Hunter Lake Lodge awaits...

Our gorgeous lodge nestled in the pines boasts an open floorplan with a beautiful 2-story wall of windows looking out onto a large deck with HOT TUB (available June thru Sept only) and stunning views of Hunter Lake. While our permit only allows for 10, this home has 3 bathrooms along with 4 bedrooms providing space for 11 in beds, with additional sleeping for 2 available on large comfy Cordaroy brand beanbag beds in the lower level gathering room.

Our large kitchen includes beautiful granite countertops, a breakfast bar with seating for 4 and is fully stocked for your use. The dining area provides seating for 10 and the adjacent screen porch has seating for 8 guests. Plenty of room for your large group! Additionally, there is a 2nd screen porch providing a quiet space of tranquility.

Since you're probably coming to enjoy the great outdoors, here are a few other amenities offered:
In addition to the large furnished deck you will find our fire pit overlooking the lake, a canoe outfitted with a trolling motor, and kayaks (6 adult & 1 child) w/paddles & lifejackets. And new for 2026, we will offer a small Mitey-toon pontoon boat that accommodates 4 adults - perfect for fishing, exploring or anchoring offshore for a swimming platform.

When winter rolls in, bring your snowmobiles to enjoy miles of Sawyer County trails. Garage and heated shop available for your sleds & gear. Our driveway has a large parking pad for your trailer. There's even a sledding hill for the kiddos.

ATV trails are also nearby and plentiful! A golf course is across the lake (just a 5-minute drive) and the 3-million acre Chequamegon-Nicolet Nat'l Forest offers hiking, biking, fishing, skiing, foraging or hunting.

We doubt you'll ever feel like leaving, but just in case, the adorable town of Hayward lies just to our west and is a great place to shop, eat and enjoy the local artisan community. The lumberjack show is a must see and we highly recommend a stop at 3 Fly Sisters Taps & Wine on Main Street!

We think you'll find our lodge to be a perfect spot to gather with family and friends! We are eager to welcome you to Hunter Lake...again & again!

Beautiful, secluded, and very peaceful property. Super easy check-in, appreciated the detailed directions. Enjoyed kayaking, gathering around the fire, soaking in the hot tub, and playing games around the big table. Beds were comfy and house was clean and well kept. Fabulous family weekend!!

Beautiful home and accommodations. Nice deck and hot tub outside. The downside was the lake and lake front. The lake at the property was full of weeds and the bottom is thick mud. There is no beach or areas for chairs. The weeds are high and go right to the shore. No one wanted to go in the water. There is no public boat launch on the lake. You can launch at adjoining Barker Lake but you can't get anymore than a row boat to Hunter Lake from there thru the connecting river because it is very shallow and rocky. We had to get out of our little boat 4X and walk it thru the water. I impromptu visited the girls camp/retreat on the north side of the lake to see if they had a ramp. They did and allowed me to use it for our 16ft Lund fishing boat. I paid 60 for the favor. Very nice people - but don't count on that option. It's private and I got very lucky. We did do some tubing with the kids on a small, deeper area on the north side of the lake but we shuttled everyone there. We did dock the boat at the home's pier. It was just deep enough for the 16ft Lund.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Laura was always quick to respond and the check-in/check-out processes were seamless. The house worked well for our group and was clean and well-supplied with the essentials. Our only complaint was that the basement was quite chilly relative to the rest of the house.If we have the opportunity, we would love to stay again!

Family getaway

Enjoyed a long holiday weekend at this beautiful home. It was perfect for the 7 of us. We prefer to cook and eat together. The kitchen was adequately stocked and a huge kitchen table was perfect to gather around. It was HOT and we were thankful the A/C worked so well. We enjoyed the hottub after sunset! Enjoyed the lake as well.

Hunter Lake Lodge was incredible

Our group had an incredible time at Hunter Lake Lodge. As we drove up to the property it looked exactly as it did in the pictures. We were easily able to access the home with the check in instructions provided prior to our arrival. The inside of the home was just as amazing as the pictures and was perfect for our group of 7 adults. The weather was perfect to enjoy the large deck overlooking the lake, the hot tub on the deck, the two screened porches, and a fire in the outside fire pit located near the lake. The hosts Matt and Laura were very responsive with any questions we had about the property and the area. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing spot in the woods of northern Wisconsin. Thanks to Matt and Laura for an awesome place to share a long weekend with great friends!!

