A week's stay in the Eastern Townships with my two sisters in late September. I begin with saying that we often travel together, and usually book a VRBO property. None of us are in the habit of searching for something to complain about, in our reviews. Here are the problems we had at this property: First, the first photos showing the property on the VRBO websight sight were not in any way linked to the property: pool, lounging chairs, a clubhouse. We even asked neighbours about that, and they had no idea what we were referring to. Second: responding to complaints expressed on a review of the cottage on VRBO, referring to the labsence of a handrail in the stairway, a handrail was installed. Unfortunately, it only covered some of the steps, not all of them. The handrail did not extend to the first few steps and the last two to the upstairs level. Next: there was a problem with the heating in the living room. The thermostat was not working; it showed an E for Error. We contacted the agent responsible, and he must have done something from afar, because the thermostat began to work. But within hours, it showed the same Error code. At that point, we were mid-week into our stay. We contacted the agent several times. He contacted the owner of the cottage, and reported back that the owner would deal with the problem after we left. Which left us with four days without heat in that room, the main room on that floor. We were not impressed.
