Perfectly set on 3.5+ ac with a creek, this beautifully renovated c1900s log cabin offers a special base camp for your Montana adventures! The property is very private, and the cozy cabin offers historic charm with luxurious finishes throughout. Prepare meals in the fully stocked cooks' kitchen. Rest well on quality mattresses with comfy bedding. Soak in the 5 person hot tub. Enjoy the outdoors on 2 decks, or by the firepit. Only 15 minutes to Missoula, and 2 minutes to an epic trailhead.
----------
This authentic Montana log cabin dates back to the early 1900s! The period homesteader cabin built from Tamarack timbers was originally located deep in the Rattlesnake Wilderness, and it was moved to this site in the early 1930s. The owners spent nearly a year fully renovating the cabin in 2022-2023 with significant attention to detail. The cabin's finish quality is top notch, and the owners care about offering an excellent guest experience.
The views from the cabin are splendid, offering a close-range mountain vista with west facing decks and windows to enjoy sunset colors in the sky. The cabin is set next to a small babbling creek, and is surrounded by a beautiful Montana pine and fir forest.
The one-level cabin features 2 bedrooms, an inviting open-concept living room with gas fireplace, dining area, and abundant natural light. Prepare meals in the fully stocked cooks' kitchen with ample counter space and cabinet storage. Both queen bedrooms feature clean and comfortable linens and mattresses, HVAC mini splits, reclaimed blue pine walls, and inspiring natural light to greet the day. The luxurious bathroom offers a spacious walk-in shower with a teak bench, along with a stackable washer and dryer, plus a wall mounted St Tropez toilet. Relax on the back deck overlooking the view and private grounds, or escape to the lower deck to relax in the 5 person hot tub.
For entertainment, the home features hard wired internet service, plus a swivel-mounted Smart TV in the living room. Board games and interesting coffee table books are also provided for guests to enjoy.
During the warmer months, the cabin stays perfectly cool with cross breezes and A/C from mini splits. During the colder months, the well-insulated cabin has a delightful sense of hygge from the gas fireplace and multiple heaters.

-SECURITY CAMERAS:
(1) Located at the back of the cabin, pointing towards the parking area and entry walkway.
(2) Located on the side of the cabin looking towards the creek, we use this as our wildlife camera. We've seen bears, a cougar, elk, and more!
(3) Located on the back side of the barn looking towards the well house and upper section of the property. This is located far away from the cabin.
-RATTLESNAKE NATIONAL RECREATION AREA: The Rattlesnake Mountains, located only four miles north of Missoula, Montana, and adjacent to the Rattlesnake National Recreation Area, form a rugged and scenic vista for the Missoula Valley. This Wilderness is characterized by scenic lakes, forested ridges, open cliff-banded slopes, and mountain peaks. Elevations in the Wilderness range from 4,200 feet at the southern boundary to 8,620 feet at McLeod Peak. Ponderosa Pine, Lodgepole Pine, Larch, Fir, and Spruce can be found throughout the Wilderness depending on elevation and slope aspect. Approximately 33 miles of trail and 1000's of acres of untrailed terrain allow visitors to explore this area via hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. *Pets are not allowed all year at the main Rattlesnake trailhead! Please reference the information we have in the area about taking your pets hiking, and when/where they are permitted.*
