Captain's Cottage

The cottage was everything we needed it to be. I would suggest that the host provide a little more detail regarding amenities, such as the coffee maker (both ground and K-cup capable), and the specifics regarding beach equipment, as well as earlier communication for check-in and check-out process.

Great location

The property was clean and well stocked with the basic essentials. The only negative was, I didn't realize that 2 of the bedrooms were upstairs and we had to use a very tight spiral staircase. Overall, it's a nice location and a clean house.

Matunuck

Very quaint beautiful property overlooking the water on both sides. Surfer’s dream located right on the breaks. Great bars/restaurants right down the street. A little smaller than advertised (upstairs rooms are connected with one essentially a closet). All around awesome stay

Stunning views

The captains quarters rental is truly lovely! The home is decorated beautifully, beds are comfortable and the views are just perfect. The host has excellent communication and even let us in earlier than the 4pm check in time. There were so many beach chairs, towels etc it was wonderful . If I had to give any negatives it would be the shower. It’s a bit grimy and small but it wasn’t even a concern when the rest of the home is so wonderful!

Relaxing getaway

We stayed here for a week and would come back again in a heartbeat. The location is lovely with views of both the pond and the ocean, and we enjoyed being within walking distance of several beaches and pubs. The house itself is well-equipped, clean, and very comfortable. We appreciated having access to beach towels, beach chairs, and the inflatable kakay (super fun!). The cottage is the perfect size for a couple (it was only two of us staying) or a small family. The fact that two beds are upstairs and only accessible using the small and narrow spiral staircase does mean that you need to be able-bodied and no larger than average sized to access the upper floor. I commented to my husband that my childhood self would have loved the upper level - felt like a cozy hideout. No complaints and hope to return next summer!

Beach Vacation

We enjoyed our time in Matunuck. The house was walking distance to the beach as well as a restaurant, Pub, and ice cream. 5-10 minute var ride coukd bring you to several other RI beaches. The house was clean and comfortable. Beds were comfortable and the central air was wonderful on the humid days. Kitchen was eqipped with what you may need to cook but a sharp knife would be helpful. Heavier foot traffic on weekends due to the Pub down the street but not too bad. The host includes a beach cart, beach chairs, boogie boards, beach toys, and yard games. Pieces of feedback: * Blinds on the side windows and door in the upstairs bedroom and a curtain on the front door downstairs would offer more privacy *Clothesline out back to hang our beach towels is a must *Rugs to wipe our feet off before entering the home would help limit the amount of sand that travels into the home *Outdoor furniture that can dry quickly would be better than the cloth material. We found the cushions never really dried the entire time we were there whether it be because of a rainy day or the damp ocean night air. Overall, great stay. :)

This was our second stay in this property. Can't beat the location! Well-equipped and comfortable. No complaints!