QUIET, CLOSE TO EVERYTHING

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The trails were close for riding, town of Winter is very close where we were able to visit friends, Hayward is a great day trip or short trip to check out and so much more. Right on the water and close to access if you wanted to drop a boat in. The neighbors have a dog named Winter, he startled us a few times as he wonders off to visit and Roam, but he loves treats if you do encounter him. House was very well stocked and labeled and perfect for a family or friends with sleeping arrangements.

tree top lakeside get away

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cabin on Hunter Lake. We enjoyed everything about the cabin & it's picturesque surroundings. We had a lot of fun on the lake, around the campfire, on the deck, on the four-season porch & in the cabin. The cabin was stocked with everything you could want or need. There were 3 couples & 3 adult children. There was plenty of space & comfortable beds for everyone. We look forward to returning in the future!

Great Location!

So many good things about this property! House is large, 2 screened porches, plenty of room for 6 adults and 7 kids, which were 11 and under. The refrigerator was quite amazing. All our food for a week fit. Great hot tub, plenty of outdoor seating and a very nice dock. The kids caught many fish from the dock and all enjoyed the provided kayaks. Hosts very responsive to any questions we had. Many great memories made!

Relaxing

My family had a wonderful time, fishing, watching the wildlife and just relaxing on the beautiful deck. The grandkids loved seeing the turtles by the dock each day. The home was beautiful nestled in the woods. Communication was great! We would recommend this place. Thank you for letting us stay.

Relaxing getaway

We had great family time! Especially enjoyed using the kayaks to explore the lake and 2 rivers. The kitchen, huge dining table and great room was perfect for puzzles, lots of cards, craft activities and great food. Enjoyed the screened porch dining area as well as the nice deck.

Summer family vacation

Our stay at NeverSummer was relaxing and a time for our family to reconnect. My four kids, spouses and five grandchildren ages 4- 18 enjoyed the private lakeside retreat in the woods. The accommodations were clean and Laura was great to work with. This was our second time at NeverSummer. We love it there.

Snowmobile weekend

My family stayed for a snowmobile weekend. The house was great for the 6 of us and our dog. The only negative was the driveway with all the snow they have. Was not able to turn around with our 23 foot enclosed trailer. Had to back on and out.

Great Family Getaway

We had a multifamily getaway for a long weekend, just what we needed! Kids were aged 9-13, and they had a great time. It was laid out nicely with one family sleeping in the multi-bed room in the walk out basement, and the other family taking the rooms on the main level and loft. The kitchen was fully ready to handle what we wanted to do. Foosball tournaments, great indoor fireplace, outdoor bonfire. Views of the lake from the deck were great for morning coffee! Excursions included visiting the candy stores & shopping in Hayward, with some good pizza at Coop's. Grocery store in Hayward (Marketplace foods) is what we also used, a nice store. We also spend a morning hiking at hiking at Copper Falls State Park, which was a good hike for us. Lunch on the way pack was at Chippewa in Clam Lake, we didn't want to wait for the pizza (Chicago style takes some time to cook), but the sandwiches were tasty! Our families loved our visit!

Great property and water sports!

This property has such great features, such as the two screened in porches, great kitchen and dining room, and plenty of sleeping options. The selection of 5 kayaks was awesome! A heads up that the paths down the lake are steep and can be slippery when wet. Otherwise this property is a repeat for sure

Wonderful Getaway

This is a great cabin to hold our annual family get together for Labor Day. The kids had fun paddling around in the kayaks and fishing off of the dock. The large decks and screened porches were wonderful spaces to relax and enjoy the scenery. The host, Stacy, was very responsive and made sure we enjoyed our time. Many wonderful memories were made!

Well Furnished w/ Many Amenities

Owners were extremely proactive in making sure we were well informed throughout our stay. Well furnished home that had plenty of areas for people to find their own space. The napping porch during a day full of rain showers was pure bliss.
