Perfect Place to Stay

Our room was beautiful, well kept, clean and comfortable. We are close in walking distance to food, shops and the beach. We could sit on our balcony and watch the whales and enjoy people watching. Loved having a full kitchen. Close to washer and dryer. This place gets 5 stars!

Go for it!!

Went for our honeymoon and the Whaler didn’t disappoint. The room was clean and set up pretty well. The communication and follow up was the best I’ve experienced, we wanted to experience a bunch of local spots and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. The location is perfect. Very centralized to snorkeling, pool, or the ocean. A bunch of good food in walking distance and even some others for a short drive. Was able to whale watch from the room and a short walk to black rock we seen dolphins. Highly recommend staying at the Whaler!

Fantastic views of black rock! This is a well equipped top floor apartment within a resort complex providing access to pool/sauna/jacuzzi/gym/tennis amenities. If you’re expecting someone to come in and tidy up after you and make your bed each day you’ll want a hotel instead. This is ideal for a more private vacation. Everything went incredibly smoothly even given the insanely adverse weather during our stay.

Time in Paradise

The Whaler rm 1218 is a beautiful studio apartment that provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The kitchen and bathrooms were fully stocked with amenities. In addition, the provided beach chairs and umbrella were used almost every day!! The instructions provided were clear and glad they were provided. Thank you a wonderful experience.

Beautiful condo. It’s nice and clean and up to date. It comes with beach chairs and an umbrella. Close to everything we needed.. View was great! We had a problem with the internet but it was fixed quickly. I would book this condo again when we go back in a couple of years.

Wonderful condo

The condo was wonderful! It nice and clean and updated! View is great! I had everything I needed. Communication with the management company was wonderful. We had a small issue with the Internet and it got fixed right away . The condo comes with 2 beach chairs to use. We sat at the beach for 5 days! No complaints! I will book this condo again!

Great place!

This was a perfect place for 2 or even 3! Ppl. Great view of the north west side of Kaanapali beach. The unit was clean and cooking/eating utensils were sufficient. There’s no Carrie over or basic spices so you need to buy/bring everything if you’re planning to cook there. Highly recommend!

Beautiful View, Wonderful resort, kitchen items not well appropriated

We had a wonderful stay. The resort and location are wonderful! Our only issue was that the unit we stayed in was not well appropriated for our stay. We had two butter knives, three forks, no pan for baking side dishes. there’s only three grill sheet type pans. While we enjoy eating out, we also enjoyed using the grills. I had to go to the store and buy some disposable tin pans to make some of our food. Also, could not run the dishwasher when it was full because I needed to hand wash utensils and dishes every time we ate. We did plan to have at least one meal a day in our unit. I feel as though they put just enough in the unit to qualify. If you don’t plan on doing any cooking, the unit does have an amazing view!

Things that need attention

The ice maker is not working and the closest door doesn’t close. It would have been better to leave the door between the sinks and shower toilet area, or to put a pocket door in. As it stands now, if someone has to use the toilet, everyone else looses access to the sinks and closet. One other item. There are two controllers for the TV. The small one seems to control everything, I never could figure out what the big one did. If it does something a note describing how to use it would be helpful. If it doesn’t do anything, remove it.

Beware of air conditioning problem

Property was clean and inviting. -Upon arrival we noticed it was pretty hot in our unit. I emailed and called several times regarding the situation as the thermostat never got below 74. Further investigation lead to us finding our the door to the patio was too short and there was a 2-3” inch gap where hot air blew into the condo, and the wind whistled all 24/7. It could not be fixed. There was duct tape residue where it looked like someone tried to cover it up, so this was definitely a known problem beforehand. They should have put this in the listing or not advertised it as an air conditioned unit. I spent my honeymoon uncomfortable the entire stay because of this and I would have booked another unit had I known.

During the resort's exterior painting initiative, old weather-stripping and door insulation was removed and replaced with new weather-stripping, insulation, and door jambs. We apologize this project was ongoing during your stay resulting in some unwanted whistling. Great news, the project is complete, the new insulation is installed, and the door seals nice and tight as expected. We look forward to having you back next year!
