The inside of the house was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The garage was a huge bonus as it was raining when we arrived. The Big issue was there was no water. This place is probably great in the summertime when the water is high.

This was a very peaceful area. The home was nice and the downstairs was a great area to hang out. The experience with nature was top notch. Deer wondered at the end of the property a few times a day. At night you could hear owls right out the door communicating to each other. The only bummer to the trip was that the water was relatively lower than it looked on the photos. We were unable to get access to use the kayaks due to how far the water was from the dock. That didn’t allow us to be able to fish which was a down fall but it didn’t ruin our stay. The host communication was top notch though. Probably the best we have had yet since using VRBO.

We were very happy with our stay. The host was very communicative and efficient when we had questions. The instructions to find the home were clear, and the home was well-stocked with basic supplies. The water was a bit shallow for swimming (only 5 feet or so deep), which was a bit of a bummer. Lovely place to sit on the porch and relax.

This home was perfect for us. The beds were comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed. The view was breathtaking. We spent a lot of time sitting on the dock fishing. Thank you for allowing us to use your home for the week!

We enjoyed our stay at Sunrise Shores very much. The house was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with appliances and cookware. However, some of the baking pans should be replaced. Also, if we actually had 10 people staying at one time, there would not have been enough flatware. These are both easy remedies. Having the bed in the basement, came in handy. One drawback for older people is the hilly yard. The house is not too far from golf courses, marinas, Patti's 1880 Settlement, and Hematite Trail.

This location was beautiful and close to nature. Our family enjoyed fishing every day and caught many catfish from the kayaks, conveniently located on the property, and from the dock. We also enjoyed seeing deer, fox, and waterfowl everyday. The only issue we had is that we were specifically told that the dock was deep enough to accommodate a pontoon boat, and we relied on that information when making our plans. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we found the water at the dock was only about one foot deep, making it impossible to safely bring in or use our pontoon as planned. Our stay was in September so perhaps the water level fluctuates periodically. We really enjoyed the property and had a great time with our family overall, but the inaccurate information about the dock caused us to change our plans. We contacted the host about this issue and were told the host would contact us to discuss the issue but we were never contacted, which is surprising considering how responsive they had been to that point. Other than this issue, we would absolutely stay here again.

We sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding the dock and water level. Historically, we have been able to accommodate pontoon boats through mid September, so we were surprised by how low the water was during this stay. We understand the inconvenience this caused and have since updated our listing to clearly explain that water levels can fluctuate and may be too low for boat access as early as late summer. We also apologize that we were unable to connect by phone as intended. We did attempt to reach out to discuss the issue, but unfortunately were not able to connect. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and are glad you otherwise enjoyed your stay.

The lake home was in a pretty location right on the lake. It was spacious and easily accommodated our group of seven. It was well stocked with essentials and clean. We enjoyed the deck, grill and choice of two fire pits. Thank you, Melissa for a wonderful weekend.

Comfortable home on a beautiful lake

This home was immaculate and well-eqipped. Our host, Melissa, was very welcoming and helpful. The lake is quiet and lovey, with many coves to explore by kayak.

Great quiet get away

We were looking for a place to unwind and have some downtime and this place was perfect! Lots of space, love the nature and peaceful location. There were deer in the yard every day which was fun to watch from the deck of the house. Would stay again and take friends back.

Great family fun!

Our family spent Thanksgiving at Sunrise Shores, and we had an amazing time! We had plenty of space for ten of us, and our kids loved playing on the hill out back. The sunrise view of the lake was beautiful! Very quiet and secluded area!

What a wonderful place for a family vacation!

My family and I really enjoyed our time together at this quiet, beautiful property. The 7 of us - myself, my son and daughter and their families- stayed very comfortably here. My grandsons and I had a great time taking the kayaks out on the lake from the private dock. One afternoon we rented a boat at the Lake Barkley Marina, and had fun tubing in the lake. I highly recommend this property for a family vacation.

It was beautiful area. House was nice Beds could have been a little more comfortable and some of the furniture was cheap and torn up or missing parts . Pool table could use some work. The host were nice and did not bother us during our stay.

Beautifully Cozy!

what a beautiful, cozy, super clean lake home! We enjoyed having a dock for our little boat and being able to commune with nature each day on that awesome deck! All the little touches in the house and the well stocked kitchen made us feel right at home. The night sky was so clear for stargazing that we saw the Milky Way! Great place to have some quality bonding time with family and friends.
