Secluded and relaxing

The property was very comfortable and had all we needed and then some. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Great place to unwind!

We enjoyed renting from Kristi and Ed—attentive and thoughtful hosts! Our small family had a great time swimming and fishing at this quiet, scenic pond.

Amazing!

Absolutely perfect stay for relaxing and enjoying the wonderful scenery! Kristi does a great job making everything seamless and easy, so you can enjoy your stay. Would highly, highly recommend!

Wonderful

We had a wonderful week. The cottage was exactly as described, and Kristi and Ed were great hosts. Daniels Pond was a terrific place for swimming and boating, and we found great hikes in the nearby vicinity.

Beautiful cottage

We had an amazing week with our family. Kristi and Ed couldn’t have been better hosts. The cottage is lovely- incredible lakeside setting, comfortable and clean living space, and set in a beautiful countryside. We would love to return again one day!

Perfect Cabin in Perfect Spot

This cabin was just right for our family getaway! The location could not be better: right on beautiful Daniels Pond. Kristi met us on the first day to make sure we were all settled in. She and Ed were wonderful hosts, giving us insider tips to the area. The cabin was well-stocked and comfortable with everything we needed.

Solitude

Quiet little pond, no boat motors, just the sounds of loons ,ducks and geese! Property owners are super friendly, great kayaking, biking and beautiful countryside!

Wonderful location by the lake

We went skiing at Jay Peak and everybody in our group enjoyed staying here, a location around 50 minutes drive from the ski resort. Everything works well, very clean and charming place. The hosts were always available to answer our questions and greeted us with a surprise gift. Highly recommended.

A truly special spot

We loved this quiet, beautiful lake front spot! Our experience was made all the better by the wonderful hosts and all the work they put into this cabin and our experience. Kristi is the best - great communication, a well-stocked house with everything we needed and an exceptionally clean space. We'll be back!

Long weekend in the NEK

Our family had a wonderful time at "A Getaway Cottage". Kristi and Ed were great hosts who were attentive to every detail. They made several recommendations for day trips, the cottage was stocked with welcome items and everything was very clean and ready for our stay. Our family enjoyed our time on the water (boating and fishing), there was great pizza at The Parker Pie Company and great beer at Hill Farmstead Brewery (both within 15 minutes). We would definitely stay again when traveling to the NEK!

Spectacular

First, Kristi and Ed were amazing hosts, with chocolate covered strawberries and great other extra touches. Second, Daniels pond is spectacular! Loons and bald eagles right out the door of the house. One of our gavorite family vacations ever. We loved the area and the produce and cooking and puzzling. Thank you!

Perfect spot for relaxation

This lakeside cottage in the mountains of northwest Vermont is great for a relaxing escape. Located on Daniels Pond, a small picturesque lake, there is a rowboat and canoe for enjoying the water, or you can take in the view from the dock, in the beautiful back yard with a hammock, or from inside on the porch. Sunsets are spectacular. The cottage is well-appointed and comfortable, and the hosts truly go above and beyond to take care of everything for your stay. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay in the country with outdoor activities.

Serene, beautiful cottage and area.

Our host Kristy and Ed were like old friends as soon as we met. The cottage is cozy and clean, beautiful lake and countryside surrounding the cottage. It is so quiet here, you will hear loons, eagles and frogs croaking, an occasional tractor, and seldom a car. We walked for miles around the surrounding hills, consisting of old Vermont hillside farms and estates. Heaven on earth, we will return!

Labor Day Weekend

This delightful cottage on Daniel’s Pond is fresh, clean and comfortable – and magical! On one of our canoe paddles, we sat for several minutes watching a great blue heron waiting for its lunch. The sunset reflected from the pond with magnificent pink and red radiance. Our hosts Kristi and Ed were beyond welcoming.

Absolutely perfect relaxing lakefront house in every way! The bed was very comfortable, the relaxation areas were great, the fan really helped cool things off and the windows brought in just enough cool mountain air and the sound of the loons! The kitchen was also ideal. The location was spectacular, the views and the sunsets were not to be missed and an easy 10 minute drive into town with a good selection of restaurants and markets. This place in the summer is incredible but we are just as excited to take a look at this place in the Fall as well! These were the most incredible hosts we have ever dealt with, so accommodating, and so nice And they truly make this experience one of a kind! Run don’t walk to this unforgettable lakeside getaway!!!

Serenity

Getaway cottage is exactly as described. The property is very private with beautiful views of the pond, which is more like a small lake. The cottage was very clean upon arrival and has everything you could need for your stay. Kristi goes above and beyond to make sure the rental process is easy and our needs were meet. This was the most accommodating property we have rented. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great rental in the NEK.

Great area. Good accommodations and setting

The property was great.. We enjoyed ourself. Ed and Kristi were fabulous hosts and were available if we needed them. Very gracious in the little touches around the house! I would absolutely Refer a friend or relative to stay here. We had a great time at the house, biking, and on the lake just boating. My kids developed a love of canoeing! We did a few hikes and a few touristy things near lake champagne as well.. The weather was perfect, It was a great week!

A piece of heaven

Daniel's Pond and the Getaway Cottage are wonderful. So peaceful and relaxing. Kristi and Ed are outstanding hosts and equipped the cottage with everything we could need and then some. Vermont is truly another world of green mountains, rolling hills and magnificent lakes and ponds. One week was not enough time to do the things Kristi and Ed suggested in their welcome book. Great reason to return!

Daniels Pond

We were greatly pleased by this camp, owned by Kristi and Ed Bride. Beautifully located on the shore of Daniels Pond, it is very complete in every respect, including drinkable well water, heat, full views of the pond, quiet (side road), fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, Dish TV, washer and dryer, first floor master bedroom, lakeside dock, privacy from adjacent properties, etc. Access to the loft (3 beds) is by spiral staircase, and can be a bit daunting for seniors. All in all, a most delightful camp.

Great Fall Weekend

Kristi is an amazing host. The home is fantastic -- very clean, very comfortable -- perfect for a relaxing weekend. Even though it rained - we had a great trip - seeing the fall foliage and visiting several spots in the local area. The house is very comfortable -- and wonderfully inviting. Kristi goes out of her way to make sure you have a great time - and have everything you need. She even put some personal touches to make sure our stay was special. I also love the extra attention to cleaning and the covid precautions which made us feel even better about our trip. We can't wait to come back!
