Definitely recommend!

We had an amazing stay at A Mermaids Pearl! The house was clean, cozy and well stocked with everything we needed. We spent time everyday outside enjoying the beautiful private fenced backyard. It was our favorite thing about the house and definitely loved by our dog who enjoyed relaxing in the sun! In addition, the private beach access was a wonderful perk. We took morning walks every day by the ocean and took the beach chairs down to watch the sunsets. We did not want to leave! It is evident that the owners take pride in making sure their guests have a special stay. We will definitely stay at A Mermaids Pearl again!

What a wonderful find! the Mermaid's Tail is everything one could wish for in a beach vacation rental...comfortable..clean...VERY well appointed and outfitted. The kitchen is large with windows overlooking the magical back yard....comfortable seating in the living room and a superb mattress in the master bedroom. We loved the almost private path to the beach and the beach itself is our favorite in Brookings....very wide and long and walkable and in our experience, never crowded. My husband I both agree that the Mermaid's Tail is the perfect Brooking's beach house....

Beyond the property's beauty, the location served as the ultimate home base for our daily excursions. Within a short drive, we were hiking among giant redwoods, beachcombing, and exploring charming local communities. Great home to stay in Brookings

We really enjoyed our stay over Thanksgiving break at the Mermaids Pearl. The location was so ideal! We loved having such easy access to the beach. Having a fenced back yard was so wonderful for our little dog. I definitely recommend staying here!!

Very nice location! Great communication with owners/managers. Loved the beach access and the driftwood!!! This home Has been lovingly appointed with lots of ocean themed details. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great Location and Accommodations

We did a family weekend and fishing trip during our stay. Beautiful property inside and out it has a beautiful garden and a private foot path to the beach. The owners are very friendly, accommodating and easy to contact. This house brought us good fishing luck came away with a 50 lb 42 inch Halibut........it was a great trip and accommodations

Tsunami scare and all…great time in Southern Oregon.

Great space for our family to spread out while vacationing on the coast. Host was very communicative throughout including the night of the earthquake in Russia and the feared tsunami. It missed us causing completely!Thanks for the space!

Amazing Home for our Wedding Group

This home was very clean, well stocked with all the necessities needed. We rented four properties for our wedding attendees and this one was ranked just below our ocean front one. The property owner was amazing to work with and was always just a text away.

Absolutely fantastic! House was super clean and comfortable. Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of blankets and towels. Beach access was just a short walk down a private path. Beach was empty most of the time or very few people. Fenced in yard for our pup too. Redwoods down the road and plenty of river access for kayaking. Gloria the host was wonderful. She was super available and gave great recommendations on where to go, what to do.

Our family spent three nights here with our dog and loved it! Very pet friendly with bowls, treats, fenced in yard. The two twin beds were perfect for our teenagers. Th reclining couches and big tv were great for the evening movie nights. The beach access was awesome as it was a very short walk down a private path to private beach. We made a fire on the beach one night. The kitchen is very well stocked and was easy to make meals for our family. The bathroom had plenty of nice towels and shower had amazing water pressure. The back deck and yard gets afternoon sun which was nice to come in from the beach, have lunch on the deck and then go back to the beach. We walked south on the beach, crossed the river and “walked to California” in about 30 minutes! Beautiful beach and views. Host met us at check in, showed us all around and was very communicative throughout our stay. She has thought of everything to have at a vacation rental! We will stay here again when we are next in the area.

Vacation to the Redwoods

This is a very clean house. It comes with a very well stocked kitchen, dishes, pot and pans, etc. Plenty of sitting in the living room. Table for dinning next to the open kitchen. Beautiful landscaped backyard. Easy walk to the beach.

Perfect Place to Stay

The property is in a quiet neighborhood and a great place to stay with family or friends if you want to be close to the beach and out of the main town (but definitely not too far away - within 4 mi and easy drive with no lights). Beautiful gardens in both the front and the back. The pine tree across the street houses tons of cool songbirds who visit the backyard frequently and nestle in the apple tree or the shrubs. The beach is nice with driftwood and tidepools if you walk down a ways. Great sunsets. Loved our stay and if we are up there again, we will be back! Owners are very helpful as well!

Perfect in every way

Gloria is the most thoughtful owner I've ever rented from. The kitchen had everything we needed, the beds & couches were incredibly comfortable, and bathroom had plenty of soft towels. The house was in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. It was impeccably clean and the garden (fenced-in yard) was beautiful & perfect if you bring a dog. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that we could exit through the back gate and walk to a gorgeous private beach in less than 5 minutes. Restaurants & stores are also only 5 minutes away. Truly everything was perfect.

Very nice house

We really liked staying at this house overall. Everything is new and high quality. A few things that would improve it: stock the kitchen with decent bowls. There were only four very small bowls, not sure what you would use them for, and four large bowls, perhaps for ice cream or something? Nothing for everyday eating, like what you'd want for cereal or a meal. Please get some decent bowls, we ended up buying paper bowls for a our stay. Also, we did not know until a few days before check in through a random conversation with the owner that this house shares the property with another renter. You do have separate renters, but no privacy in the backyard. Every time you come and go the other renter's dogs yap at you, hence no sitting outside if they are also outside, which we didn't want to anyway as that was kind of awkward. It worked out ok, but as a renter, I very much wish to know details such as a shared property when deciding where I stay. Having this be a surprise to us was not appreciated at all. That aside, this home is great. A washer and dryer would make it even better, something which most beach houses include, which is very helpful if you are staying more than a few days. Beach access was easy and close. Contact with the owner was easy and quick. I would recommend this property to others, provided they are okay with the shared property aspect.

Thank you for choosing to stay at A Mermaids Pearl. We have listened and divided the backyard with a beautiful 6’ tall fence . Providing privacy for total enjoyment in the beautiful backyard and garden with your own private gate leading to the beach access. The little dogs are no longer an issue now that they have their own private fenced yard . I’m sorry you didn’t find the right bowls for your cereal. We have added more ready for your return .

Welcome to an amazing home. Fully stocked kitchen incl spices. Comfortable living and cooking space. A GORGEOUS garden with access to a private beach area!! And very pet friendly. My family enjoyed our time together in the wonderful place!
