Quite possibly the best VRBO we’ve ever stayed in very clean with High quality finishes. The host was perfect and communicated what was necessary no more no less. The personal touch of the homemade scones was wonderful and did not go unnoticed!

This is one of the nicest and cleanest VRBO’s I’ve ever booked, and I stay in VRBOs a lot! The hosts have created a serene atmosphere in the quiet countryside. You will lack for nothing here! They have thought of every convenience! We even received delicious, still warm from the oven blueberry scones. Sure wish our stay could have been longer.

What a delightful, comfortable place. We stayed 5 nights since my granddaughter's graduation was on a Wednesday, and the party wasn't until Saturday night. Michelle has thought of everything. I could live here. What a thoughtful hostess! The kitchen is very well stocked. We loved getting acquainted with Billy and Michelle.

This little haven was exactly what we needed for our anniversary getaway. I couldn't think of a single thing to improve as every detail exceeded every expectation. The homemade scones left for us were incredible! The coffee was of premium quality (not your usual Folgers!) and an absolute cherry on top of it all. The views of the surrounding countryside were rejuvenating and the quiet of the locale was exactly what I had hoped for. everything about the furnishings and decor made it feel like the hosts intended to spoil their guests. The amenities left nothing to be desired at all. Every need a guest might have to function and be comfortable in a new place was all right there. I absolutely loved the kitchen which was well outfitted to any cooking need when one is away from home. There was plenty of space to park within the gated property, and I felt absolutely safe. We were in town for the Scottish Highland Games and Festival and enjoyed ourselves completely. I just wish we had been able to stay longer.

Spectacular place!

My husband and I were on our way to drop off our son at camp and stayed at this wonderful place. The host did amazing job with the property and included all the things you might need during your stay definitely recommend and will return!

The coziest little stay in Decatur

This was a perfect spot to stay on our trip to town. Michelle was so sweet leaving us homemade blueberry scones to arrive to along with farm fresh eggs and everything you could think of needing in the course of a stay away from home! We loved this place so much and will definitely be staying here again on future trips in Decatur!

Beautiful 1 bedroom cottage

Great location, beautifully decorated with great views of the land. Host was wonderful to work with on early checkin and getting in the property gate. Highly recommend this VRBO!

Property is wonderful. Very nicely decorated and just a overall comfortable place to hang out. I especially loved the stocked coffee bar. So nice to wake up and be able to make a fresh cup of coffee.

Hidden gem in Decatur

Perfect spot for a weekend getaway. The “Eagles Nest” is just that. A loft perched on top of the hill, just north of Decatur with all the amenities one could ask for in a VRBO.

I am originally from Fort Worth, TX and moved to Decatur, TX in 2003 after Billy and I got married. We raised 8 kids together in our big blended family. Planning get togethers, large parties, weddings, receptions, has all been a part of my life for many years. I also owned and operated a commercial cleaning business for18 years. Finishing our 2nd story apartment for the purpose of hosting guests naturally seemed like a great idea! I totally enjoyed decorating the Eagle's Nest with the intent of making people feel very special during their stay. I personally apply my detailed cleaning standards to the Eagle's Nest. I have always enjoyed meeting new people and serving people's needs. In addition to our home business of the Eagle's Nest, I am also a musician (keyboardist), playing regularly at my church, as well as a few times in a cover band. I enjoy landscaping, decorating, teaching piano, socializing, and doing Cross-Fit type workouts at my gym. I know it sounds like I'm all over the place, but I'm an eclectic sort of person. Our family has grown since everyone lived here - we are grandparents, and soon to be great grandparents! We often have family gatherings, but the Eagle's Nest is still a separate, quiet space where guests can feel peace and enjoy country views. As far as why I chose the name Eagle's Nest, here's the story: Our big beautiful live oak trees starting dying a few years ago, so I thought we should contact a local tree artist. You know, a "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade" kind-of-thing. One of our dead trees' trunks comes right up through the deck of the apartment, so we had to get creative! I came up with the carved eagles and Billy came up with the nest idea. Kevin, the artist said he actually could create this eagle's nest for us! One thing led to another and we had Kevin carve our "sculpture garden" below as well! We gave him artistic license to carve what he "saw" in the trees. We ended up loving it!

This 2nd story guesthouse apartment is completely separate from our main house. The Eagle's Nest is great because from all angles you get a nice view of land or trees or pool. It's not in a neighborhood. Billy and I are close by only if needed.

Location is a huge plus because we are located so close to several highways, making it easy to get where you need to go! We also have a private country feel, which oftentimes you'd have to drive really out of your way to get, so I think it's kind of the best of both worlds!
