Our room (105) was not as advertised. The pictures online shows a clean modern room with nice furniture, modern lamps on nightstands and retro wall art with painted colored walls. We pulled up at the "peaceful lodge and cabins" for our 2 night stay to see a rundown motel off a busy street. Our door was slightly opened and completely unsecured when arriving. The screen door only shut if slammed. Only one nightstand had a lamp, an old one. The other nightstand had a small Keurig machine and a tray with creamers, sugar, etc. The TV sat on an old dresser in the corner of the room. A loud AC which didn't cool the room was in the closet w/ a microwave stacked on a small fridge. After 4 days of backpacking, we wanted showers. No towels! I called the manager and left a voicemail. Not knowing if or when he would call back, we immediately drove to Dollar General and bought towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner, since none were provided. We received a callback 20 min later from Josh saying he could drop towels off. I told him it was too late, we already bought them. He apologized. We turned the TV on to a pink screen. We found only 4 channels available, the rest said unavailable, call the cable provider. We called and the associate advised that Hilltop's cable was disconnected in June 2026. We decided we didn't want to continue staying at this property and left. We occupied the room for about two hours total. I emailed Hilltop for a refund and have yet to get a response.
