Welcome to Mountainside Oak Cabin, your cozy escape nestled in the heart of Running Springs, CA. Whether you’re seeking a peaceful retreat or a playful getaway, this rustic gem offers the perfect blend of work and play. Soak up sunlight in the airy living room, fire up the retro wood-burning fireplace, challenge friends to a game night, or simply unwind with a mountain breeze... Give your self a change of scenery. A tranquil cabin adventure starts here.

Within a few minutes’ drive, you can head to local hiking trails, bike trails, ski resorts, Arrowhead Lake, or stay for a little fun in the game room.

As you arrive, you have two vehicle parking space in the property. There is a keyless entry with a preassigned entry code. As you walk in, you are greeted by a woodburning fireplace that leads to an open space layout. In the main floor you will find one bedroom and a full bathroom. In the living room there is a 55' smart TV with an Amazon fire stick, to enjoy shows and movies.

As you make your way to the bottom level, you will find half a bathroom along with two bedrooms. One of the bedrooms has been converted into a game room with a full-size futon. The second bedroom offers a dedicated workspace in case you need to get work done. Note, light construction to the East side of the cabin.

Power outages, while infrequent, can occur in this region. This home is not equipped with a backup generator at the moment. We recommend guests come prepared with firewood and other essentials for comfort during unexpected interruptions. In case of an outage, we have flashlight for your use.

The cabin was super clean and cozy, it had everything we needed and we truly felt right at home. Javier is a wonderful host and was very accommodating. Our overall experience was very pleasant and we highly recommend!

Javier was a great vacation rental owner, and his communication with us was great. The check-in process was very smooth. The cabin interior is just as described. I will say one really great thing for the beds. They were super cozy and comfy and I hope Javier tells me where he bought the pillows and duvet from lol thanks Javier for a good stay.

Fantastic Stay!

Absolutely loved our stay at this cabin! From the start, the owner was incredibly communicative and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed for a smooth experience. The cabin was spotless and well-maintained, with all the comforts of home. The location was perfect—quiet, private, and surrounded by beautiful nature. Our kids absolutely loved the game room; it was the perfect spot for them to have fun. We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway. Highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with great amenities!

cozy get away

The location was super convenient and easy to get to. We loved being able to watch the changing weather from the windows and deck. Perfect spot for relaxing. Make sure you check out the coffee and pastries at LuluBell's, which is a shot walk (as long as you are okay with hills!).

Remote work!

We chose this cabin for an extended stay to work remotely from a beautiful location. There is a desk in the downstairs bedroom with a door for privacy (and a beautiful view out the window) and reliable high speed internet. Just what we needed! The location is 10/10! The back deck is amazing—at night you can see the lights all the way down in valley below. The only downside for summer is that the cabin does not get any shade so the upstairs gets hot. Javier is a great host!

Great stay close to Lake arrowhead

We had a great stay at this cabin condo located about 15 minutes from Lake Arrowhead village. There were some nice touches like free snacks and a game room with lots of board games. Communication with host was good. Unfortunately there is no AC and the cabin gets very hot during the day. We stayed over Labor Day weekend. When we returned from our hike it was >90 degrees. Otherwise perfect other than the lack of AC!

Snowy weekend

The location of the cabin was great because it was close to the local store and restaurants plus it was a quick drive to Snow Valley ski resort. The cabin was very comfortable for us ( 3 adults and 2 teenagers). There were plenty of blankets to keep us warm. My only suggestion would be to change out the utensils. The forks were toddler size, lol! During our stay we were snowed in so we weren’t able to leave on the day we intended to check out. The host was very understanding and helped us navigate through our snow situation. We are grateful and recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a nice get away to the mountains.

Warm stay with family!

Just stayed there with family of 6. the interior decos are cute. we enjoyed the stay even there were some issues during the stay. However, the host is very helpful and trying to resolve the issues that we had.

Cozy and as described

My family really enjoyed our stay here. Lots of games and activities to keep the kids busy (5 and 8 years old)… the arcade was a nice touch as well as darts, fooz ball, board games, etc. Place was a bit hard to find in the dark but that’s just how it is in the mountains. Parking could fit two cars right in front so very convenient. Thanks for letting us stay at your beautiful home!

Javier provided us with a great experience at big bear area. Nice warm cabin with modern amenities. Definitely recommend for anyone visiting the arrowhead/big bear area!

Nice little cabin

This cabin was perfect for a family of 4 1 couple and two teenagers everything was great. Super dog friendly and communication with host was awesome. My one little complaint is that they only have 1 pot and 1 pan and which makes it hard to cook anything

I am a proud father of two boys and a loving wife. We enjoy traveling and trying different kinds of food. In my travels to different parts of the world, I have found myself meeting all kinds of amazing people, some of whom shared the same interests in traveling as myself. It is for this reason that I got into hosting. By hosting, I continue to meet more wonderful people and share some of the natural beauty Running Springs has to offer.

We chose Running Springs because it allows people from the nearby cities to enjoy a breath of fresh air. It is a place where you can enjoy all the seasons throughout the year. It is minutes to skiing resorts during winter and near hiking trails during summer. During fall you see the color transformation in the tree leaves and the air is always fresh.

The cabin is situated in a quiet neighborhood that gives you the opportunity to relax during the day and see the stars during the night. We have a game room with a foosball machine and an arcade machine that will keep you entertained for hours.
