Back of Beyond's Wild Haven in Dehigaha Ela is an eco-lodge located on 7 acres of forest-land within the wilderness of Sigiriya. The beauty of this location is that it's truly wild and remote. This tree house is suitable for singles, couples and even young families and can sleep up to 5 people in total (so perfect for families or groups of friends!)
Back of Beyond Wild Haven eco-retreat features 3 tree houses in total, 2 boulder cottages (which are similar to tree houses as they are elevated off the ground but they rest on giant boulders) and a more conservative bungalow perfect for families with young children.

The surrounding forest at Back of Beyond Wild Haven is a haven for birds, smaller mammals and larger mammals such as Deer, Sambhur and even Elephants. Guests can enjoy bathing in the Rain forest Corridor where two streams meet, in a corner of our property. The crystal clear water is full of small fish that provide a natural foot spa to the delight of our guests (which is completely free of charge!). If you enjoy walking in nature there are many nature and jungle trails to keep you busy. The property also boasts of a large pond full of bright purple and pink lotuses and water lilies. The retreat offers many activities including nature walks, bird watching, and hiking, day excursions to visit the many archeological sites in and around Sigiriya, tours to tourist attractions as well as wildlife safari to see wild elephants - all of these experiences are guided by our expert tour guide.

There are a number of high outcrops that provide excellent hiking options. Not only are you hiking up forested areas, you also get to explore the ruins of ancient monasteries and palaces. Day safaris to the National Wildlife Parks provide excellent opportunities for elephant watching. National Wildlife Parks: Drive one hour from Dehigaha Ela to reach Minneriya National Park and Hurulu Eco Park, and 1.25 hours to reach Kaudulla. Minneriya, famous for its ‘Gathering’ when herds of over 200 elephants move to the open grass lands and its neighboring park, Kaudulla are beautiful parks well worth a visit. The recently opened Hurulu Wewa Park is also waiting to be explored.
Breakfast is included in the pice and other meals can be ordered from our menu.  We have an excellent cook who can prepare both eastern and western cuisine.

> Dambulla: The beautiful ancient rock temple with magnificent carvings and rock paintings dating back thousands of years. 30 minute drive from Dehi Gaha Ela
