The house was incredible. Small house but it had everything you needed. With the upper level, there was a great area for us.

The backyard view! Beautiful! The cottage was exactly the way it was described. It was peaceful and quiet, it was a much needed getaway! Patricia was great at making sure we had what we needed and answered very quickly to questions we had. We walked through some of the property trails and enjoyed the wild life.

Out door heaven. There is a swimming pond with walking trail through woods around the pond; sunrise sun set porch view with lots of seating. The kitchen is well stocked. They had extra charging cords and bathroom amenities if needed. This home would be inviting to pets and children. The only item that some might want different is a stand up shower; this one is a stand alone tub with wand that we loved. There is also the biggest deck TV I’ve seen. We spent almost every minute outside. Just such a relaxing weekend!

This was our second stay. Perfect for hiking around the area, visting historical sites, relaxing on the porch after a long day, and even a little fishing in the pond.

Peace and Quiet

I think a saw 2 cars go by during my stay… This place was a pleasant surprise. The solitude and proximity to nature was perfect and I totally enjoyed every minute.

Space is amazing for active kids! We had an absolute blast playing outdoor games and using the paddle board to scoop fish with the net out by the dock. Definitely not a swimming pond. The abundance of leeches were off putting. The bathtub was a definite challenge. A shower would definitely be welcome. We have family in the area and the kids were there for camp for the week. The two porches were great to view the wildlife.

Perfect place to relax

Clean and comfortable, perfect place to relax after a busy day. Quiet and private. Decompress on the back porch with a beverage and a nice lakeside view. Would recommend to anyone visiting the outer Fredericksburg area.

Great getaway!

We really enjoyed our weekend stay here. It was such a treat to have access to such a large property- our dog enjoyed all the new smells and being able to run free! And it was nice for us humans too to get “away” from the rest of the world for a little bit. The sleeping situation up the ladder was a bit unique but not a problem for us. We also were visiting Kings Dominion and it was only 10-15 minutes away depending on traffic, which was really convenient for us. Would stay here again!

Country cottage getaway

We lived our stay! The pond was lovely and kept us and our dogs entertained. Property is private and clean. Definitely a place to relax and recuperate. Can’t wait to return!

Beautiful spot to enjoy nature

Very beautiful, peaceful property. Scared up a deer on the nature trail and saw lots of wildlife. The cottage has a cool and yet somewhat awkward design, a little scary for some to climb up the ladder to the bedroom. Other than that it was very comfortable and more than well equipped with everything we needed. I will say, be careful of some of the condiments/food left in the fridge and cupboards, there were dressings and other things waaaaaaay past their expiration date. If you're looking for a quaint, out of the ordinary, very private and peaceful getaway this fits the bill.

Awesome home. If you're not agile staying in the loft might be Trickey. I'm a shower person but baths never hurt. I would stay again during our next adventure.

Relax in nature but with amenities

Lovely quiet stay in nature, we saw dragonflies, butterflies, turtles, songbirds, frogs, rabbits, deer and lots of Virginia native berries and plants. The hosts encouraged us to pick blueberries and were kind and helpful. The sunsets are gorgeous. The paddle boarding on the pond, ping pong, and the fire pit were a big hit with the kids!

Secluded, Unique, Near Kings Dominion

This used to be a winery tasting room so it has an interesting layout and the old winery vines and decor. We did not use the sleeping loft but the two big sofas worked well. We enjoyed the secluded location and liked hanging out on the front porch as it has ceiling fans. You are not allowed to park near the house due to septic so it’s a long walk with no path through grass with your stuff. It needs a good cleaning and updates (dirty walls, carpets, and furniture). Great size kitchen but needs a coffee maker and some other basics. It’s a pretty drive and only 15 minutes to Kings Dominion. Would recommend for small families.

Perfect Rural Getaway!

The house was just the right size for my husband, two dogs, and me with all the city amenities you would need. The property was gorgeous with lots to explore. Perfect relaxing weekend away from the DMV with the added bonus of 15min from Kings Dominion amusement park!

Relaxing getaway, as advertised

Relaxing getaway just a short drive from Richmond. Plenty of space for the dog to run around, and loved the pond access. Kitchen was also fully stocked if you enjoy cooking!

We chose this location for the water source (pond fed by natural springs) and sandy loam soil which is ideal for grape growing.

Derfor er dette overnatningssted unikt

Originally built as a future tasting room for the vineyard across the pond with over-sized porches and enhanced septic system to support large groups and events. If you are interested in having a large event, please reach out.
