STONE RIVERSIDE COTTAGE is just a few steps from the SASSAFRAS RIVERS edge

This one of a kind spot is located on the beautiful Sassafras River. Tranquility mixed with nature at its best on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. This cozy stone cottage offers the perfect place to relax and enjoy time with loved ones, family or friends. It is perfect for a couples get-away. It is situated on one acre and is a stone's throw from the river. From watching a passing boat, to bird watching, fishing or kyacking , there is plenty to admire and enjoy. It offers a full kitchen including quartzite countertops, stove/oven , microwave and refrigerator/freezer. There is one bedroom with a TV and a queen sofa bed in open floor plan. There is a knotty pine board ceiling thru out the cottage. The bathroom features a glass shower with a pebble stone floor. The magnificent view from the large windows is fantastic. A swing from the tree is relaxing along with the andirondack chairs near the fire- pit. A table and chairs for dinner sits beautifully on the porch near the barbecue grill.

This was our second stay at the Stone Riverside Cottage, and it won't be our last. The cottage itself is clean and comfortable, the setting is luxuriously peaceful, and the owners are very kind and accommodating. We highly recommend it to others.

This is the most quaint cottage on the most peaceful bend of the Sassafras river I could dream of. We had everything we needed for a lovely long weekend, including comfy couches, kitchen tools, and decks of playing cards. From watching birds to kayaking on the river, the property is a proper getaway from everything else while never feeling like youre roughing it. Tami even provided a cake and balloons to help us celebrate a birthday. That same thoughtfulness extends to every part of the rental process and stay.

Lovely River Life

Beautiful little cottage on the river! Loved staying here for a few days and enjoying the peace and quiet of this secluded spot. The home is newly redone, well appointed and highlights the river views. We enjoyed the kayaks and the paddle boat and then rested in between explorations on the shady tree swing. Very relaxing overall!

Relax on the river

Great location to relax and enjoy nature. We kayaked up and down the river and actually caught fish. Our host was terrific and made our stay very comfortable. We'll be back.

Truly amazing!

The Riverside Cottage is exceptionally clean, well maintained with little touches to make it feel like a home away from home. Tami our host left birthday balloons and a birthday cake which was a lovely surprise. Fishing was great during our time there, we caught eight catfish. Sitting outside on the swing and listening to the sounds of nature was so relaxing. We would definitely recommend this VRBO for anyone seeking peace and tranquility on the river.

Beautiful setting

We had a great time at the cottage. Everything we needed was there for a relaxing, quiet few days. The views, the birdwatching, kayaking are just a few of the things we enjoyed most. It’s a great place to unwind and enjoy nature. We would love to come back!

Wonderful, quiet weekend

This is truly the perfect weekend getaway. The location is great, and is literally steps away from the river. House was very quiet and cozy and was clean and stocked with everything we needed. The host was very kind and responsive, was happy to check in on us but gave us our space. It was the perfect quiet weekend for my husband and I. We would gladly go back!

Great stay!

I used this cottage as a place to get ready for my wedding! It was a perfect size for me and all my bridesmaids to get ready. The place was beautiful and we even got really nice outdoor photos with all the bridal party by the water

Great Get-Away in Relaxing Setting

Everything about the cottage and water location is great. The cottage is very well appointed. We especially enjoyed the view of the river from both inside the cottage and sitting outside around the fire pit or relaxing on the swing. A very peaceful and enjoyable stay!!

Weekend Getaway at Riverside Cottage

We had a great stay at Stone Riverside Cottage. The hosts were great and everything was very easy. The cottage is nice and updated with amazing views of the river. There are so many ways to relax and enjoy the peaceful scenery. We enjoyed kayaking, fishing off the dock, and watching an amazing sunset. We will definitely be back. Thanks! Marcus

Beautiful area and Cottage

Amazing! The view is incredible. We had beautiful weather all weekend. Tami came over one day and introduced herself, and asked us if we needed anything. She was very helpful, and supplied us with more information about the area. We really liked the cottage. It was very clean and comfortable. We even saw a baby owl perched above the kayaks in the rafters.

Gorgeous, relaxing, fun, perfect

We had a beautiful mini-break at the river house. Planning with Tami was quick and easy, and finding the property simple and clear. We stayed 3 nights and hope to return in the future, probably next time with our 2 kids.The property is more beautiful than photos suggest. Everything was spotless and thoughtful with many little touches like a notebook and pens, an umbrella, makeup removal pads, to-go coffee cups in addition to mugs, extra blanets, adorable decor, etc. We comfortably cooked half of our meals there including grilling. We slept with the windows open 2 nights and were comfortable during the day using the AC in very hot weather.The best parts were the views from the huge windows and the outdoor spaces-- comfortable seating around the firepit, manicured landscaping, 2-person bench swing, dock with built-in bench, and covered outdoor dining area. We used the very convenient peddleboat and kayaks, and swam in the very warm river. Sunrises and sunsets, TV with access to anything we might want, lovely walks past luxury homes, wildflower fields, deer and rabbits, and farm fields. We saw hawks, vultures, and even a bald eagle. There were tons of spiders outside around the property, which maybe explained the lack of mosquitoes or other bothersome bugs.Tami and her husband breifly visited, which was lovely, and even offered a river cruise on Bill's pontoon boat.We enjoyed an afternoon exploring Chesapeake City and delicious dinner at Deep Blue at Kitty Knight.

Little Gem of the Sassafras

We wanted to get away for a few days and came upon this gem of a cottage on VRBO. We had never been to this part of Maryland, but it is less than 1.5 hours drive from our home in Philadelphia. This stone cottage was recently completely redone. It sits literally 40 feet from the banks of the Sassasfras River, with stunning views of the river from very large picture windows in the living room. Note-this is a one bedroom/one bath cottage. It is perfect for two people but will get tight beyond that number. I am reluctant to say more as we definitely want to return and would love to keep this amazing find our secret. Tami as a host is responsive and terrific. The house is immaculate and well stocked. The property has a swing facing the river, a fire pit, and a small patio with a dining table, chairs and a couch. Four kayaks are provided for your use. We spend hours every day on the river watching amazing birds--eagles, osprey and blue herons. Bottom line--paradise on the Sassafras.

A tucked away gem that reminds me of a Conde Nast "FIND". Simple, elegant and LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. If you want to disappear in simplicity, this is the spot! It is a guest house on a larger gated property just at the edge of a curve of the Sassafras. Only 20 feet from the water! Wildlife galore and smart amenities. HIGHLY recommend!

This place is just perfect!! If you’re looking for a place with a beautiful view and a time to relax and unwind, this is ideal! The kitchen has all you could need, the furnishings are beautiful and comfortable, and the decor is lovely. I can’t say enough positive things about the cottage. And then you have that absolutely perfect swing to sit and watch the birds dive for fish, the boats and kayaks go by, and just the beauty of the water. My sister and I had a truly memorable weekend and I have a feeling we will be back!The owner goes above and beyond and she made our stay impeccable.
